Hello! I bought IdleStopper v2. (89 USD) in Sept 2023 and installed it in my wife's 2022 Honda Civic Touring. Works fantastic and never have to remind my wife "Did you press/push the Idle-Stop button so it is turned off?". It is now automatically Off and does not void any part of your Honda / Acura warranty. A simple device to install as may take 20 to 40 minutes to install depending on what model Honda/Acura vehicle you have. All it does is turn off Idle-Stop which you could do yourself. It does not affect the vehicle's operational ability or the ECM "Electronic Control Module" aka computer system in any way. This way when at a long traffic light or backed up for a while on the road from traffic congestion your vehicle will not stop idling and keep running. Imagine having the A/C on or the Heat going and the engine stops or maybe the engine fails to restart. The reason for Idle-Stop is government regulation on Emissions or to have less pollution. Idle-stop is annoying and aggravating as most people do not want it.
'20 pilot here. bought the $80 harness and installed so that auto stop is disabled on start-up. i have the option of turning it back on if i want to, but i would NEVER turn it back on. major negative on this vehicle. i got stranded twice in busy traffic with a no restart. i just about got hit by a car when i attempted to exit my vehicle on the first occurrence.
Lol... the funny 😁 thing is now is not working at all.... some guy has paid for it.. I got it free!, it look like it is a trick from Honda because we found out that a good % of guys got it fixed after a service at the dealer, I used to have Ford and Lincoln and this is my first Honda, from now on I will buy Toyota, I love my Ridgeline but I hate when a company hide things or don't respond for their mistakes, even if is small like the wireless charger issue.
@@07Review Not me , I will stay with Honda. I've worked at both Honda and Toyota plants and what I witnessed at both facilities was an eye opener compared to the big 3 which I worked at as well.
@MrTonyPiscatelle Really!!.... will be nice to know some of those things you know, maybe I will stay with Honda, I like Honda but I don't like a few things, besides the 2 I just mentioned, one thing I don't like is the timing belt, seriously! A pickup truck with a belt!, then the valve adjustment, lol I grew in Costa Rica, and I was a taxi driver, then my mechanic showed me how to fix my car, one of the things I know very well is how to adjust those valves, I am some kind of street mechanic 🤣, but that's the other 2 things I don't like, after that I love the Truck it is super confortable.
There are criteria that must be met in order for the vehicle to enable auto idle stop. It is likely that there is one or more criteria that your vehicle is not meeting, resulting in the auto idle stop feature not engaging.
In mine is already disabled, how? I have no Idea, I just do local, I did see some post saying that some guys went to the dealer with the same issue but honda didn't find anything wrong with it, other guys stated that after a long trip the idle on/stop stated working again, so I think I was blessed mine isn't getting on any more, may be because I just do 40 mls trups only😊
To be honest, just on and off constantly and then for almost a year it was off, then suddenly it started back on for almost a month, then again playing with it the same way I did it previously again it is off, 😅
Same thing happened to my 2021 this week. It's not activating when I turn the vehicle on. My wife and I turn it off everytime we turn on the car and I thought we broke it.
So far, mine is being off for months, 😅, some guys said that after they took the vehicle to the dealer for service it got back to normal, I think mine never os going to get back to normal because I do the maintenance 😂
@tonyvalenti6614 it should, but honestly, it is better to check with the manufacturers and see if there are any differences between your 2024 and previous models.
Lol. And still doing it, can be a glitch, or something in the software that triggers this feature off for days and months until I or someone push the button again, I will post a video showing even how this feature had been disabled even after pushing the button a few times. Why? No idea, I just keep doing the same thing over and over... lol... maybe is not for all the Ridgelines, different components, factors or else is doing this, thats why I will like to see anyone else with something like this, everything started as an accident. 😎 and my blessing was found it!
My issue is that if I have that feature on, every time I take off from a stopping point my control sensor believes I’m about to crash and my car turn off. If I have this feature off my car runs perfectly fine
@wayne shannon Nope as soon your vehicle is in that list. If you are not sure just call the dealer with your Vin # and they will let you know more accurately, is not for all but for the ones with issues with the starter and NOT MANDATORY FOR ALL!, so far I didn't have any problems with mine and for that reason I am going to keep it the way it is, Honda stated that they will back up all those models on the list with 10 years warranty on the starters. So I have peace in mind.
@@07Review What does the upgrade do? How long and how many times did you have to start your truck up with the engine idle disabled before it finally went off on its own?
LOL... unfortunately not, if i do press the button again it will start shutting down the truck at every stop. Honestly that thing was good when the fuel prices were on the skys but not now.
LOL. Somehow after pressing a few times, I noticed this turned itself off but if I press it again it will take a while to turn off again probably all Ridgelines are like this or it was just my luck hopefully it works for everyone.
Sorry about that... the only thing I can tell you is to keep trying until you notice your truck stop using the "auto stop idle" and DO NOT PRESS THE BUTTON AGAIN, at some point will stop. Sorry for the time but as you like just facts some others asked me to go with details... lol. I tried my best with both sides.

Nice... mine has been out for almost a year now, 😆 and I am not going to fix it(mine is without the idlestopper v2).

Wow.... I just get a letter from Honda on a recall for this issue, they say they will fix 2 problems on this vehicle.
When the auto start light on the cluster is lit the system is turned off. I think you have your wires crossed in your head.

The light is only on if it's disabled
At least on the 2024 pilot

Does this work on a 2024 Ridgeline Black Edition?
@tonyvalenti6614 it should, but honestly, it is better to check with the manufacturers and see if there are any differences between your 2024 and previous models.
You never even showed how you did it 🤷🏻♂️ ??? Ughhhh
🤔
Hey kelvin, German said…it went off by itself and he didn’t even know how and why.

If you are not using your seatbelt the auto/stop (engine off) will not work
Mine is out, permanently not working. No matter what I do. For me it is ok
I believe that the reason that you are not getting the auto on/off is because the 115 V power 400 W is turned on.
No, mine is being off since new
My issue is that if I have that feature on, every time I take off from a stopping point my control sensor believes I’m about to crash and my car turn off. If I have this feature off my car runs perfectly fine
wow, honestly I would take it to the dealer right away, it is dangerous, still under warranty?
I just had this issue and looks to be consistent now. What did you do to fix it?
There is a TSB, take it to the dealer and they will update the software
Thanks, I am going to contact the dealer.
Will they charge to update?

@@Blaackcula 😆 yeah... almost with a few exceptions.
the auto stop wont engage if you have the A/C on
In mine it works with the A/C on, the only thing is that you can feel the difference when the idle on and off, the cooling quality is a little lower.
