    Thank you!
    I have had my 2023 Ridgeline for 18 months.
    I bought the Idlestopper about 9 months ago, but the place I bought it from had a somewhat involved video on installation that frustrated me.
    I finally decided to tackle this today, and watched your specific video and it was so simple!
    15 minutes later and success!
    Wow, I cannot believe how easy this was - your video was SPOT ON.
    Thank you very much!
    Best purchase for my Ridgeline!!!🎉

    Using the OEM connectors is a quality choice, I appreciate this being a true plug-and-play install! Depite having an Optima yellow the constant start-stop was still killing my battery. Satisfied customer!

    Easy installation and it works exactly as advertised. I couldn’t get the wireless charger unplugged but it’s not necessary; you can complete the installation with it still plugged in.

    This kit was a 15 minute job on my '23 HPD (no charging pad). It would have only been less than 10 minutes if I hadn't had a bit of problem pulling the console cover. My only complaint is the screws didn't pull out as fast as they did in the video, you guys need to fix that. 😛
    Definitely happy with the kit and results. I am light on the brakes after coming to a stop so the idle stop kicked in and out, then there is the slight lag when starting out. It had to go! THANKS FOR A GOOD EASY TO INSTALL KIT!

    Thank you, I can't stand it constantly turning off and starting up again. I am more concerned about the constant starting wearing down the starter vs saving a gallon of gas per tank, or whatever the idle burns.

    Amazing.. I have confirm but I think that light can be disabled from settings on the screen.
    They probably would have mentioned that if in fact it was that easy to remove warning light

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  6 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately that yellow light can’t be turned off in the settings. The yellow light comes on to confirm that the idle stop system is disabled. Why Honda chose yellow (normally a warning light color) is beyond comprehension. They did update the newer vehicles with a white light instead which is much better. The yellow idle stop off light is able to be forgotten about fairly easily after a few days and if you already disable the idle stop each drive via the off button, then you would be used to seeing it anyway.
      Thanks for your comment!

      A coin size piece of black electrical tape mostly hides the annoying yellow warning light.

    Will this one work for the passport 2020 it has the same connection if not why do you need to tap into the 12v?

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  3 месяца назад +1

      This one will not work for the 2020 Passport. The Passport requires the separate 12v power connection. The wiring between the vehicles is very different and not swappable unfortunately

    Unrelated question: at 2:15 the flat vertical panel (above the charge tray and below the small cubby), I want to screw in a RAM mount. Is there any wiring behind that plastic that will get in the way?
    Has any one else has done this?

      Thanks for you interest!
      Here’s a couple of links for you:

      www.sema.org/news-media/magazine/2021/08/federal-trade-commission-report-criticizes-anti-competitive-repair
      In short, aftermarket parts CAN be used without voiding your FULL warranty. At most(if found to be the cause of the problem) a manufacturer can only deny a warranty claim on parts that are directly attached to the aftermarket part being used.
      In the case of the Idlestopper, the module connects to the idle stop off switch and to the 12v round power socket. Both of these parts could potentially be not covered if the idlestopper module were to fail and cause an issue with either of the connecting parts. That’s being said, the idlestopper was designed to NOT cause any harm to the vehicle even in the event of failure.
      Hope this helps!

      Yes! We are working on a new 24 Ridgeline module. The wiring configuration changed from the 23 model year so we will have a new module and installation video. They are expected to be ready mid-late February.
      Please check back then or visit www.idlestopper.com to watch for availability.

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  Год назад +5

      Thanks for your interest! The difference between the v1 and v2 are the connection methods.
      v1 used a wire tap to attach at the idle stop off switch wiring.
      v2 uses ALL factory connectors and plugs directly into the factory wire harness and switch.

    OK this gets weird! Yesterday I turned on my auto fan button on my 2023 Ridgeline and the auto stop has stopped working with no off alert light on my dash! WTF is going on. I have ordered an Idlestopper module but for the past two days mine has not turned itself back on? I went for multiple test drives around the neighborhood and stopped at least 100 times and still no auto stop! I am extremely happy but I also would like to know WTF is going on? Take care!

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  9 месяцев назад +3

      The idle stop can not activate (turn engine off) if the climate is set to auto high or auto low. Also if in auto fan mode, the interior air temperature has to be within 5-7 degrees of requested temperature setting. This is most likely why once you pressed “auto” that the idle stop has not occurred.
      There are many other parameters for the idle stop to take place such as:
      -seatbelt fastened
      -battery charged
      -engine fully warmed up
      -brake pedal pressed firmly
      -rear defroster OFF
      -steering wheel stationary
      And several more things….
      That’s a huge frustration with idle stop in general is it’s unpredictability. If it would shut off at every stop it would be excessive but at least it would be predictable.
      Thanks for being a customer and I hope you enjoy your idlestopper module!

    Who in the right mind would want idle stop anyway .

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  Год назад +7

      😂 not really very many people! The factory idle stop is a terrible and unpredictable system in its operation. Also harmful to the battery/starter and causes premature failures.
      Honda should have made it an “opt in” feature instead of forcing it on each startup. Even calling it a “feature” is a stretch😊

    • @Eric.odriscoll

      I assume cheap fucks. The kind that always whine about the price of gas snd will drive further than necessary to save a few cents on gas.
      I can think of no good reason for this feature.... NONE!!
      I'd go as far to say that it's dangerous.

    Why at 3:13 it appears that there is an extra wire in video?? Why?

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  3 месяца назад

      It’s most likely due to stitched video. The Pilot and ridgeline share the same console and process. One video shot may have been better than another and since our time using these vehicles to shoot the video is limited, we use the best footage available. Good eye though!

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  6 месяцев назад +3

      The Idlestopper will NOT void your full warranty, the manufacturer isn’t allowed to void your entire warranty for the use of aftermarket parts legally because of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act law that was passed in 1975. At most, the dealer could deny a warranty diagnosis/repair claim on the connected to parts as they are connected directly to the idlestopper device. All other vehicle systems and parts would still be fully protected under your normal warranty and cannot be affected by you installing the module into your vehicle. The Idlestopper does not reprogram or change any vehicle settings. It simply presses the off button for you.
      Aftermarket parts are a normal part of the industry and manufacturers know it. Customers use many after market parts on their NEW vehicles:
      -Phone and usb adapters
      -drive cameras
      -radar scanners
      -wiper blades
      -tires
      -wheels
      These are just a few of the things that, by the above standard, can technically “void” parts of your warranty in a similar fashion to the idlestopper.
      Example;
      If a phone charger adapter that you got from eBay shorts out and damages your power socket or fuse in your car then the manufacturer isn’t going to cover the repairs needed. Does not void warranty, just denied coverage to that specific repair.
      Example;
      If the Idlestopper shorts out and blows the power socket fuse in your vehicle then the manufacturer isn’t going to cover the repairs. Does not void warranty, just denied coverage for that specific repair.
      Example;
      If you put aftermarket tires and wheels on your new car and have issues with balance or vibration then the manufacturer isn’t going to cover the repairs if they are needed to the wheels or tires. Does not void warranty, just denied coverage for that specific repair.

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  6 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately that won’t work because if you unplug the connection, there will be several warning lights that will pop up and be displayed at all times on your gauges. Plus there are a few other things that the connection controls such as traction mode which will also not operate if it’s not plugged in

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  8 месяцев назад

      We agree! Idle stop is the worst “feature” on the newer Honda vehicles. It causes added and unnecessary wear to many of the vehicle components all to possibly save a few cents is fuel. It’s a shame Honda forces the idle stop on each startup with no way to permanently disable the system..
