You guys really should make a skidplate to protect the new tank. It's obvious that the old ones took a few hits, and now the tank is exposed/ venerable.
I was visiting my in-laws in the town just north of Robby’s shop and on our way back from an adventure up Fairview Canyon we saw Hillbilly riding his Harley. Looked epic. Happy for him.
Yeah, "this skid plate will get smashed into the tank and leak fuel" So then cutting a hole in the skid plate, so Matt can smash the plastic tank? Makes no sense.
@alxace If it had been left as it was in a short time, the edge of the skid plate would wear a hole in it. Especially being around all the sand. The new plastic fuel tanks are resistant to damage. But not to metal constantly rubbing from vibrations.
Robbie - Ford put different bolts in at different stations during assembly, with the operators only needing one or maybe 2 sizes of driver at each station. They don’t consider repairs do things differently and the wasted time the body shop goes through - which is one reason why insurance costs are high
Cody. Damn Greybeard. Listen to that guy. Nice to see him on camera again. I know it's not his thing, but he's a good teacher. The bloke I've tried to be in my field over 30 years.
Robbie and his team does the absolute best bodywork I have ever seen in my life!! You can bet if anything I own, ever needs body-work done to it, I will take it from here at home, and load it onto a trailer and take it to his shop. Make no mistake about that. I will do it.❤
Air bags please!! While you have the bed off and before yo put the flat deck on. That truck is always squatted so low in the back even with the gooseneck trailers because that off road wrecker is so heavy. Air bags would let it run level and the compressor would also give Matt an option to air his cars back up when he gets off the trail.
the fuel tank skid plate should be put back in. of course it will need modification (or replaced entirely) its just too easy to punch a hole in a plastic fuel tank
I love watching Robbie's spraying action. He's so confident and smooth. It's always a pleasure to watch this crew working together, they do great work. I hope Matt will finally have enough fuel so he doesn't run out.
