Im the little one sitting beside Mr. Como. Our choir sang with Mr. Como and several other of the greatest voices of all time. I’ll never forget their voices or these performances.

Oh my! What at treat to come on to this Kennedy Center Honoree. I love Sinatra ever since a young kid, there nobody that sang like him. Soon after Perry Como I discovered and I love all he ever did...they both number one's to me for over 65 years now. Perry & Frank were different in sound and style, but they each amazing to me all my life. Perry has a voice like no other...my sister fell in love with the incredibly very handsome Como, named her son after Perry, then her daughter after Patti Page...Man, those were the best days in great singers as these two, plus a good number more we could list. Thanks for posting this video. It made my night.
I’ve been in love with Frank Sinatra since I was 14. I’m 91 and I still love him. My family knows and every holiday I received tapes, glasses with his picture, you name it, if it has Frank on it ,I’ve got it!! He is, was, definitely one of a kind!!🌺🌈
Perry reminds us of just some of the unselfish things Frank has done that nobody talks about. Paid for friends funerals, paid for their hospital stays and doctor bills, help build and fund all the VA Hospitals and much more without asking to ever be acknowledged or thanked, thats a peoples person. People never hear all the good he does all you hear about are the so called bad things. Frank you are missed !!!!!
Frank and Perry were so different , where their personalities are concerned and the way they performed.I like both of them. But to Perry I can listen all day through singing in his quiet ,unpretentious and understated way. They are both great in their way.
As a young kid growing up in NYC late 1960's I would hear my father play Frank Sinatra songs on the jukebox inside the neighborhood social club where we lived on the weekends ... Bushwick Brooklyn NYC ... I remember asking my Popz for a dollar to play his songs sitting in front of the speaker box while sitting on a milk crate ... the older men enjoying the music as they played cards dominoes etc ... as I got older ... I read where Quincy Jones and Frank worked together on a few of his albums ... what a surprise ... as stated by Quincy himself ... We became lifelong friends ... when Frank passed he bestowed his pinky diamond ring to me ... and have never taken it off since his passing ... [ Work with Frank Sinatra ] Quincy Jones first worked with Frank Sinatra in 1958 when invited by Princess Grace to arrange a benefit concert at the Monaco Sporting Club.[41] Six years later, Sinatra hired him to arrange and conduct Sinatra's second album with Count Basie, It Might as Well Be Swing (1964). Jones conducted and arranged the singer's live album with the Basie Band, Sinatra at the Sands (1966).[42] Jones was also the arranger/conductor when Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, and Johnny Carson performed with the Basie orchestra in June 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri, in a benefit for Dismas House. The fund-raiser was broadcast to movie theaters around the country and eventually released on Vhs.[43] Later that year, Jones was the arranger/conductor when Sinatra and Basie appeared on The Hollywood Palace TV show on October 16, 1965.[44] Nineteen years later, Sinatra and Jones teamed up for 1984's L.A. Is My Lady.[45] Jones said, “ Frank Sinatra took me to a whole new planet. I worked with him until he passed away in '98. He left me his ring. I never take it off. Now, when I go to Sicily, I don't need a passport. I just flash my ring.

Ol Blue Eyes, the Chairman of the Board! I was lucky enough to see him, Liza & Sammy Davis when they visited Aus in the 90’s. Worth the almost $1000 Australian! He was brilliant! His music will live on forever, outlasting the rubbish of today!
I too saw them on that tour in Phoenix Arizona, USA. Dean Martin was supposed to tour with them but got sick, his last illness, and so Frank asked Liza if she would step in. They were great.
Simply the greatest singer ever! His collaboration with Nelson Riddle, Count Basie and Quincy Jones has produced unforgettable music. An evergreen by Gershwin, Cole Porter to name a few became a new standard when sung by Frank Sinatra and there were many of them. Frank Sinatra: always in my heart, always in my head when singing a song myself! Thanks, Frank
You know what if Jimmy Durante came walking out on that stage with those kids behind them and I've been more funnier than ever because young at heart would have been his favorite and that would have been one entertaining moment Jimmy Durante with a bunch of kids didn't you probably look at one kid and say and tell me kid what have you accomplished 😁😁😁😁
Its amazing that its been 40 years since this ceremony, & 25 years since we lost Frank, but even 100 years from now, there will be 4 artists that will be listened too & talked about long after we're long gone- Elvis, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra & Michael Jackson! Mr Sinatra, as the great Don Rickles, your buddy said, you truly were the Boss!!
Sinatra, the consummate artist. He achieved a personal connection with his audience, whether performing in large venues, intimate clubs, or when hearing him at home by yourself. You never tire of his work because you can never tire of quality. What a remarkable individual. I will enjoy his work for my entire life.

@Yehuda Braxton i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Frank was one of those rare vocalists that could take a song from any era, made popular by male or female, and make it his own, no questions asked. He was a phenomenon.
Perry Como was 71 here...still sounded great. Too bad all of the greats who had Christmas specials (Sinatra, Como, Crosby, Williams, Martin) are all gone.
I agree, when I think of them, I also think of my Nana,. Her brothers and sisters When they all passed, Our family split up Those were the days Now I would,. I'm only 52. Lol

Heavenly! Frank was the IT guy of our childhood dreams growing up. I was not of bobbysoxer age, but years later was introduced to him by my parents, who were. His songs played in our home throughout the day and night, entertaining us and making life swoonable. It’s possible that I am the happy individual I am thanks to his beautiful, magical voice.
I always thought of Mr. Sinatra as singing a song as the person who wrote it had intended it to be delivered.....his artistry was bringing each and every song to life....the was never anyone better at that....I hope that Ava and Frank were able to work things out....
Frank Sinatra has always been my favorite male singer. Judy Garland was my favorite female singer. I guess I always liked stars who had a good and 'not so good' reputation. God bless them both R.I.P.
Actually, I think that Streisand is the best woman singer! Also, if he had lived, even Sinatra would acknowledge that Elvis Presley would have received the Kennedy Center Honor for Lifetime Achievement eventually!
His music was a part of the lives of millions of people. Some couldn't remember when it wasn't a part of their life. His music was played at parties, weddings, graduations, anniversaries and wherever else a lot of people were celebrating something.
FRANK WAS CLASS BUT SO WAS PERRY COMO TWO GREAT ENTERTAINERS WHO TO ME WILL BE ALWAYS LOVED NOT JUST FOR WHAT THEY DID IN THE ENTERTAINMENT FEILD BUT OUT OF IT AS WELL BOTH NEVER FORGOTTEN AND NEVER DATED
On the occasion of the Sinatra 100 centennial celebration, one is taken by how remarkable Sinatra's success evolved: he was the child of Italian immigrants, who dreamed of creating a new style of singing American popular standards by Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart, Johnny Mercer, Cole Porter, Cy Coleman, Duke Ellington and Jerome Kern. He strove constantly to work with the best composers, arrangers, conductors, and musicians, and to maintain the highest level of musicianship, although he could not read music himself. Sinatra created a body of work in recordings, films, and television that is unparalleled in the entertainment industry.
Indeed he did: his recordings for Colombia (1953-1962) are unsurpassed by any artistic metric. The quality of the songwriting, arrangements, instrumentation, conducting, and of course his superb, flawless vocals will never be equaled. It was one of those magnificent phenomenons that just happened in the right time and place with the right singer.
Lois Wright I was brought up listening to Perry ,now Ime 60 n my beloved dad Francis ,is gone every party Ma Da ,would give us a Como Classic, ! I think of you ! Then later ! Impossible ! Etc ,Sinatra n Crosby were magic but Perry so effortless ,my mam n dads last party Their Diamond ,the first dance ! Some enchanted evening ! By Perry beautiful memory of my parents James xxxx thank u
That is so true. I have seen Frank Sinatra on 3 occasions. He was superb. I've always felt Frank Sinatra was a poet in motion, a great interpreter (not necessarily the best) of light verse. Just listen to his version of ole man river: excellent. Perry Como, who I had the pleasure of seeing in Dublin (and shook his hand) was,in my opinion, an infinitely better singer. Soft , warm, a beautifully modulated voice, lovely phrasing, with a lovely interpretation. We won't see their like again.
@@SilverGram ...Yes, he was the epitome of talent and class, without the pretense, scandals or drama that plagued Sinatra and his career. Just a superb voice; his musical legacy speaks for itself.
He achieved the same level than Bing Crosby, which is a lot to say, the two are the legends of popular music. Nobody else is at that high level. God bless them
I think he WAS the top entertainer, paul, for probably about 55 out of his nearly 60-year career! His phrasing, enunciation of words, breath control, and the emotion that he put in those songs was straight from his heart, you could tell, especially on those sad ballads, which no one coud sing like him No wonder the bobby-soxers swooned over him, he was a very charismatic guy! Even at the end of his career, his audience loved him. I met him when we were both performing at No. Lake Tahoe, me in a lower piano-bar and him as the main attraction, of course. He was a very generous and gracious person and a marvelous host. I got to have dinner with him and several others a couple of times at Tahoe. That cemented my adoration for his singing, which I had had a long time, but also for him as a person. I attended several of his concerts and was invited back-stage several times after that. I'll never forget the man, my favorite singer of all time! In spite of what some think and say, he was a very good man, gave away millions of dollars to sometimes the needy he only heard about. He had a good heart. Vulnerable at certain times in his life, but that only made him stronger and better as a singer -- he really felt some of those sad ballads he sang -- the emotion was in his voice! A perfectionist, consummate performer, superb artist and incomparable talent.
Sinatra alone sits on the throne of modern male singers. There’s a whole 2nd tier of great male singers of the era - Tony Bennett, Vic Damone, Joe Williams, Jack Jones, Mel Torme, Billy Eckstine, Sammy Davis, Bobby Darin, to name a few - but in terms of sheer vocal ability, instinct, heart and musicianship, the only one who ever equalled Sinatra was Nat King Cole.
There is a funny photo in which Frank is standing behind a slightly worried Perry Como, who is seated in a barbershop chair, while Sinatra, scissors and comb in hand, pretends to give him a haircut. Como did was a barber by trade before becoming a singing star. Both were great, as also was that Kelly guy who made the intro.
'Nobody could touch this man'. He was simply the greatest singer of popular music.
I love how excited he looks when Perry Como comes out. RIP to these legends
For a brief moment, I was sitting with my mom and dad. Hearing these artists will always refill my soul. And the kids made it very special. Well done

Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, and Frank Sinatra! These people were legends what we need today.
And the best of them all, Bing Crosby

I'll never forget the man, my favorite singer of all time! In spite of what some think and say, he was a very good man, gave away millions of dollars to sometimes the needy he only heard about. He had a good heart. Vulnerable at certain times in his life, but that only made him stronger and better as a singer -- he really felt some of those sad ballads he sang -- the emotion was in his voice! A perfectionist, consummate performer, superb artist and incomparable talent.
Was the top entertainer, not the top 5, he was the BEST that ever lived.
Don't think I've heard anything Frank Sinatra hasn't done without class and a great singing voice, wish he had lasted forever!!!
Well, he has lasted forever, thanks to the Internet.

Frank sinatra, perry como, andy Williams, Tony bennett. They were my Grandma's (89) heartthrobs, back on her day
