Agreed. Good move. It has paid off big time. Ace is happy being a solo. KISS is happy with Tommy. Eric is a phenom. All is well and the fans benefit. That's how it should be. This is a great performance.
This is one of my favorite KISS songs. Over the last couple of decades I've searched for every bootleg and live version of this song I can find. I think this is the closest Gene has ever gotten to getting the lyrics right (he always fucks up the last verse before the solo).
I've got this DVD and I must say it doesn't disappoint. On this song I like Eric's camera view I don't know but something about Eric's shots are pretty good all of them are but on this song it's Eric.
I don't believe he ever said anything about Ace ever playing on this song. He was simply saying he likes Tommy's playing better than Ace's. However, on the "Farewell" tour, Ace was playing songs from eras he was not a part of, which just seemed weird, and of course, he couldn't play any of it the way it was recorded.
wasn't an album at the time. Thats Tommy Thayer, he's been with em for a while now. This was recorded in 2004, I saw them on this tour. They were badass.
I dare anybody of the KISS haters, to get up on the stage and do this peformance themselves, especially when they are 55 + years old. Ace and Peter are too old and tired for touring with KISS today.Their substance abuses has taken its toll But no doubt about that the classic Kiss 1973 - 1980 was the best ever. But I am just glad they are still around these days. And they can probably only do it with replacements for Ace and Peter. I iove them and miss them though.
It breaks my heart to see KISS tarnished like this... The greatest creation was Started with Gene Simmons,Paul Stanley,Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley and it breaks my heart to see it tarnished with two imposters in Ace and Peter's make-up
And likewise, when Ace and Peter rejoined the band and they first started rehearsing together again, Ace and Peter would stop Gene and Paul and tell them they were playing songs wrong. It went both ways. Naturally, when you're a road manager for a band as long as Tommy was, you'll be more on top of things than a member of the band who hadn't been in the fold for sixteen years.
I love this song & always have. Over the years & the multitude of line-up changes. I orginally hated Eric Carr just cause he was new, but I eventually realized he was a MUCH better drummer than Peter. While I can appreciate what Vinnie, Mark, & Bruce did, Ace has alawys been my favourite. Always thought Eric & Tommy should be wearing new & original make-up. That way fans wouldn't bitch about it. I am going to get hell for this, but I think Eric Singer is the best drummer they've ever had.
Obviusly it was edited, but only a few thing, for example in some songs Paul doesn't sing on the chorus, you can hear that in an Instant Live Album... they put Paul's voice for the dvd, but the rest is all real, Kiss has never sounded this tight!!! love the current Line up
Exactly!!! I wish more people would realize that. Have you heard the new songs my brother? They have been leaked onto youtube. You should check them out... not a bad song in the bunch.
Ok I am a huge KISS fan but I have a question about this performance. During the chorus I'm pretty sure I can hear Pauls voice, but he isn't singing into the mic, whats up with that?
Actually the makeup belongs to Gene and Paul. Peter and Ace sold the marketing rights to them years ago. And as far as the band being tarnished,Ace and Peter started the tarnishing long before Tommy and Eric came along.
@hyena419 and @keyblok I hold my pick like this aswell, There is no PROPER way to hold a pick. Being a guitarist/musician is about developing your own technique, if everyone played the same textbook way then music would be very boring:) KISS rule thanks for the vid "I Like It" :)
This song doesn't get enough notoriety. This is one of the heaviest, yet catchiest songs you'll ever hear.
+Gregory Alan Bailey notoriety means being known for having done something bad. So basically what you said is this song doesn't get enough hate
Totally agree! I actually figured this riff out by accident. Simple but effective.
Gregory Alan Bailey touche
Best album they did in the 80s and the best song from it. It's a shame how overlooked it was.
One of the best songs of KISS!!!!
Eines der besten Lieder von KISS!!!
ジーンさんの歌声は、味があるし、調和が良いです
Eric Singer on drums is one of the best I've ever seen
gracias por subir esta rola de kiss...la tocan perfectamente y con un sonido que te prende chido...kiss forever...
No other band like KISS. Just listen to this amazing song.
one of kiss best songs!
Agreed. Good move. It has paid off big time. Ace is happy being a solo. KISS is happy with Tommy. Eric is a phenom. All is well and the fans benefit. That's how it should be. This is a great performance.
You Better Watch Out!!!?? Cause Kiss is the War Machine!!!!
This is one of my favorite KISS songs. Over the last couple of decades I've searched for every bootleg and live version of this song I can find. I think this is the closest Gene has ever gotten to getting the lyrics right (he always fucks up the last verse before the solo).
the guitars are really heavy in this version, love it!
Just another example of how the big boys do it!!! Amazing performance.
i absoulutely love this song. i love kiss. more of that please
I've got this DVD and I must say it doesn't disappoint. On this song I like Eric's camera view I don't know but something about Eric's shots are pretty good all of them are but on this song it's Eric.
KISS was around when Elvis was still alive in the mid to late 70s. LEGENDS ALL..
One of the best Kiss-songs ever! A really good live-version aswell! :D
Damn...I'm a Die Hard Maiden fan but KISS has heavy crunchy mean song here.
That whole Creatures of the Night album is pretty solid. Unfortunately they fell off from Animalize through Hot in the Shade.
muy buena buena buena canción, rock al 100% y los 4 en todo el explendor del metal...Gene excelente con el fuego...kiss forever
Tommy Thayer was having such a great time over there!
This was 100% better than I expected! They rarely do this song. Thanks!
one of my top 5 favorite kiss songs
KISS ROCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!
that song is a war machine in itself !!!!!
yeahhhhhhhh rock n roll !!!!
finally i was looking for a live version that i could hear bass
love kiss and love this song
Hopefully KISS next tour will be like Rock The Nation. So many rare songs were played during this tour.
This is how the big boys do it!!!
This song is awesome! :D I love it! HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD, KISS!
Best version EVER! What a fucking tour this was, doesn't get much better than this!
dont get how american crowds stay so still, in south america they would go nuts.
exactly
man, when they performed this live in my home-town back in august I went NUTS! I was like 'they're seriously playing this?! YES!!!"
My ring tone
War Machine makes me imagine all the wars throughout history! 🤘🎸🪖
KISS...ITS A BAND !!! DOESNT MATTER WHOS PLAYING AT CONCERT!...THEY ARE UNIQUE!!!!!!!!!!....TELL ME NOT...
I LOVE KISS ;)
KISS has been keep in' it Brockmire, for over 40 years! They are sick!
There is no other like KIZZ, nor will there ever be.
Sometimes you just live in the moment and forget the lyrics for two sec, +++ they make a great show!! ;)
IT´S ROCK &ROOLL
Ich Liebe die Jungs.
what a great version, they should play this nowadays!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
I love Eric Singer's arms!!!!!
I LIKE IT !
look at eric singer go in this one! what a beast🔥🔥

Yeah, there's an Instant live of dc and Virginia, both of them were used for the dvd
wasn't an album at the time. Thats Tommy Thayer, he's been with em for a while now. This was recorded in 2004, I saw them on this tour. They were badass.
singer is the best
Paul's Guitar play on playback? 0:54 - 0:58
No. He's hammering on and pulling off with his fingers to sound the notes.
@RodolfoOful You're absolutely right!!!!... Best drummer in all of rock'n'roll!!!
❤it
@KissandIronMaiden
KILLIN' IT!
Songs like "Do You Love Me?" and "I Still Love You" show Paul's awesomeness and songs like "War Machine" and "Domino" show Gene's.
it breaks my heart to think of Peter Criss in the band....the Rock The Nation tour was the best since the Revenge Tour...ALive 35 even better...
Powervision does so u can follow one member in the song. It's really cool! specially Eric Singer in this song :D
haha oh yeah one of the best song of KISS
awesome

Greatness.
@cobradvs Yeah thats the drummer singing. If you look closely on the mini screen you can see him singing.
HELL YEA!!!!!
does any one have any KISS HOUSTON RECENT CONCERTS ON VIDEO?
yes they do :)
i love to watch tommy try to imitate ace's style on a solo that ace never actually played.
It breaks my heart to see KISS tarnished like this... The greatest creation was Started with Gene Simmons,Paul Stanley,Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley and it breaks my heart to see it tarnished with two imposters in Ace and Peter's make-up
BOOM KISS \m/
ERIC SINGER RULEEEEEEES!!!!
i downloaded them with emule, but if u have msn i can send it song by song
I liked watching Ace try to imitate himself which he had to have someone teach him how to do
Eric's angle is the Best kk
Kool azz video

KISS LIVE 2004 IN LOS ANGELES
I love this song & always have. Over the years & the multitude of line-up changes. Fuckin lovee this song!!
can u play it?

my first concert will be eather AC/DC or kiss, eather one KICKASS!!!
??? wanna expand on that?
Eric singer and Paul stanley is so fucking cool!
i like erics stick trick on this one
Where was this filmed
Wow, its sad to see ppl still upset about Tommy being in the band. Tommy puts his own spin on solos... even Bruce didnt play Aces solos the same.
Before Kiss could go on their reunion tour Tommy Thayer had to reteach Ace alot of the guitar riffs and go through alot of the original music.
good
fuckin bad ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly!!! I wish more people would realize that. Have you heard the new songs my brother? They have been leaked onto youtube. You should check them out... not a bad song in the bunch.

warrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr machine o seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :
fuckin! metal!
Well, something tells me you don't get that at a Coldplay concert.
yeah they did a cover of that but not KISS' "War MAchine"
@hyena419 and @keyblok
I hold my pick like this aswell, There is no PROPER way to hold a pick. Being a guitarist/musician is about developing your own technique, if everyone played the same textbook way then music would be very boring:) KISS rule thanks for the vid "I Like It" :)
@emptyandgray Yeah that might be it. It does sound and awful lot like Paul though. But you are probably right.
well, I honestly think the riff sounds better in dropped tuning. I love this song any way it is though. \m/
お休みなさ〜い
KISS kickin ass as always. Paul's getting older tough, not as good as the 70z nd 80z..
