@@embervillegame I love that you guys can openly listen and say stuff like that. Ive seen devs do that before but it never fails to feel like a positive interaction. There was a game that was very special to my wife and I and I sent the devs a message about a small idea for the sequel that would be meaningful to us and they were so receptive to it and thanked us for playing their game and said that they loved the idea and that they would be more than happy to look into our suggestion and that they thought it was a good idea. Games are meant to be shared and to bring people together. I love when gaming can be a positive community and people can treat other people like humans. Even the simple comment replay goes a long way to foster that sense of community and humanity. Thank you for that.
My only critique would be that the skating-style movement is really off putting, especially in a combat based game. If I press a button, I want to go to that intended location at an intended distance based on the held duration.
thank god im not the only one. Game looks nice but I would never play it because the movement look so fing floaty and I hated that in every game I ever encountered it in
Thanks for pointing this out, @rahc7319! We’re aware of the movement's current feel and are actively working to improve it as development progresses. Your input is valuable and helps confirm we’re on the right track to make it even better!
I actually disagree. It kinda shows the characters power…definitely not a deal breaker for me personally. Went to wishlist and realized I already had it on my wishlist.
One aspect I would love to see is a greenhouse. A place you can grow items for Potions! Potion making is something I love doing and its fun to make your own buffs/heals/throwables. I'm not sure how this game will turn out, but being able to craft things is a nice bonus. If we get the opportunity to brew things, I'll be happy. Otherwise, everything looks solid so far!
I love seeing the different aspects of the game and being like “oh they must have drawn inspiration from this game!” Seeing a lot of games that gave inspiration to this game from this short video. Looks really good, excited to see to see the progress!
Feedback: If that dodge/dash is the same for every class it looks like the distance traveled it a bit too long. Or, you could have the mage class levitate, rogue dodge further/through enemies etc. Having different types of mobility skills on different classes is cool i think.
If you dont already have it, I recommend having some small effect (and or sound) when you pick up an item to create a tactile sensation to picking up an item.
I wondered why he was so adamant that Star Citizen wasn't a scam. Then I found out his $200k Kickstarter company Nectar Game Studios did even worse. At least SC exists... Nectar game studios used 200k in funding to pay themselves salaries to work on a game.... Ran out of money and then basically told backers "There won't be refunds. Cry about it"
It's always so heartwarming to see people making a game for the sake of the game, and fun, and being happy about and proud of what they're making. Wishlisted. Keep up the good work, Cohh and Cygnus Cross!
Oh man you had me at "no classes". My favourite game of all time was Dransik (Ashen Empires) before Iron Will Games took a steaming dump on it. One of the best features that was lost was a classless system where you could make any monstrosity you wanted. Heavy armour magic wielder? Do it. Dexterity and small blades build that can also cast thunder strike? Why not.
I like the concept were you level up the skill if by doing something. its like the system of a manhwa. I suggest you refer to those manhwa to polish the skill system. Like you do not have idea how to get the skill so it will be a surprise or some kind of exploration. You can also get new skills when you reach level of two or more specific skills.
Love to see all the improvements! It's coming along nicely. Now for the nitpick part: I don't really like the title "I am making a game". For as long as I've followed Cohh he's always been very supportive of games and game devs, as perfectly shown in this video, and it just sound wrong in my head. Would much rather see "We are making a game" or "I am helping make a game" instead, which recognizes Cohh's part in the development, but also doesn't distort the image for those who are just hearing about this the first time.
emberville looks awesome, and i have full confidence in your(Cohh) game design decisions which will make this game incredible. i've had this game wishlisted since the first moment i've heard about this game, and i cannot wait to end up looting everything in this game.
This is awesome, first time seeing this and I love the ideas behind it. I might be mistaken but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 2D game with this style of loot economy.
Really hope that each building has multiple tiers, perhaps even options ( healer that can upgrade to alchemist or to druid, for example) . You can get some inspiration from tower defense games
this already looks serviceable to early access imo, at least from the looks and details. lets hope the next video showcase is gonna be even stronger. 👍
Been getting into demos and early access games for a bit now and just wish-listed. The combat looks nice and snappy, and I always love interesting itemization.
Only negative I can see so far is the floaty/sliding movement. If I can have a Moonlighter style combat system with some decent farming and town building mechanics, I'm sold. Look forward to more content.
1. I want that. (Think Shirou UBW Abridged) 2. Co-op? (I understand if it doesn’t work.) 3. Mods? (I totally want SVE and Ridgeside Village style content additions) 4. I can imagine all sorts of excellent dlc with new dungeons and additions to the town (see my love of SVE and RSV). 5. Please include sprinklers as an upgrade for the farming. No sprinklers can make farming not fun.
Sounds like the perfect game I have been looking for for so long ! Please add a LOT of customization options for our house and town. I love building my houses and customize them, if I can suggest the project zomboid approach, where you destroy things to learn how to build them, enabling you to build any props present in the game. Also another great idea that I loved is owning your store and selling what you loot from dungeons and upgrading your store. My first game like this was azure dreams on ps1 if I remember correctly and more recently moonlighter, also available on mobile. Which I love, it's perfect to play on my iPad. I hope your game will also be available on mobile as well🙏
So excited!!!! Can’t wait for the game, it’s what I’ve been wanting and looking for in a game for years. Also can’t wait for a console release eventually!!!
the town needs a museum that we can fill with ancient artifacts, weapons and armor displays!
Yas! That would be awesome
Great idea! A museum would be a fantastic way to showcase player achievements and add a layer of storytelling. We’ll keep this in mind.
Sdv in my heart baby.
@@embervillegame Heck ya!

Ease In/Easy Out works really well as an animation principle; but it shouldn't really be applied to player's control inputs, more just a visual thing.
Thanks for pointing this out, @rahc7319! We’re aware of the movement's current feel and are actively working to improve it as development progresses. Your input is valuable and helps confirm we’re on the right track to make it even better!

Yeah that is really the first thing that immediately made me go "Eeew I don't like that... don't make me slide unless I am walking on ice"

The only thing I don't really care for from this video is the slidey movement
yeah hopefully they make the movement a little less floaty but otherwise the game looks fantastic
@Ares38D agreed this was my only complaint that I had from watching the game
The game and cohh being so proud of his work and all the noticeable efforts he is putting in puts a big smile on my face. So proud ☺️
“I am producing a game”
I hate that statement whenever streamer "makes" a game, which means hiring a team to produce him/her a game.
I love seeing the different aspects of the game and being like “oh they must have drawn inspiration from this game!” Seeing a lot of games that gave inspiration to this game from this short video. Looks really good, excited to see to see the progress!
Ember Valley
"Pixel Perfect Hitbox" God damnit Cohh I Love you x
Of course it's going to have TONS of loot Cohh is a loot goblin (so am i)
Feedback: If that dodge/dash is the same for every class it looks like the distance traveled it a bit too long. Or, you could have the mage class levitate, rogue dodge further/through enemies etc. Having different types of mobility skills on different classes is cool i think.
Congratulations Cohh. I can see how excited you are for the project.
Went to wishlist the game...was already wishlist 🤷♂️
Game looks great.
I did that during his most recent showcase. I went to wish list and it said I wishlisted back in August.
Coh, i'm so happy for you in your journey. This is amazing and is definitely something i'm interested in checking out! Thanks for the update!
Bro looks like a tall Tyrion Lannister
If you dont already have it, I recommend having some small effect (and or sound) when you pick up an item to create a tactile sensation to picking up an item.
Ill believe it when it actually launches in full I remember project Nectar
I wondered why he was so adamant that Star Citizen wasn't a scam.

I love that its essentially a 2D pixel art Outward... kinda. The rebuilding town mechanic is especially Three Brothers-esque. Amazing! Can't wait.
just wishlisted! Looks cool Coh, best of luck man
This game is visually stunning. Listened to your description of the game and immediately wishlisted.
Co-op and controller support would make this an instant buy for wife and I.
literally just said the same thing lol
It's always so heartwarming to see people making a game for the sake of the game, and fun, and being happy about and proud of what they're making.
Wishlisted. Keep up the good work, Cohh and Cygnus Cross!
Thank you
Damn this is coming along nicely. I love that the skill system is reflecting that found in Ultima Online and Everquest. Brilliant, wishlisted so hard.
Good luck with the game Cohh!
Cohh deserves everything good in this world and more. I'm gonna look up the game and wishlist it, eventually buy when it comes out. Can't wait ❤
I love that so many non-corpo community people, like Cohh, Dunkey etc., start to make/fund independent games! 😍
I am actually hyped for this game, it looks really good, i love cosy style games like this as Sun Haven is one of my favourites thus far.
Oh man you had me at "no classes". My favourite game of all time was Dransik (Ashen Empires) before Iron Will Games took a steaming dump on it. "loot heavy game" ... *heavy breathing*
You should 100% add pets to this game. Also mounts would be awesome!!!!!!! This game looks so alive and peaceful. I cannot wait.
Looking good my one critique would be on the slidey movement other than that looking great.
This actually looks and sounds awesome! I will certainly be looking more at this in the future!
I am intrigued

Lovely stuff, Cohh. Can't wait to try it.
*Cohh:* You're gonna be alble to walk up... Chicken!! - 02:28 😄
How big is his monitor? It's like he was tracking a real chicken in his room. 😅
Just wishlisted. Looks like a lot of fun. Can't wait!
this is one of the games i am most hyped for! been following the updates about the developing of this game for a long time now :)
Game looks awesome! Very happy for you!
Looks amazing, it's pretty much ticking all of my boxes. Wish you and your team nothing but the best and can't wait for the full game.
Cohh! This looks amazing and right up my ally!!! I IMEDIATLY Wish listed!!! Can't wait!
This ticks a lot of my boxes, will definitely keep an eye out and try the EA !
love the "it's in the world, so why can't you use it?"...that is so epic..love that, can´t wait to play it
Love to see all the improvements! It's coming along nicely.

Pretty stoked to play this game. Thanks for sharing the update Cohh!
I can see a lot of the influences. And I’m ready. Be looking for the beta access.

i've had this game wishlisted since the first moment i've heard about this game, and i cannot wait to end up looting everything in this game.
This really Is a great example of "a game made by somebody who loves games", something sorely lacking these days, I'm really looking forward to this!
"things you wouldn't expect" runs into the chicken and hits it :D
didnt even have to watch once you said all the stuff youre adding i knew this is gonna be GOTC
This is awesome, first time seeing this and I love the ideas behind it. I might be mistaken but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 2D game with this style of loot economy.
This looks awesoooome, cannot wait! Never wish listed a game so fast
instant wishlist. Usage based skill systems are literally my absolute favorite of all time.
love the art! looks so charming
kick some ass man, this gonna be awesome, happy to see you adding your passion to any game project
The game looks incredible Cohh!!
Absolutely LOVE what your team is doing. I can't wait to get my hands on EA.
Looks like my kind of game! Wishlisted.
I'm really excited; it looks like an awesome challenger for the Heroes of Hammerwatch dev team for a single player game
I can't thumbs-up any harder!
wishlist and follow, instantly :D
This game looks great @cohh! An seeing the passion you have while talking about it, I sure, without any doubt, that it will be awesome! 🔥🔥
Really hope that each building has multiple tiers, perhaps even options ( healer that can upgrade to alchemist or to druid, for example) . You can get some inspiration from tower defense games

you gotta admit cohh is a marketing genius
This conceptually reminds me of the Dark Cloud games. Looks cool!
Ultima Online as a reference?! Count me in, boss!
Only negative I can see so far is the floaty/sliding movement. If I can have a Moonlighter style combat system with some decent farming and town building mechanics, I'm sold. Look forward to more content.
I have thoughts... This is awesome! Godspeed to you and the team! :)
Good luck Cohh.
FYI I picked up a copy of Dwarven Realms the other day, been playing it a bit, it's a fun game. Thanks for the heads up.
so excited.. cant wait to play.. when u said tons of loot... uff..
The animation is sooo good.
Gotta be honest with you man one of the first things I would do with this sorts of games is to mod it so I can have more inventory
I am so stupidly excited for this!
this needs to be built with the steamdeck in mind
2D art games aren't generally my cup of tea, but this definitely looks and sounds very promising. I'll keep an eye on this!
Woah an ARPG, with some stardew valley crossover, with story, and the progression system for the town, all sound very cool.
any plans on physical release for switch.
Looks and sounds great so far! Would love to have a combat pet to follow you around like a dog for example. Or possibly a pet/summoner class! 😅
Game looks cool, I'm excited to cop to near the end or end of Early access but enjoy seeing this updates!
I'd love to play this with a friend or two. Looks great!
I would like to play it RIGHT NOW. It looks perfect
Core Keeper already exists
Was gonna wishlist this, but it's already on there haha
1. I want that. (Think Shirou UBW Abridged)
2. Co-op? (I understand if it doesn’t work.)
3. Mods? (I totally want SVE and Ridgeside Village style content additions)
4. I can imagine all sorts of excellent dlc with new dungeons and additions to the town (see my love of SVE and RSV).
5. Please include sprinklers as an upgrade for the farming. No sprinklers can make farming not fun.
Everyone thinks they're ConcernedApe these days smh lmao
will there be ranged weapons ??
Yeah this sounds like everything I love in a game, I'M IN!!!!!!
is this the baldur gates of stardew valley sir?
wishlisted and following. Good luck
i didnt know this was your game. Instant wishlist
Wishlisting ASAP
Sounds like the perfect game I have been looking for for so long ! Please add a LOT of customization options for our house and town. So excited!
bro made corekeeper
Please have controller support and online co-op! Sounds perfect for it.
Sweet stuff Cohh, wishlisted.
This looks like something I would want to play on the switch.
So excited!!!! Can’t wait for the game, it’s what I’ve been wanting and looking for in a game for years. Also can’t wait for a console release eventually!!!
