@@84ceasar any time the ball lands in fair territory and hops over the fence it's a ground rule double. It has to clear the back fence in the air to be a home run.

Even if you aren't a Cards fan, and I'm not, you have to respect the raw power and skills in this team. Many teams would have half heartedly made a showing, but never would have actually tried to score 5 runs in the bottom of the 9th. Bravo.

The September Cardinal devil magic is in full affect
Cards have won or swept their last 4 or 5 series. This is NOT what other contenders want to hear as the Pennant Race is starting to heat up. Brewers aren't going to catch us, STL is 9.5 up on Milwaukee and the Brewers are struggling to pull out wins. This will be a good race to the finish for St. Louis.

I love the Cardinals. They are my #2 team I will always root for if my #1 team doesn't make it to the finals. My Dodgers have had more comeback wins in 2022 than any other team.

What I loved most about this game , was the commentators and their chemistry. One voice I recognized the other I didn’t … they were a great team

Look at the momentum in this bottom of the 9th inning. Stadium was very subdued fan wise until Nolans' double and then just 'go with the flow' to a win. This Cards victory was a wonderful one to watch.

The Cardinals are nearly always somewhere in the mix. Was it 2011 when they won the WS after finishing 83-79? The team has a tradition of winning, character, and often comes up with a super effort in the clutch.
They had 83 wins in 2006. It’s another reason why Mets fans were shocked when they beat them in the NLCS. That was some Game 7 that year.

Why do they keep calling it a 'ground rule double' when it's a 'book rule double'? Ground rules are things that are peculiar to that specific ball park, like a ball getting caught in the ivy at Wrigley, or behind a rolled up tarp, etc. A book rule is for something that is the same for every park, like a ball bouncing over the fence being a double.

As someone who would rate baseball as one of my least favorite sports, I started working at Busch stadium this year and can say that the Cardinals have slowly whittled me down and I am enjoying baseball much more then I thought I could. Sad that so many fans left before the comeback but the fans who stayed until the end got a show!
