The XT variants is a waste of sand (quote from GamerNexus, back when the XT get release for the 3000 series). IF anybody want to argue about the overclocking capability, yes it's binned from a higher tier but they already OC it from the factory and AM4 are not know for the OC capability anyways

Even the most stalwart of fanboys should be able to see that. • @Knaeckebrotsaege
      @Knaeckebrotsaege Месяц назад +3

      Honestly if you're not already on AM4, you shouldn't be looking into AM4 anyway, since there's very little point in building a brand new system on a semi-dead socket. Used parts if you're on a tight budget? Sure, grab a 3600 or 5600 and a B450/B550 board and you're golden for quite some time without breaking the bank. Brand new build? Forget about it and look into a 7600 on AM5 instead (or a 7500F if it's available wherever you are and noticeably cheaper. All you lose is 100MHz and the integrated GPU)

    • @razorblade7108

      AM4 users can be happy about the 5700X3D though, which brings you very good gaming performance even compared to most newer CPUs for just $180-200, which is much cheaper than the 5800X3D, which is not much faster, especially not when using AMDs overclocking tools to further maximize efficiency and clockspeeds. If you are looking into getting a new system AM5 will be a better choice though. The 7800X3D is very sexy. A 9800X3D will likely be even better, but probably much more expensive as well. Or the 7800X3D will drop in price.

It will also be ok for amateur and home creators who need a boost without the cost of a high priced AM5 board and the required new memory in addition to a higher priced CPU. A lot to fork out for some.

      @@drewnewby mine won’t, cause I’m not stupid. Do you even know what the issue is? The main issue is that motherboards push ridiculous amount of voltages to these CPUs. A 14900ks out of the box gets pushed to 1.48v and 1.4v all core. It’s ridiculous. If you have any of these high end CPUs, just undervolt it. Most 14900k’s should easily do 5.7ghz between 1.22-1.28v, as my 13600k can do it in 1.29. 14900ks, upon research can do 5.9 between 1.26-1.32v. 1.33v should be the hard limit if you don’t want to experience any degradation. I do however feel that this problem should have never happened, cause not everyone should be expected to tinker with their cpu. Also the oxidation issue happened to roughly 2-15% of CPUs around end of 2023, so those ppl should get a rma, which Intel has been initiating themselves.

    Pretty sure 5800x,5900x both came with the prism cooler. But both my 5800x were bought used locally and my 5900x was open box so I could easily be wrong. My 2700x that started my AM4 journey came with the prism. Just recently sold it and bought a Thermalright Silver Soul 110 and was amazed how much better the little Thermalright is. Sold the prism for $15 and bought the 110 for $30. Installed two 92mm fans in push/pull and a 80mm on the front in push config. The prism did sure look nice but the high pressure clasp used to attach it had me worried I could damage a part someday and decided to go with a Noctua like mounting setup on the Thermalright 110. It's darn near a clone of the Noctua D9L that I own as well cooling a 7600x w/ three Noctua brown fans on it.

    It makes perfect sense from their perspective, as the 5000 series was a very good series of CPUs and sold very well, so they had too much stock premade and also the 7000 series initially didn't sell all that well mostly due to motherboards costing too much and instead of letting so many chips they had go to waste they found the best chips, called it an XT (with all the procedures that comes with) and let it go out in the wild to maximize profits since it's likely a smaller loss for them to do this than to just throw them away.
    I am just explaining their perspective on why they did this so don't shoot the messenger.

We NEED media outlets to hold all companies to the fire when they are dishonest and misleading (as with the 5800XT and 5900XT performance claims), when they're being stupid with prices (as with these CPUs and many GPUs on the market), and when they're screwing over customers (see Intel's recent debacle).

    in commenting on the price, you leave out the fact that the cooler included costs $55 USD today. Is that worth it? Not for you, with a test stock of Noctua, and AIOs.
    For someone on a first or second gen board with --- say a R3 or R5 Zen Plus --- there is a significant upgrade to Zen 3, but other parts are cheaper (but come with the cheaper Stealth),. I wouldn't have charged so much for their own cooler (doesn't Coolermaster or someone OEM that?) since it doesn't seem to be AM5 compatible; but will be upgrading to a 5700x3d soon and bought an ID Cooling SE - 207 - XT Slim for around $35 (slim apparently means one center fan on dual tower? ). I built the system a year ago on a B550/ R5 5600X; so far, no issues, but I haven't a serious need to upgrade; I don't have the tech Must Upgrade Now virus that badly yet.
    A better deal would be the R5 5900 65W part for about the same cost and probably less power. ($264 USD on Amazon today, new.)
