The whole point of Bow Down was that the record labels had been controlling their sound which they wanted to move away from
This, they literally say the whole album is them writing the music they want, for them
Absolutely my favorite song...ever. Not just from this EP but from I Prevail in general...And maybe even from the whole Genre
The chorus reminds me of Avalanche by BMTH

The flow pattern and the way it ramped up and down kinda gave me a Disease feel from Beartooth

Loved what you said about this one. Sounds like the only track similar to Lifelines.
This is my favorite song off the album. This song, did, in fact, hit me like a hurricane. I watched the video of it first, and I think the video is a really special piece of work that chronicles the challenges this young group of guys has been through and managed to crawl through the other side of.
i think A day to remember did the best of evolving, they always gave you a few heavy bangers even if they started going softer. I can say that i like every single ADTR song, now i dont love them all, but i dont dislike any of them (naivety being the weakest). Homesick and What seperates you from me will ALWAYS be super important to me. It was great and represented a great time in my life. Plus Adtr is the band i learned to scream to 10 years ago :D
One thing that really drew me to this album is the lyrical work and dealing with the feelings of mental health issues like depression.

Well 1) I love this album, and 2) I feel like this album had more of a vocal focused impact rather than instrumental impact. I prevails past albums I’ve loved cause they fucking HIT! But this one hit me more mentally and in the feels rather than the metalhead in me. So I guess for me personally this shit still hits.
Perhaps my second or third fav of the album. Very good song.

@@WyattStavUnderstand that for sure. I am glad that you saw the video because to me it explains a bit of why the sound is different. Same with the video for Bow Down. I feel like the sound of Lifelines wasn't really what they wanted to do, but more of what the label wanted them to do.
This type evolution is fast. It's the kind that usually is frowned upon but more than likely good. And that's what happened, they evolved quickly and sadly not many people like quick change, but it's what they need or wanted in order to show who they are as a band not what they decide to drift off to. Whether it's this or the most heaviest thing they can make, they still are I Prevail, and the name of the band says it alone. They prevailed into new territory to show what they can become and what they are, a true to themselves kind of band and record smashing musicians.

I know you watched this without the video, idk if it was out yet, but all the stuff you're saying about how they sound like a new band get clarified well in the video. A lot happened to them personally and proffesionally between the two albums and though I totaly get your point I think the background info gives this specific band and record an exception on it.
These guys are so high but thats cool. Such a misconstrued stigma around blow. But these guys are loving it! Good for them!

I think he is singing about the Hurricane of getting popular so quickly. This song has a lot of emotion to it as well which definitely gets it in top 3 of the album.
Great mix of genres here. Soft when it needs to be and backed up by a pretty mean breakdown. Great flavors in the this track.
I would love if you did a cover and breakdown of this song! The video that explains all they're troubles is so damn hard hitting and I wish they would have done that version however understand why they may not have because the story can distract from judging the song for what it is.

Anyone recognize the "harmony" type effects during the chorus: "And I don't know why I drown my mind", how was the effect done? Vocoder or something similar?
Not a vocoder. Vocals were just doubled on it, and it has a vocal sample in the background to add an ambiance effect.
