is there a way to set everything in google docs to default settings? mine is really messed up, the cursor stays in the same place and the text has a tabbed spaces Infront of it.
This doesn't work for me (hence why I went looking for a solution), I follow the exact same steps and it says it has saved the new default styles but then it doesn't apply it when I open a new document, in fact, it doesn't seem to do anything.
Dont know if its too late for y'all for this to be useful, but i just found out that you have to select each text (for ex "Heading 2" or whatever), then click into the same menu he's been using in the video and instead of "Apply Heading 2" you click "Update Heading 2 to match", rinse and repeat for the other styles and then at the end click save as default. Hope that helps:)

Same. saving and applying does absolutely nothing and it's enraging.
I know this doesn't help you, House, but I just tried it and it worked as advertised. Thank you LAT IT Trainer.

Awesome but how do you set default styles for everyone else to use?
You can't. You can only share templates across your organisation

Here you go, if you want the default template: docs.google.com/document/d/1XnmeshBSbEUHI2Th_Jo_xaWIAUNnTiDA9SDv_YtxQyU/edit?usp=sharing
Sure, this may be an updated version. docs.google.com/document/d/1n1UTOpcK2epQW8S3wIJSRx45z7U-dsx1C6NlsPCHhUc/edit?usp=sharing
Are you a copywriter?
