G Herbo sat down with DJ Vlad to speak about his growth as a rapper including changing his name from Lil Herb. The rapper spoke about staying true to himself and his fans and how that helped with the direction of his debut album Humble Beast. He disclosed staying sober, how he worked with Lil Uzi Vert and potentially releasing a collaborative project with the Philly star.
The conversation then delved into the violence in Chicago, with Herbo sharing a story about how he was almost shot in the head while he was trapping in his old neighborhood. Speaking on the white supremacist protests, Herbo revealed that racists don't ever go to Black communities and likely never will; discussing how he didn't grow up around a lot of white people. He then revealed how before rapping his life goal was to be a drug dealer.

But my son told me to listen to him and I did. He is really good. I decided to watch this interview bc I like to know how I’m listening too. I like G Herbo. I never really heard much of his music, but just by watching a couple of interviews on this channel, and observing the way he talks and carries himself, Herbo seems to be very genuine and mature!

Before I seen this, I never listened to herbos music. I'm from chicago and heard of him since he came out, but I'm more into old school and underground rap, maybe because I'm in my thirties. I've always listen to rappers from my city, but it was mostly the old heads. Lep bogus boys, twista, bump j, do or die, ect, but after hearin bro talk, and seein how he carry his self I had to check him out. I know i'm late and been snoozin on him but I gotta admit he's dope. I don't like all his songs, but he can rap, and he on some street shit. I'm startin to learn not to knock somethin until I try it.
