I love when he said it feels like you're on the offensive. Its true. Devil Daggers felt like you're scared and are just trying to survive. Hyper Demon feels like you've escaped and have come back to take revenge on everything that wronged you in the first game.

Very surprised to see this on a QL. These games have such an insanely high skill ceiling that watching good players who have cracked the code is mesmerizing. Those who think this looks awesome but intimating should try out Devil Daggers, their other game. It's a little easier to get into.
this looks phenomenal. wish more big devs were willing to get visually experimental. can you imagine something like this with a bigger budget?!
Majority of publishers can't and won't, sadly.
Cloning what's popular and changing a few minor things works way too well.
Most won't even bother with smaller projects that don't sell 5+ million copies.
I feel like games like this are only good because there is a small team working to the bone on exactly what they want instead of a warehouse of people vaguely establishing what they want and iterating on it later. Money and sheer workforce are great for the games that require a bigger budget, but this is exactly the way it should be imo.

Put nearly 200 hours into devil daggers and already find this more additive, got 53 seconds score as my best
mine is 65 but im complete trash at dd
@@hersical haven't played it for a bit, I got to the end boss a few times but never killed it in the end, think around 220 seconds or somewhere around there and then gave up
