I will never forget the great feeling I received when my 99-dollar drone started to fly, I kept rewinding your video to get every wire in the right place. My wife thought it was foolish but I could not wait to fly that drone I built one for her also I hung it on the wall in her office, I lost her from an allergic reaction she had to restart her heart, I was married 44 years I miss her very much and sometimes she visits me in my dreams, Give your wife and kids a big hug let them know how much you appreciate them they grow up fast and life is short, She has been gone 3 years now and I haven't built a drone since but I have built many when she was with me, I am just starting to fly again sometimes. I understand everyone has a difficult time But I really think that this hobby will keep me going thanks for your helpful videos, Happy flying ✈

Dude, For a long time, I dealt with anxiety, overthinking, and depression, just pushing through because that's what I thought I was supposed to do. Then, about 2 years ago, I got diagnosed with ADHD - and suddenly, everything clicked!
I wish you made this video five years ago when I first got into FPV.
This hobby has been amazing - it taps into my gamer side, my love of tinkering and making things, and my tech background. It's like everything I enjoy rolled into one! Keep up the positive vibes! I'm here for it, quite literally, I very recently moved to South Australia from Cape Town, South Africa.

I suffered with undiagnosed ADHD until my mid-late 20's. What you're describing is reffered to as fleeting hobbies. It is extremely common in people with ADHD. We find something that sparks intrest, fixate for days and nights sometimes loosing sleep over it. Then invest a thousand dollars into the best gear to give yourself the best shot at enjoying it and sticking with it. Then more common than not, its dropped in under a year.
For what its worth, im brand new to FPV and hoping it doesnt "flee" your videos helped me weigh my options for begginer radios to future proof (RM boxer) and most recently an incredible looking $200USD pair of HD goggles. So thank you.

Loving the headphones dude....Your channel has been one of the constants. One of the true channels that people come to for no BS from Trev, from you and anyone else that flies/tests any of the quads you have all tested over the years. People respect your point of view, your presentations and vids. Over the years, I have seen pilots struggle when they get to a certain level. Once that level is reached, they want, expect, do anything to get a sponsorship deal no matter how it effects them. They fly waaaay too much to show themselves, to get out there, to get noticed. Sometimes it just doesn't happen. Sometimes they regret what they pushed so hard to achieve and it changes them. I have seen some that have changed so much, that other pilots no longer want to be round them. A few years ago, Caddx reached out and offered me a sponsorship which I politely refused. People said I was mad, I was stupid. The reality was that they wanted too much from me, the pressure to create content, to fly more than I do anyway, to post on every social platform known to man. This was to be looked at every 3 months on a rolling contract kind of agreement. I have a full time job and FPV has always been a hobby, a way of clearing my head, of getting out and flying cool locations and to just enjoy the experience FPV provides. It's hard to stay current. It's hard to keep the footage fresh and for what ? For likes, for acknowledgement ? For WOW look at that ? For sponsorship ? The pressure does take it's toll and you haven't got your channel to where it is now without sacrifice and sweat. Keep doing what you are doing buddy and when it gets too tough, step back, reset and go again. Takes guts to make a vid like this and put your thoughts / feelings on the line. Much respect and keep it fresh for the new pilots out there.

First of a Massive thank you for your time and effort with all your videos....
I first built the $99 unit back in 2018, then took a few year break as couldn't focus on 1 thing. It topped out approx 2 years ago that I felt like a terrible person and opened up to my wife and some friends. I found a local group in Western Sydney approx 18 months ago with help to build my drone and now have many different types and fly for the enjoyment without any pressures to do crazy stuff all the time, I do still find my self having down days and want to hide away from the world. I watched your video where you opened up with your experiences and related to that and now I watch every video whether its something I really want to know or not as we all started this as a fun hobby and need to keep it that way

Thank you for doing this video and opening up about this. Flying has always been something I've always turned to for relief when ive struggled in the past. though most of my experience has been through games, the further exploration into drone piloting including getting my license for work has really opened my world. Ive wanted to explore fpv for a few years now but it gets costly real quick, so most of my time ive been exploring and consuming all the information I can on the subject and am really appreciative of the community ive kind of silently been entering. of course there are many channels out there, each with their own flavor and I love them all and one thing that is always brought up is mental health and I just want to say that I agree 100% and its seriously one of the most important parts of this hobby. I am so glad so many of you have rallied around and been so supportive of those who are coming up in this and for those who have been looking into it and clearly for those who struggle at times and that alone, which is amazing. thank you!

Everyone struggles sometimes and obviously some more than others, but I hope your sharing helps someone else understand they are not alone. I don't know how many comments you actually get to read and respond to, but it feels kinda insane that you just made this video and i saw it when I did. I've been flying for a year and a half and i've liked your videos from the start. I'm 33 and was just officially diagnosed with ADHD 3 days ago, and its pretty severe. While deep down, I think i always knew it, its still hard trying to reconcile it. I've learned a TON about ADHD recently and the effects of undiagnosed ADHD and i deeply empathize with you. I always thought i was this broken loser that just couldn't do the basic things that others seem to do so easily. I mean, I still feel that way, but at least now i have an explanation. Sure, i learned to build some awesome drones, but my house is such a mess i'm too embarrassed to even show them to anyone. I appreciate you making this video and being vulnerable. You've always been a genuine dude that has a fan for life here. Cheers from USA!

Lol no fookin way, I also got my ADHD diagnosed mid-pandemic, with previous anxiety/depression which were ofc secondary to the ADHD. The diagnosis is mostly bc of university and their MH teams helping me spot it, got proper diagnosis) and HOLY MOLY bro... changes your life knowing you're neurodivergent in this way! So many men have undiagnosed ADHD - especiually those of us with it only mildly/moderately as the severe ADHD completely dominates the narrative. My Psych (director of care at my countrys health service, lucky me!) literally told me to keep my eyes peeled for men with undiagnosed ADHD who may be exhibiting the stuff like impulsivity and anxiety/depression that often come secondary to it.
But yeah, glad you're well and open to talk about it so publicly man. I think I'd emotionally melt if I tried to make a video like this. Might be because I don't believe in myself enough yet ;)

Dont' worry much about the Impostor Syndrome. Every IT guy suffers from it and we'r still alive and working.
BTW you are the first fpv channel I ever watched. I joined the hobby because of one of your early racing videos. It was instant love.

@@UAVfutures First time I saw that I thought it looked faster than MotoGP and the dives over the eucaliptus trees felt breathtaking. I don't know if you were actually racing or filming the race. I think you were reviewing a Catalyst frame. Some of the most memorable videos I remember involved some BnF reviews (QStmSD2ZDEw),
      a Flywing day (gKHuOUuaBCU),
you and Granger making top-of-the-line custom builds and testing them (zV-XpFZCaT8), also Granger giving racing tips (SAow7s9FPnM). In general I liked to watch the racing field and the whole gang hanging out and reviewing products in a casual manner. Everybody said something different.

If you love doing it then you belong. Do it for you first and foremost and just be you.
Ill say this...its just a channel FOR YOU. It does not have it's own identity and you are not responsible to maintain stats. Doing that will force you to be face, overenthusiastic, claim every quad is amazing when its not, etc. Being you will get the clicks that matter if you are being true to yourself

Remember the case of Nickelback vs the Pickle? Some hater for the band Nickelback made an account with just a pickle and got the people of Facebook to give it more upvotes than the band. The pickle got it's votes by doing nothing it is an imposter. The band has a fanbase and makes good money. Those fans vote with their money and the band has carved out a niche for itself in the entire world population.
You have people voting with their money and hundreds of thousands of upvotes (fans). Yes, you would lose to a pickle, mostly because people think its funny and there are billions of people on the planet. That does not negate the niche you have varved out for yourself.
Last point, you are not a Mr. Steel or a Bardwell. You bring a unique energy. You invite guests from Grumpy Trev (I miss him) to your children. You bring humor. Your natural style naturally pulls people back from the brink and into your niche. Your journey is helping if not outright saving people. Don't give up. You are needed. You are not an imposter.
