The brilliant Richard Fidler and his "Conversations" interviews.
This whole legendary story could make a wonderful movie.

A wonderful, informative, funny, sad documentary. I'm writing a book about the TV series "Boney", which was produced by Lee Robinson, the man who went to find Lasseter's body for a TV programme (and ended up arrested for having dug it up!). Robinson's friend Nosepeg guided him to the burial site and claimed that he and his father had found Lasseter either dead or dying, long before.

My 81 year old mother just gave me a actual copy of lasseters diary yesterday, its a bit hard to read the writing and some of it seems to be in his version of shorthand

I covered a lot of that country in the early eighties by Helicopter and the old reliable FJ60's. The word then was that Australias' Richest Gold Mine, Telfer is the lost Reef but Black Fellas said ".................". but that is still way west of The Alice and out of range for when and how they went. But there is still much to be found.

So why did Lassiter son erect a memorial to his late father at Winters Glen for Surely he would know if his father was dead or alive & if alive the how wealthy did lasseters son become Maybe someone should research the Sons history Just a thought.🇦🇺

I've listened to as many Lasseter stories as exist I think, and to me you seem to draw some very unsubstantiated conclusions and differ in the story line. I was of the belief that Lasseter was at odds with Blakley from the start as he wanted to follow his original path not head off in some direction way to the north. I also believe Lasseter expressed that belief in his diary "how can they expect me to find something and recognise it when approaching from a different direction." Anyway I think you have a significant bias against this mystery. There is plenty of gold out that way as only recently a large gold reef was pegged along the Tanami.
