You do realize that overall, the Tundra has been the longest lasting, most reliable, lowest cost of ownership truck for the past 15 years? The only reason Chevy's commercials say longest lasting trucks is because if you read the fine print, the data is from 1987 to present. The Tundra didnt hit the market until 2001 and if you take the date from the Tundra's conception, Tundra wins all 3 of those categories. Dont get me wrong, Chevy makes a darn good truck, but where I live in Colorado, if you own a chevy with their thin rolled steel panels, hail storms will destroy them along with the Fords and Rams.
I've had them both. The chevy/gmc was in my opinion a much better truck, it felt more powerful and maneuverable. It was much more comfortable and it had a 6.5' bed compared to tundra 5'

I can’t believe people actually think these stupid tests mean something. It’s all just difference in weight and traction. To call a truck better or worse than the other based on this is ridiculous.
All these videos do is prove the importance of good tires... Although when you pay for good tires you usually don't burn them up! More power does nothing to help tires that are spinning. I'm looking for some videos of a couple dummies with 4x4's with the "balls" to blow some st*t up.
This is why I own the 06 DC 4X4, even at a 4.7 it gets it.... plus, after the recent article of it's ON-PURPOSE engineering power train (SHIT ENGINE DESIGN) flaw, I know I made the right decision. Yota's are less maintenance, low cost of repairs and the engines are massively reliable. Though I'll restore an ole' 58 1/2ton anyday of the week. 🤙😎
I don't want to ruin anything but I mean it's all about the tires and the driver I would have to be there to see if it was a fair match but maybe the Chevy took them maybe the Chevy didn't for real.
Lol. That seems kind of dumb. The Tundra is made in Texas, by employees residing in Texas. I can only assume those guys are taking the Asian-made stereos and electronics out of their vehicles, and trashing their Asian-made computers and similar.
GMC All day! They had to put The Tundra in 4WD so it would even have a chance, When GMC was built strictly in USA, you couldn't beat those trucks from 2008 on down, I've seen Fords F150s 250s get outclassed always, Tundra is decent but not on GMC Chevy level
He even had the advantage of being hooked higher and still screwed the pooch. lol Not taking anything away from a Tundra however, they are great trucks.
I would be willing to bet that the Tundra switched to low range and turned off the traction control for the last three pulls because the traction control in high range is too busy switching from wheel to wheel trying to find the one wheel that isn’t spinning and is totally USELESS in this type of contest but it’s great to have if you hit black ice while starting to take an exit early in the morning you had no idea it was there.
One fact for sure. I dont buy a truck to race it but to the titan and toyota boys, what your truck does is bout all it will ever do. For a few hundred or a little more you can build a chevy motor that you will never dream of touching. So drive your plastic toy trucks all you want.
Michael Teeple as a Chevy owner well was because just recently the transmission went out at 271k miles hoping to swap it for an f150 but I have respect for Nissan and Toyota I see plenty at construction a roofer I know works with a Frontier has a V6 with a 5speed manual so less worries about it going out and it's been worked hard also see a lot of the older tundra before they redesigned them
All truck frames are made of high grade steel, and all manufacturers use plastic in the interiors of vehicles, to make the vehicle cheaper as well as lighter, so unless you're comparing a pickup from 1950s to 1970s to any modern day pickup, your "plastic" argument is crap.
sammy duran yea It does Toyota doesn’t make a v6 if I’m wrong what do they compete with then yea that’s how it is just like no one compares the base v6 in the f150 to a 5.3 or 6.2 in a Chevy your just mad cause both engines are better
Scott Morey no your wrong a v6 doesn’t compare to a v8 Toyota doesn’t have a v6 they have two v8s a 4.7 and a 5.7 Chevy has a 4.3 v6 which doesn’t compare with anything from Toyota and then they have two v8s just like Toyota a 5.3 and a 6.2 so explain again how that works
So first of all you don't even know who has what for motors except gm. 2nd lets throw down some knowledge. Toyota has a 4.6 not a 4.7. it produces 310 hp compared to gm's 4.3 which produces 285hp. next i'll bring you to weight to power ratio's. The Gm weights in just under 600lbs lighter than the Toyota. v6 to a v8 comparison is ancient history. it comes down to the power to weight ratio in this modern land. so for every hp on the 4.3 it has to move 16.477 lbs. that lower than Toyota's 4.6 at 16.935 lbs per HP. The 5.7's power to weight ratio come's in between the 5.3 and 6.2 but slightly closer to the 5.3. So, technically the 4.3 v6 has more juice than the 4.6 v8. The 5.3 vs the 4.6 is no comparison. I've extensively been studying both these brands as I will be in the market in a couple of years. Mopar isn't reliable enough for me and the ford only allows a plow on the v8 model. The 5.3 also has higher payload and towing than the 5.7. research my friend. I don't hate either brand. I'm actually torn between them. the Newer chevy's ever since that girl took over have gone down hill If they would of kept that classic 5.7 350 man Chevy would be owning the truck market!!
My 2 favorite brands. These are real pickups! 🙂👍
The Toyota Tundra says you wanna see my power 😏
Tundra wasn't in 4x4 the first time, the tundra weighs more, tundra has more torque. That's the facts, not the brand.
01silver auto you realize those tundras are made in the USA right?
