I am glad, Dean, that you no longer rate the neighborhoods. This project has morphed into something that needed ratings into something entirely more cinematic and expansive in scope/concept. It is a thrill to check out every new thing you do, and while I know this concept is going to get old, I hope that takes a long time.... Well done, sir....well done, indeed!
As a patreon of yours, I only ask that the vids become a tad longer... I want to know more about each area...more footage, more people...more community. But you continue to do "you" Dean....

Great segment with Diane Samuels and the Houses of City of Asylum (8:14). I had no idea there is that thoughtful sanctuary. Love her new found perception on life. I have always welcomed the expansion of perception but it can be overwhelming so you have to pick and choose like picking a neighborhood to explore.

This is the most randomly, extremely well-produced video I've ever come across on RUclips. I'm just fucking around searching up random US cities and I do "Pittsburgh" and here's this gem of a video. I mean, oh my goodness this is some quality content. Fuck this is good. I'm studying for school right now but goddamn I just found a channel to binge watch. You got a new subscriber here

Another wonderful view of our city. The War Streets are a favorite of mine. I love your unique view through the camera on how to see and feel where you are. I like old houses too for their soul (Rod McQuen wrote a poem about that) and that is what your videos have as well, and bring out in the neighborhoods you explore, as well as the people you may talk to. You are one very talented young man.
One other note...the music in this video and others... beautiful.

What a well done video. The Randyland part is fascinating and the guy that sells beer, it almost makes you feel like you went back in time 50 years looking at that place.
The Squirrel and the Bird thing was freaking hilarious.. In the beginning, I thought you were talking to some older woman, and kept thinking, why doesn't she want to be on camera. Lmao.

Hey, wanted to mention- there's another youtube video where the guy drove through Pittsburgh & titled it "worst parts of Pittsburgh". I commented that a person can drive through any city in the usa & see the same stuff, and didn't help driving through during middle of winter.
I also included if people want to see what Pittsburgh really looked like to look you up. I had several comments from my post, and several people mentioned you & how they really love your work. Just thought you should know. Keep it up.

Excellent series. Have you done McKeesport yet ? When I took my middle back east, and we went down to explore McKeesport ( where I lived from 67-1986) , it was heart breaking to see the decay and despair of parts of the city. He put together a video for a Rode Reel entry on RUclips search for :

I grew up in Buffalo, NY and moved to Pgh. when I was 19 years old. Walking up those city steps nearly killed me especially because I was carrying my then three year old son, wrapped in a heavy blanket. I lived at 2703 Oakley Way on the Slopes. I watched them blow up the Birmingham Bridge from there. It was so cool!

@@RachelRenee3636 Very nice, you are a serious listener to be at that level. I had about 800 LP's at one time. I still have about 500 but many of those original ones have been replaced with my current taste. I still love my old rock. I would never get rid of Lead Zeppelin's stairway to heaven, or my pink Floyd albums. My favorite thing to do back in the day was to canvass the "Cut outs' (discounted, out of print, etc) albums at NRM or Oasis , Steadfords on East Ohio Street, and so forth. Most albums were .79 cents to a dollar, and I found some real gems. One of my favorites that I still have (without a single scratch) is Buddy Miles LIVE on the Mercury label.
