I just want to let you know, AGAIN... That what you are doing for our city, thru your talent is so inspirational! I now bring a garbage bag with us when we take our kids out to local parks. You have started something AMAZING and I want to be part of that. I feel like you are uniting Pittsburgh, town by town and I couldnt be more proud to be a PITTSBURGHER... You're on your way to fulfilling your dreams, Dean. I have no doubt that in the near future, you will have exploded as not only a youtuber, but as a Documentarian, or anything that involves you and video/photography. Happy New Year friend!

Born and raised in Pittsburgh. I’ve been living in Japan now for almost 6 years. I moved out here intentionally but because of certain aspects of my new life I’m not sure when or if I’ll ever be able to return home. These videos and your upbeat attitude specifically soothe my soul and provide solace when I’m feeling homesick. Thank you, Dean.

Just discovered your channel, & have been happily binge watching for the last several hours. I've had a love affair with Pittsburgh almost all my life (I'm 55!), but I've never been fortunate enough to live there for any length of time. I'm from a small town about 130 miles northeast of there, & I visited alot as a kid. My late husband & I did live there temporarily for about a year in the early 2000's,, when my husband was being treated for leukemia at West Penn hospital. It was a difficult year, but also a great one, due to being in Pittsburgh. My husband was in the hospital most of that year, but once he was stable, he insisted that I get out & see as much of the city as I could. I didn't want to leave him at the hospital, but afterward, I was really so glad he made me go. My only regret is that once he was well, we packed up & went back home. I've been trying to get back to Pittsburgh ever since! Now, going for occasional visits is more pain than pleasure for me. Health, kids, & financial issues got in the way of us making a permanent move there, but he passed away several months ago, so now my Pittsburgh dream is back in full force. Trying to apartment hunt long distance is tough though, & the neighborhoods that were affordable back in 2005/2006 are much more expensive now. Plus, some of those places have lost the vibe I liked due to over-gentrification. I hope to make it work out soon though, as I have to travel to see my doctor at the Hillman Cancer Center pretty often. Thank you for making these great videos of The 'Burgh!!

I'd love you to do a video on the Brookline neighborhood. I grew up there, in a house at the end of Chrysler St, right near what is now the entrance to Our Lady of Loreto school and church. (That was not there for my first 7 years - it was just woods.) I played in those woods all the time, and walked through them to Moore field. My family moved away in 1964 when I was 10 years old. I'd love to see what the neighborhood looks like now.

First off, your production style is amazing. The beginning shots that set the mood, the music, your iconic helmet and fun gags like the snowman talking, your face being mirrored, etc. These documentary style videos with real people hit such a deep part of the soul and make you feel this connection you never would without being there yourself.
Second, you give me a very Jake from VSauce vibe (both in voice and humour) but most importantly in the information you provide. Describing little things like the metal supports on houses, the many shots that flow together and feel like a catalogue of this beautiful city you live in. Definitely a channel I'll be recommending and following well into the future, take care!

Loved the view of the city out my front window at 122 Baily Ave. I have come back to visit Pittsburgh many times over the years. I fell in love with Pittsburgh and Mt. Washington and the people. I’ve really been enjoying your videos. You approach each neighborhood with such respect and openness. As a life long Pittsburgher it’s a bit jarring but amazing to see the city from the eyes of a person not born here. It makes me see a place that is so familiar in a different way. Pittsburgh has changed so much in my lifetime I can imagine that it’d be unrecognizable. I’ve always felt that our geography of the city molded its residents’ personalities in a quite literal way. Both are hard to get familiar with, but familial and welcoming once you get to know us. It’s got a history of hardworking, tough people. I’m so glad you can see the beauty here.

Thank you for making these videos. They are really entertaining, and the quality is fantastic! I have visited Pittsburgh frequently throughout my life, and never really liked it. These videos really have given me a new appreciation for the city.

I really enjoy watching your videos, know this is really late but it was just suggested to me. Hope your ankle heals ive been there in time you just learn to deal with it (& the limp) please, keep up the good work. I've lived in the Pittsburgh area my whole life but downtown kinda scares me, thanks for taking me to places i would probably never go. 👏

Hey I'm not sure how to contact you other than this. So hear goes! I would love for you to do a story on McKeesport. My grandfather and great grandfather were both on the cover of "U.S. Steel" magazine back in the day when McKeesport was booming with the steel industry. My Nana has lived on Jenny Lynn St. for over eighty years, only moving a few houses up the hill when her father built a house up the street as a wedding present to her and my grandpap. She was the bookkeeper/secretary for u.s. steal, leaving school to work. My grandparents both grew up in that neighborhood, went to school together, worked together, and stayed together through his deployment in WWII as a Navy Seal. They got married when he returned and raised three kids on that street in that neighborhood. My grandpa isn't around anymore, but my Nana is still alive and would love to be interviewed about the town's history. She lived there for her whole life until recently having to move closer to us in the South Hills for home care, and has plenty to say about it's history. My whole family is from there and recalls when it was a great place to live. I also went to George Washington school in McKeesport for Grade School, but thankfully moved before it started getting too bad I guess. But I loved it there and still miss the candy shop and great sled riding down the streets!
I'll take the risk putting my email here in hopes to hear back from you. I think it's worth the risk. Thanks man. Liked your video, I've already been subscribed.
