so many games with jokes or mechanics based on changing gameplay styles have a serious habit of running each one into the ground, because they want to get the most out everything (see: the motorcycle segments in final fantasy 7 remake or bayonetta), so I can seriously respect this game for not letting the bits overstay their welcomes, but giving you bonus challenges if you really want to see more of a certain gimmick
this game is smart because it doesn't linger too long on a joke. That's the trick, if you're not sure if the thing you're doing is funny throw something else out randomly before your audience has too long to think about it. At the very least you don't wear out your welcome
Something ironically funny about telling Vinny and people who enjoy/tolerate him that not lingering on a joke too long is the key to good humor. (You aren't wrong, still funny)
50 Foot Robot Golf is also really funny- it’s golf, but it’s post-apocalyptic and you play in giant robot suits, and there’s tons of 90’s mecha anime homages/jokes.
It upsets me greatly how long it took Vinny to recognize that the one section was Super Meat Boy inspired. LOVED that perfect Hello World recreation though holy crap
Herozen I’ve been recommending it to everyone, it’s hysterical. TL;DR: The original was a mockumentary film (think The Office or Spinal Tap) about a group of vampires in New Zealand. It had Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement in it. The TV show is the same idea set in Staten Island with different vampires. A lot of the jokes are about the vampires being out of touch with modern life and technology.
I've beaten Persona 5 and it's definitely not a game Vinny would enjoy. It's too time consuming and sometimes even outright boring to watch if you are not the one playing

mother 3 wont be localized simply because everyone that wants it has already played it, and nintendo isnt exactly known for dumping money into weird places like localizing a game that isnt brand new and hugely marketable

Disco Elysium is absolutely fantastic and has kinda ruined the rest of RPGs for me. That said, Vinny wouldn't like it. He's said before that he prefers gameplay over plot in games, and one of the reasons he ended dropping The Outer Worlds was because there was too much dialog. Disco Elysium is NOTHING but dialog and reading the whole time. So nope.

It's still very surprising to me that Vinny has interest in Xenoblade, I'm certainly glad for it and while I think it's one of those games he won't play entirely on stream - or may not even finish for that matter - I hope he likes it. That game came a strange time in my life and really left a strong impression on me, I love it dearly to this day. Can't wait for that deluxe edition to land in my mailbox.
Idk if it's more common than I thought, but I'm glad vinny mentioned the whole ''gotta live with it a little bit'' abt songs. I am so bad about listening to new music, because half the time, (sometimes more than half), songs don't get to me right away. It won't sound bad, sometimes I can tell it's great, but I'm just not able to jam to it immediately. It's actually really nice to know I'm not the only one that needs to give songs multiple listens before I can tell if I like it. Though I also imagine it's the familiarity, that makes me like songs after a while.

I think the point he was making was how some people just take at face value what some guy on the internet says, and how most of those complaints were coming from either extremist fans or people who never even watched the show. Or that's how I saw it. And I feel he made it longer so he could in a sense, counter any arguments said people might have been preparing while watching it.

A 2D Metroid game that takes place after Fusion in the style of Samus Returns would be great? With hindsight, that kinda was an understatement, wasn't it? As a reverb G2 user, the extra screen resolution does so much with aiming some simpler guns in H3 like the original 1911 and it's tinny not even differently collored miniature sights.
