      @@saadsami8860 literally no. if theres one newgen mangaka so prolific that his oneshots are award winning, one already turned into a movie that is in consideration right now for an Oscar for best animated feature, has 3 ex-assistants working under him that after working w him went on to make hits of their own in Shounen Jump (SpyxFam author, Hell's Paradise author, Dandadan author) and have expressly stated about the influence of fujimoto's writing in their works... the one mangaka that MAPPA have stated to wanting to animate EVERY fujimoto work in-house and fully self-produced bc theyre that big a fan of fujimoto's works.
      He already belongs in the goat conversation especially if hes already making waves of influence in his contemporaries

    Hajime Isayama Sensei: he just released one and only manga in his life with 34 vol. and become top 7 most selling manga with 130+ million sold copies, truly deserved candidate.
    Hirohiko Araki Sensei : do i really need to give any reasons like come on:
    ~only mangaka whose art is kept in the same museum as the Monalisa
    ~Most unique artstyle like, u can identify it out of million other anime from
    ~one of his works is #2 on MAL after berserk
    ~drawing and releasing manga since 1987, its been 37 years and he is still actively making more manga.

      Yes definitely, I would say his influence is either third or fourth behind Akira Toriyama, Osamu Tezuka, and then the debatable one is Eiichiro Oda, who I would say is about the same when factoring both anime and manga,

      @nivnavion oda doesn’t have as much influence as kishimoto, not even close. If it wasn’t for naruto and dragon ball, 90% of the anime community wouldn’t even exist. One piece wasn’t even popular 5 years ago outside japan.

    Where is Shotaro Ishinomori? He is one the most important magakas of all time, and a former assistant of Osamu Tezuka. His works are also some of the best in their genre. He also helped shape the modern tokusatsu genre with his works like Kamen Rider, Super Sentai( the work that inspired Power Rangers, later in the 90s), Kikaider, and his Master Piece: Cyborg 009, created in the 60s and talk about a group of people from all around the world who were kidnapped and became cyborgs and have to fight a evil secret organization who controls the world.

    Aka Akasaka is a brutal sneak holy shit. Levels of glazing unmatched. No Hirohiko Araki (the only one to have his work displayed at the LOUVRE MUSEUM), Inio Asano, Katushiro Otomo?? hell even Kishimoto if his work is not the best he left a cultural impact.Also Masamune Shiroo and writers of modern classics like Tatsuki Fujimoto or Q Hayashida

    Seen some folks bringing up some big names left out like Araki, but surprised that I havent seen anyone mention Leiji Matsumoto yet. Probably one of the most historically influential people in the world of anime and manga outside of Tezuka.

      nah. while i respect what he has done for the popularity of anime and AoT is truly incredible, I don't think he's brought anything to manga as a whole outside of that. like I struggle to find what he has influenced since AoT borrows so heavily from other mangas. plus the ending couldve been executed better

    If you ever do a part two I would highly recommend looking into the Year 24 group (Riyoko Ikeda, Moto Hagio, etc...). They're kinda the bare minimum for the shojo/josei demographic alongside the two you mentioned (Naoko Takeuchi, Junji Ito) and additional widely prolific shojo authors like Yuri Tamura, CLAMP, etc...

There's a reason all 3 of them were called the big 3, bleach easily left the biggest influence on many people during the early 2000s(and I'm saying this as someone who has been in the anime community for 10 years). Plus, urusawa is my favourite mangaka.

    Para todo quien quería empezar a leer Berserk pero piensa que se encontrara con un final abrupto no se preocupen, el manga continua ya que el mejor amigo de Miura (que tambien es un mangaka) se esta encargando de terminar la obra junto a los asistentes del autor, aparentemente Kentaro compartía su visión y el camino que tomara Berserk hasta su conclusión, esta claro que no será 100% igual a lo que el hubiera hecho pero debo decir que hasta ahora están haciendo un gran trabajo, por lo que uno puede esperar que salgan cosas buenas en los últimos arcos del manga.

    Riyoko Ikeda, Hagio Moto, Keiko Takemiya, and other members of the Year 24 Group are highly influential.
    Naoki Urasawa calls Hagio Moto the goddess of Shoujo, and he was nervous in his interview with her.
    Kentaro Miura was heavily inspired by Keiko Takemiya and Riyoko Ikeda.
    How do you have Kentaro Miura and Naoki Urasawa, but not the women who inspired them?

      @Skymind21 Astroboy is not a shonen it's Kodomo, and as for the others they are influential yes, but tbh neither me or any friends have really seen them, menwhile my mother who hasn't watched a single anime know who Naruto is and recognizes him, same as many teachers in my school etc

      go nagai with tetsujin 28 created an entire genre, kajiwara created the spokon and wrote all the greatest classics, hokuto no ken is the most influential manga of the last 40 years and kenshiro's design is the most copied ever (guts , jojo, thorfinn just to give a few examples), we are talking about mangaka, Toei anime are something else.
