Lol, I can relate. Doing a major chop on special plants is stressful. I had been wanting to do this for about a year and couldn't bring myself to do it. Now I'm ready to do more chopping! You can do it!
Wow!!! You did a great job and I'm so glad it was successful. Now, after watching your video, I need a Pink Princess in my collection. Thank you for sharing.
Peggy I'm so happy for you because the time ,the stress and the money we put into these plants it's great when things work out right now I am struggling with my anthurium warocqueanum the leves came looking great but after a few days they looks soft striverling up love given it water ,chuncky soil, humidity and it's still going south l think I will covet the bottom with plastic hopefully it will help.
Don't give up on it. I have lost all of the leaves on just about every anthurium I'm ever received in the mail. However, all but one has giving me new leaves that are now doing fine. Anthurium seem to go through a major acclimation phase. Hopefully, that is all you are experiencing. Best of luck!
Wow, mother of ducks, well if those cuties get half of the love and care that your beautiful healthy plants get, they will live forever….you go mommyX2 you do have those special caring hands😇😍😇
I cut up mine. I got it from logee’s as a non perfect plant (which it didn’t look that bad) I tried one in soil & the rest in water. Water prop was definitely the best way to propagate but soil worked it just took longer. My top cutting already has new growth. I’m very happy with the results 💕
Peggy, I understand that you use miracle grow. I would suggest you try the miracle grow for azaleas and camellias. It’s in the blue and green box. Higher nitrogen content and more iron. It’s also acidic. You’ll be amazed! I’ve been using this for all of my houseplants for years and it is superior.
If you had heard me freaking out when making the cuts, you wouldn't call me brave at all. Fortunately it worked out for the best. Thank you for watching!
It freaked me out when I started cutting but after seeing the results other people were having, I had to try it. I'm so glad I did. Thanks for watching!
Great video Ms Peggy, have not seen any videos for a while. I hope all is well with you and your family.. one I will splurge on a pink princess; I have great knowledge I just need to get a plant...
I've been going through some things but am hanging in there. It feels good to be back in touch with my plant friends. Thanks for watching and for the well wishes.🌿💚
You needed to cover all the aerial roots with the moss for them to put out the roots on the top cutting. Aerial roots is the way philos grow new roots. Great job! 😀👍
I can relate to that feeling. It's amazing how fast and colorful the propagations continue to grow. I hope you will be equally satisfied with your results. Thanks for watching.
Hey Peggy I see great minds think alike I’m working on my PPP video as we speak but your cuttings turned out beautiful 😍 this video really gives me hope.
Thank you Ms. Peggy. I’m still afraid to cut mine. I don’t have an extremely green thumb, its just a pale green at best, so I would probably kill all of the cuttings and I’d end up with nothing😞 Maybe some day I will put on my big girl panties and try it💚🙃
Well done!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Looks like I need to get a mini grow tent if there's such a thing, lol. I just bought a tiny pp off eBay and suffer anxiety every day now as a result. I 🙏🏾 it will make it through the winter.
The PP seem to be pretty hardy plants. While my other plants were getting attacked by pests, the PP just sat and watched. It has grown amazingly fast since propagating it. If it's small enough, you can always use a ziplock bag in place of a grow tent. Best of luck to you with yours!
@Renee Terry Thank you. I've since bought a grow light and 2 bigger top cuttings Which has been giving me more pink but will tie them onto poles to get bigger leaves.
Well I do not have a pink princess. BUT I found the same to be true with my Epipremnum Pinnatum. (Spelling?). I chopped one plant up because she was like your PP. Just looking awful. Took half of forever to root and get to growing but oh boy once those cuttings took off it was like STAND BACK!!! I sent those older cuttings to Suzette because I took three more for Suzzette off my second plant of EP and it took too long to root and I wanted to send her at least a leaf or two on the sticks. LOL so I sent her the first cuttings. But the mother plant I took the second cuttings from shot up at least two foot and now I am going to have to nip her off because she has a 6 foot tall trellis and I can not go taller. Her leaves are about 9 inches long. Holes in them but no full fenestrations. Thanks for sharing this Peggy Duck Mom. They are cute!!
These plants seem to thrive after cutting them. Your Epip Pinn sounds like it's gone wild. I love it! I'm sure Suzette is happy too. Thanks for sharing your experience and for watching.
@@PeggysPlants Yes I am mentally gearing up to chop my Mamei to share with Suzette is all goes well. So scary. And last night I discovered the leader on my Jungle Boogie had snapped. My bad for not tying her up soon enough. She is headed for perlite as soon as I finish the little project I am doing right now Brought the perlite into the house and soaking it while I work. I might nip her into two pieces so Suzette can have a fuller plant of her right off. Piece that snapped is 20 inches long. I have not checked the node situation yet. Lots on the bottom.
Hi Peggy, did you poke holes on the bottom of the plastic cup during the 2 month mark of reviving your top cutting? It’s beautiful!! I’m glad you got to revive it successfully with beautiful leaves!!
Hi Lisa, no I did not. Once I felt like the roots were hardy enough, I transplanted the cutting to Leca. I don't leave anything in moss long term. Just a personal preference as there are so many ways to root and grow plants. Thanks for watching!
Hello. How do you move from a dirt root system to leca? I got a baby pink princess with a dirt plug, and i want to try growing in leca, like you. Should i wash tbe dirt away and get down to bare roots, then plant in leca? I love all of your great advice! I'm so excited with this plant, my first PP. : )
Hi Peggy Mother Of Ducks !! I am a soon to be mother of sansivieria boncel mini. I was wondering if you could do a video on the plant since you have had it for some years now n I can't find much information about it..
I believe I put the cuttings directly into leca, which is my normal practice, although I sometimes root cuttings in sphagnum moss or perlite. I seldom use water for propagating. It's just a matter of personal preference.
Indeed, my PP is now a swan...several swans. 😀 I've been missing in action. Life has been happening and I'm working to find my place. Hopefully, I will be able to be more consistent in the future. Thanks for watching.
Duck mom and plant mom extraordinaire!! Your princesses are growing beautifully. Thanks for sharing. I am not brave enough to cut up my plants yet.

Thank you for watching. Now go get your Pink Princess! LOL
I bought a Pink Princess Philo cutting with 5 leaves with pink color and roots for 40.00 dollars. YAYYY!!!!
@@elmerbaez6784 that’s awesome. I’m hoping to find one next! Where did you get yours?
Just got a baby pink princess. Don't want to kill it. I put it immediately in my humidity box. Your video is extremely encouraging 🥰🥰🥰
I'm pleased you found the video helpful. Thanks for watching and best of luck with your PPP.
That was great. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Thank you!
I love how you showed the progress. I’m getting my first pink princess. It should be here next week. I’m super excited
How exciting. I hope it arrives in excellent condition. Enjoy!

Sounds great! Thanks for sharing your propagation success!
Do you think sphagnum moss can be used as a permanent growing medium or should it go in soil?
This is so encouraging! Thank you so much for sharing, your plants are beautiful 🤩
Thank you for watching and I'm glad you found it encouraging. May there be plenty of pink in your future propagations! Thanks for watching!
I love your ducks! Also that top cutting is so ideal
Thanks Twisty!
I like when you show what's going on in your grow tent. Great video!

AMAZING! This was such a thorough video. I'm inspired to chop mine up too!!
I'm really impressed with the results. Best of luck!

It has been fun to watch for sure! Go on and get one.
Thank you Peggy this is so informative. Yes I use leica too it's easy to use. I'll try my hand on some philodendrons in the future.

Niiiice🖤. I wish I had a friend like you😀 Those are very expensive plants. I have a large philodendron I would give away for a pink princess
I can't part with a princess. Maybe once I have at least one well established large plant.

I would love to grow this philodendron. I am going to look for one locally. It may be difficult in winter.

I noticed young PPP tend to do well in plastic cups.
I often use plastic cups so I can see the root development without disturbing the plant.

Should i wash tbe dirt away and get down to bare roots, then plant in leca? I love all of your great advice! I'm so excited with this plant, my first PP. : )
I just did a video showing how I transitioned some of my plants from soil to leca. Here is a link: ruclips.net/video/0kVYuolvAsQ/видео.html
Nice and good video! Could you share what did you add to the water of the leca propagation? Any nutrients etc?
I didn't add any nutrients to the propagation.
Hi Peggy Mother Of Ducks !!
I am a soon to be mother of sansivieria boncel mini. I was wondering if you could do a video on the plant since you have had it for some years now n I can't find much information about it..
I will see what I can do. I'm so far behind since life has been dealing me some curve balls. Enjoy your mini!
What is the round things in the pots.
They are hydroton pellets, often referred to as LECA
Did you start with water propagating and then move them to the leca? Or planted after immediately cutting?
I believe I put the cuttings directly into leca, which is my normal practice, although I sometimes root cuttings in sphagnum moss or perlite. I seldom use water for propagating. It's just a matter of personal preference.
My ppps are stuck right in the potting soil and they are beasts
That's great. Mine just wasn't doing anything at all so I had to make some changes. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Peggy, have you moved any of the propagations into soil a year later?
Without going to look, I believe they are all still in Leca.
Awww duck 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆 mom
LOL, indeed!
can i use soil for propagation
Many people use soil for propagation. This is just what works for me. I highly encourage you to use the process you are most comfortable with.
did you provide any fertiliser ?
Not during propagation. I usually wait until my plant is well established as not to burn the roots.
What are you growing them in? It’s not dirt.
I am growing them in hydroton pellets, also known as LECA. Thanks for watching!
Do you add nutrients to the top piece in moss?
No, I don't add anything but water.
Wow your ugly duckling changed into a swan. The color is amazing 😀 Your another I have go check, no notifications for ever.
Indeed, my PP is now a swan...several swans. 😀 I've been missing in action. Life has been happening and I'm working to find my place. Hopefully, I will be able to be more consistent in the future. Thanks for watching.
Hi Peggy Mother of Duck.😂
Hello! Thanks for stopping by.🌿💚
I swear by perlite propagating!
It works for me, especially with plants that have tiny roots.
