- Just got a Gold Tone banjola....made a few mods and will probably make a few more...but this thing is a Joy right out of the box. i will try and make some better videos soon, but if you're on the fence about getting a banjola....get one!
Yea, I'm diggin the Banjola too. Nice deep woody tone topped off with the banjo twang. I liked the solo section and the little twist you did there. Once again, totally entertained , thank you!
thanks! it's such a cool instrument
Never heard nor seen a banjola. Pretty cool. I recognized the banjo neck, but no drum body. Interesting the instruments that have been made, and a nice sound too!
thanks....neither had i....and i am really enjoying the ability to have that sound while still using the fundamentals of banjo playing.
Incredible cover and holy shit that's the coolest banjo I've ever seen!
thank You.....pretty fun to play, too!
That was Very Impressive ❤
Thank you for doing this great song and posting it!
I’ve been contemplating learning this song on the banjo for a while and your video here just helped me decide to go for it . 💙❤
Thanks Harlan! i also have a banjo version i did a while back on my channel.....it's a great song to play on the banjo
Marvelous
Thanks Frank!
Beautiful! What a treat!
Thank you Marion!
Might be even better sounding on the Banjola!
thanks Jake! the banjola is pretty fun....but i'm still partial to the banjo, but it's a cool diversion
Omg love it!
Thank You!
Sounds great! First Banjola I’ve seen.
I have an old, old banjitar I still need to play.
That is just such a prime Lindsay riff.
Thanks....i'd love to see that....i'm just discovering these beautiful instruments
@@rawbeets Mine’s just an old 6 string banjo with no resonator (lost to time or never had one).
It sadly won’t have the traditional tone, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to alter the bridge and/or tailpiece (and tuning) to be able to fake some drone.
The drum got ripped when I moved, so I bought a cheap dulcimer to play while my wrist healed.
So, now I’m a hack with 4 guitars and 2 “others.” I can still write music, so there’s that.
As far as I can tell, dating these things are really tough!
@@rawbeets Shhot! Hope I’m not being a bother.
I meant to ask what kind of wood that is.
@@genghis_connie no bother....i love talking about instruments. the top is solid spruce and the back and sides are curly maple. i sanded down the top and stained it. here's the link to what it looked like originally: goldtonemusicgroup.com/goldtone/instruments/banjola-plus it was great right out of the box....i'm just in the habit of modifying instruments to fit my playing style and aesthetic tastes.
@@genghis_connie i think what i'd do is swap the low E (6th string) out for a lighter string, like maybe a 12.....you might have to experiment with gauges since the string is going further(all the way to the headstock) than with the typical 5th string tuner at the 5th fret. Then i'd tune it g A D G B D so it's similar to a banjo but has the low A...... which i think would be very cool and they do make 6 string banjos tuned like that. hope that helps!
This is supposed to be impossible on banjo ; ) amazing
Thanks! i heard somewhere that Lindsey Buckingham started on banjo....which makes perfect sense
