📲 Yay! Our Pick Up Limes app is finally here (1-week free trial!): bit.ly/PUL_app 🎉
I just paused this video to clean out my purse. Now I'm going to go clean out my junk drawer. Be right back. 😁💖
Hahaha - you're too awesome! :D
The biggest "minimalist" thing I did for my wallet was to a) go cash free and b) get loyalty cards integrated into my regular credit/debit cards, or c) get an app instead of a loyalty card. So now all I have is 2 cards in my wallet! There is no way I would ever remember to clean my purse out regularly...
I started saying "no" when the gas pump asks if I want a receipt. That helps too!! 💖
A loyalty card app is an awesome idea!
+A Beautiful Horizon So true about receipts. Whenever I clean out my purse, that is the main reason for any clutter :S
I have noticed that more and more loyalty apps in my country are giving you electronic reciepts instead, and I really hope it will catch on!
"Day 30: Mind." I almost cried. I am starting to create the minimalist lifestyle and I watch mostly your videos. Thanks for the inspiration. :)
If you have extra towels or blankets that aren't in the best shape animal hospitals and shelters can always use them:)
That's a great tip and not one I've heard before. Thanks so much for sharing, Caitlin ❤
I cut them into little squares and use them as cleaning cloth!
Pick Up Limes I got a lot of towels, blankets, old fashioned sheets, quilts after my grandma death and animal shelter was more than happy to take it.
Another place where I donated part of sheets and blankets which was in better shape was hospice.
Thank you! I don't always need so many rags!
Very true! Our local non kill shelter actually puts out a plea for towels and blankets during kitten season.
In less than 20 minutes, you’ve provided me with a year’s worth of work. 😯
In less than 10mins ,to be more exact
PassinTime ikr!!!
If that's "a year's worth of work", you clearly have WAY too much stuff! Get rid of it.
That's funny. ☺🍰
So funny 😆
After watching this, I've realized i've been doing this for my entire adult life without labelling it, no wonder it always felt better when i decluttered my phone or one of my drawers. But you added more items i need to check. Absolutely love the video.
I usually do my decluttering by rooms. I tackle one room at a time.
Same.
It’s videos like this that make me wish RUclips offered a “love” button. Such helpful information. I have already begun a minimalist declutter. It feels wonderful. The pdf will be a handy tool.
Aw Lauren, you're the sweetest. This means a lot to me - thanks so much! ❤
Lauren Ramsey omg ikr!!
I'm not a minimalist and is not likely to ever be one, however I found this video really inspirational. I've actually been doing a little bit of these in the past two weeks. Spent several long nights just decluttering my documents (I've actually been hoarding documents, receipts, etc for well over a decade and it's just silly really), and I've also done a lot of clean-up on my computer, and now I feel inspired to want to tackle the rest. I just started a new position at my job which has given me more time and energy, and I would really love to actually do some decluttering, so thank you for this guide.
I know and accept that when it comes to shoes and clothes I will not be minimalist. I got rid of a lot of books and furniture though and other objects
I am SO excited for this video, especially because I know how much work went into making it from your Instagram stories! I can't wait to get rid of all my extra bags, clothes and tupperware. Thanks for the inspiration, Sadia!
Hehe yes, the editing was rather involved for this one :P Sending lots of love your way, Nisha ❤
pleeeeeeease colab with break the twitch! i love u both :D
I like the idea of breaking it down into daily tasks. Thank you for the inspiration and the free, printable list!!!
thank you for this! i have tried the konmari method before, but i tried to do it all at once and was completely overwhelmed. you‘re so calming and lovely. it‘s wonderful.
Thanks so much, Chelsea ❤
A Part of decluttering that I’ve added before the year ends, is to declutter social media (Facebook, Instagram, youtube, Pinterest). Unfollowing/unfriending the people, companies or groups that no longer bring joy to my life. Opening my social media now is more enjoyable and no more pressure or burdens added to my journey of clearing my life/mind.
Thanks for sharing. Your videos bring me joy and a sense of calmness. ♥️
Love love LOVE this video! You did an incredible job breaking this topic down for clearer understanding and the printable PDF is on point! Super helpful. Thank you for sharing such impactful information with the world. :)
Alyse!! :) I love your videos, you're so inspiring
Aw that's such a compliment to receive, Alyse! Thanks so much and thank YOU for the all the meaningful content you share ❤
Ommmg two of my favorite people!! Hiiii i love u two
i guess im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a trick to log back into an instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my account password. I would love any help you can give me.
@Tyson Torin Instablaster :)
We just evacuated Puerto Rico and were able to bring very little with us (we were pretty minimalist down there anyway) I am so excited to begin a new life in a new city with a minimalist plan! Moving is so much less scary (and cheaper) when you are not bogged down with things, and you are not interested in buying many things for the new place! Thank you so much for your videos, you are such an inspiration!!
I'll surely be following along! I really liked the way you broke it down so that it doesn't feel like a chore or a punishment, but a way to cherish what is worth keeping and removing what has no longer a purpose in your life. Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Thank you, Mauni ❤
I just wanted to say Thank you! I recently decided to adopt a vegan lifestyle. That is how I found your channel. I started watching your videos and love them. I am now researching and considering a minimalist lifestyle. Before I watched your videos I had no Idea what minimalism really was. I am very greatful for your videos. Thank you for taking the time to make them. They truly have inspired me.
Your videos make me want to make the quality of my life better ❤
What a compliment, Asha - thank you!! ❤
Pick Up Limes you're welcome, have a nice day!
The same happens to me! That's why I love watching her videos. They make me want to improve and motivate me!
I love how to broke everything down into such simple tasks. It makes the whole decluttering process seem SO much more approachable. Thank you!
I've been decluttering for about a year now and have probably got rid of 3/4 of my things, but I feel like there is more I can do to feel lighter and happier :) In exactly a months time I am moving to a new flat and your list sounds perfect to help me go through my house again before the move! Thanks
Hope you love your new home! Wishing you all the best, Karou ❤
I recently discovered your channel because I was interested in bullet journaling and I am starting to watch all your videos! Your voice is so calm and inspires you to be better! Thank you so much for these beautiful videos
Your voice is sooo soothing 💓
Thank you for all your useful videos...love from Nepal 💓
Elevation found Nepali, yayy 😂
Elevation right? And her diction is delicious!
Deleting pictures is the hardest part actually! I was organised but it included the things that I didn't need so now I'll focus on that, thanks for your videos!
um this is gonna be perfect for when I need to procrastinate during finals week....
We accepted the challenge of this video and are on day 10! We have loved simplifying and beautifying our home. Our goal is a 60% reduction in stuff so that we can all feel more at peace. Thank yoU!!!
Don't toss old towels!! Donate them to the pet shelter :)
Hell yes!! I didnt know you could do that!
Or cut them up and use them as rags!
Ok cut them and use them as cleaning towels
Or donate to thrift shops (some sell them, give them away or upcycle them to be something else)
@@randomname7546 Decluttering my entire at the moment. Charity shops will take most things, even old rags can be recycled at most places. Google anything you arent sure of (old pens, batteries, pierced earrings can all find homes and new uses!).
Every time I am feeling down, depressed, or stressed out I come over to your channel and watch your latest video. Almost all of the videos you make put me back on track and help me realign myself. You are impacting so many wonderful people with your way of life. You're incredible. Thank you for being there to get me out of my slump.
What a great guide! Sometimes I pity the fact that my life is already as declutterd as can be, so there's hardly anything left to organize. But luckily I have my annual cleaning and rearranging rituals, so it still feels like decluttering. 😋
#FirstWorldProblems :-)
That’s why you should adopt a friend and help them declutter!
You just changed my life... I've been so terrified of starting and then BOOM! There was you... Making it all so peacefully easy to make the transition. I am making it my July project :) Thank you for sharing it with us!!!
This weekend I took out time to declutter and organize my phone, photos and email account and I felt really good after that. I am definitely going to download this PDF and follow it. Thanks, Sadia. Your videos are always so wonderful!
Thanks so much, Muktai! ❤
Hey sadia
I just absolutely love your videos. This series on Minimalism is just great and helping me a lot. As a student I think minimalism is something we should totally adopt. Thank you so very much.
Hi Sadia !! Thanks for being there for us and personally you’re like my mentor for life 😊. Whatever I’m doing now for me is just because of you. Thank you !!😊
Aw you're too kind, Parth! Thanks so much for the kind words ❤
I have been thinking of living the minimalist lifestyle, but I waent sure how and if I can do it. And most of the time I was just lazy to get started but yesterday I fibally decided I will do it and I have started in my clothes. Before that I did some research on how to do it. And now I am thankful I found this video with a free guideline. I will use it tomorrow when I continue decluttering my room. Thanks!
I am a minimalist myself already but I'd watch any videos of yours anytime
I love the last point how you say "Day 30: The mind.. ".. Yes it is.. I've started minimalism and finally able to find the meaning of that last point. Thanks a lot.
I desperately need to do this but it fills me with anxiety.
I live in Japan. I don't have access to clothing in my size and my weight fluctuates frequently. I'm of lower income and I just don't have the money to replace things at short notice.
The waste makes me feel incredibly guilty as well. Thrift stores aren't a thing. Japan has a massive disposable mentality...
I have mental illness (it's stable atm though) which I don't think really helps the situation but because of my bipolar I have a LOT of what if items because my hobbies are so diverse :/ I've got to do this...
Hi you sound like a wonderful person. I just wanted to give you a shout out... You can do it! Stay strong! I know what it is like to struggle with mental illness. Best wishes xoxo
Something you have to keep in mind when watching decluttering or minimalism videos is that it's based around simplicity to make you happier and de stressed, not just to get rid of stuff. If you need the things you have, then consider organizing each category (not even with fancy containers just reorganizing) and cleaning them instead. I don't live in Japan but I am a college student in the US so I understand at least your situation with not having the income to replace clothing or furniture sort of thing.
My room is clean. I even traded out my bed for a foldable futon that fits in my closet. The rest of the house has my dad's stuff. It's like stepping into a different world when I come home in the summer.
i knew the "extra stuff" was bothering me, but it did not occur to me that i should let it go.. hmm.. gna give it a try..hv been binge watching ur videos since yesterday.. feeling very inspired, both in terms of diet (vegetarian if not vegan) and minimalism..keep up the good work Sadia.. much love from India.
I printed out the pdf you made. It's already being extremely helpful in helping me reduce the clutter in my life. Bonus points - We're moving in 2-3 months and your video plus list are making sure I don't pay to move any junk we just plain don't need!
Such a helpful and wonderful video. Love your work 👍
Thanks so much, Disha :D
Hi Sadia..... after watching your videos and reading your blogs, I have really inspired... as you said, i take some time on Sunday to clean my house and declutter my things. now a days i have started to note my daily goals and try to complete it... results, i got appreciation from my boss... thanks you so much for all of these. I am happy that I am trying all these things but in my own pace.. thank you once again.
continues to be such a refreshing channel! hence the rapid growth that continues to sky rocket. an authentic example of gods grace and favor where it is deserved. continue to do great works sadia, xo 😘
Thank you so much! :D
I am from Spain but now I live in The Netherlands in a small but nice and comfortable studio so I don't have many things here but it's true that the pile of papers from the letters and magazines, etc. is getting bigger day by day so I will start trowing all of them. It is hard to start cleaning but the hardest thing is to clean your mind.
Thank you for your video, is a good way of being aware of all the stuff we have a home that we don't really need. Have a good day!
Another great video. Can you please show how to make cleaning supplies at home from vinegar, baking soda and Castile soap? And how to clean with these products effectively.. I have two teenagers and a German Shepherd
Irina Veksler I have an awesome product, that cleans and is all natural and has a great smell.
My sister pointed me to your channel a long time ago, but I admittedly forgot to check it out. Then after a breakup followed by a sudden need to move, I realized how much junk I have (1 uhaul + 2 pickup trucks full). I've had enough. I'm happy I've stumbled upon your channel again. Thank you for making this video and I plan to thank my sister for pointing me in your direction in the first place lol Next time, I'll listen! Now to follow your guide and get rid of the excess junk!
You look like amal clooney. Just younger and fresher.. love all you videos! Btw the phone, its so me. Everytime texts calls or chats come, i delete it after i read it. Sometimes i was called heartless bcs i tend to delete right away everything, even from my bf or mom, like i have nothing there to treasure... idk i think attachment is really the root of suffering...
Same here😂
This video is amazing ❤️As a student studying abroad and has accumulated many stuff over the school years, I didn’t know what to begin with and how to give up most of the items. Love love love this video!
Practical, easy to follow and totally helpful, as always. Thank you so much ! ☺
Thank you, Mohit :)
Love this video.
On a different note - I am having trouble opening the comments on videos. It seems to work only 10% of the time for me - for different videos and channels. I'm glad I was able to read the comments this time.
Great video! I do the same thing every year. (Declutter) right before the holidays. So already got started. But I downloaded the printable thank you so much for having it for free. :)
I'm so excited to do this! I've been decluttering my apartment with my husband for about 7 months now, but it still feels like there's too much. I printed off your agenda and I'm excited to start tomorrow!
I love how you detailed and explained everything in a short video. I hope I'd be able to finish the 30-day. You just earned a subscriber ! 💕
In my six years of youtube life, this is the best video on organization and decluttering ♥
how can someone be soo soothing and calm ☺☺☺☺😍love for u sadia 💓
Love love this video! The 30 days challenge is helping me so much. It's less painful to get rid of stuff day-by-day instead of discarding everything at the same time.
7:09 .. ""this can be the hardest.."
..especially if you throw it away and it comes back :)
Thank you so much for this breakdown to minimalism! I'm excited to start this journey towards mental and physical decluttering. God bless you!
I just love watching your videos. You're such a pleasure to watch and your content and PDF's are so helpful. Thank you for keeping it simple and on point. ❤
Thanks so much, McCann ❤
this is my DAY ONE with your videos. I have enjoyed your printout. I will look at your playlists (one a day)(tomorrow will be your playlist video minimal WHILE I DO THE 30 day list... ONE ITEM PER DAY (of course) ... you are the third person I've been watching one day at a time and IT IS DOING WONDERS for our apartment. THANKS!
you are so pretty:) and the voice here is slightly deeper than in other videos, I find it very soothing. thanks for the content you create. xoxo all best to you
Watching this has made me realize i have been a minimalist for some time now. What i gained from this is the perspective that it can be done in small parts. It's a good reminder.
Perfect timing yet again lol omg I was searching for printables.
Happy to have helped in some way ;)
Theses aren’t tips that will help us only to following minimalism. They are actually tips to organize our whole life! Thank you so much Sadia for such awesome tips!
I appreciate your videos so much! Thank you!
The idea of the 30-day-decluttering is something I haven't heard so far! Sounds fresh although it's been 2 years! Thank you!
I am so excited to start this!!! Thank youuu
Hello Sadia,
Thank you for creating such a wonderful guide to cleaning day by day towards minimalism. Usually, I’m really stubborn with lifestyle advice because of cliché statements in the self help community, but this plan is very well organized. Also, I am someone that gets overwhelmed with cleaning and this guide truly helped compartmentalize my life. I recommend it to anyone. Thankyou Sadia
Hi Sadia! You are awesome.Your videos are so perfect and useful. Thanks for uploading this type of suggestive video.
I am nearly 16 and I am sick and tired of my cluttered room, mind, and life in general. School became my primary focus and I lost control of everything else. I am done with this lifestyle. I am going to do this. I am really hoping to be much happier when I head into my last two years of high school and start my career. I nearly cried when I realized how much junk I really have. Thank you for this video - it has motivated me to change my life for the better, both mentally, environmentally and physically.
Love this video! I'd recommend things like old towels and sheets could be donated to animal shelters to give the puppies/kittens a nice snuggle blanket!
I've just started my minimalist journey. I've got a chronic illness which was my main reason for wanting to make a change. I've watched many RUclips videos but the advice was always information overload. I was finding it very hard to declutter all these things at once because of the pain I struggle with. I love how informative and helpful your advice is breaking it down in to categories will help me so much! Thanks you're very easy to understand and don't overload with too much information. New subscriber here! 😊
Thank You very much for sharing the pdf with us
this is so inspiring and relaxing, im only 16 but pretty much have cleaned most of my room and used mari kondos method and i love cleaning and interiour design some people think its weird for a young teenager to do this but i lvoe it!
Hi Sadia Love your Channel you voice is very calming to watch. So Motivated and Inspired now to get going and to declutter the things I don't need. Thank You for sharing.
Thank you!! ❤
I watch this multiple times every year since this was released whenever I feel like I need to go back to a clean slate.
This was a very helpful and nice video. I'll be sure to use some of your tips! I just didn't like how you spoke about dictionaries. What is wrong with still using one? I found it condescending to say "it's now called google". Not everyone loves to exchange books for digital media. And PS, before anyone hates, I'm 20. Not all our generation lives in the digital world.
My sincerest apologies, xSilentHope, as this was meant to come across more as a joke more than anything. The tips I offer in any of the PUL videos are just meant to offer some suggestions, but as you may know: I always encourage people to do what feels best to them. If an item makes you happy, then by all means keep it - there is nothing wrong with it in the least. I hope you can understand and sending much love ❤
xSilentHope I'm sure it wasn't meant that way. Keep in mind: if a youtuber/public person always censors what they say so no-one could possible ever be offended by it, things get pretty...unspontaneous and tense. We all want to listen to people who are genuine and open...but that also means we might get confronted with something that rubs us the wrong way every now and then. But as long as there was no bad intent...why not shrug and respond: "I LOVE my dictionary!'" ☺
Or think about it that way: Who is the person you're hurting most by being offended? YOU! Same with anger...or most negative emotions. Yes, they are completely natural and sometimes useful to mobilise the strength to defend yourself...but mostly they are just a waste of time and energy. It took me a long, long time to learn that...to calmly (and humorouly) make my point if I disagree, without letting it get to me emotionally...but it makes for a much happier life.
xSilentHope so so so true what u said.. there’s no harm in having one or two dictionaries that too from our childhood..
I study literature & so I use dictionnaries on a regular basis but I understand Sadia's point. So many people keep dictionnaries without using them just for the sake of it. In the line of a minimalist approach, keeping dictionnaries without using them is pointless.
These kinds of videos make me both inspired and deeply depressed.
I have anxiety and chronic depression (bipolar) and not having clutter or mess around me helps keeping me relaxed and balanced. So I'd really like to live minimalist and have purged large parts of my belongings.❤️
However. I have a husband and three kids under 12yo and none of them are particularly interested in minimalism or even tidying..... So even though I now have very few thibgs that are mine there is stuff EVERYWHERE. The girls wast all the craft stuff in existance and barbies+accessories galore, my husband has instruments and random papers on every surface and my son has more lego than all of Denmark and an impressive collection of cups and glasses on his desk. And the clothes, oh the amount of clothes...!! I feel like I run after everyone else picking up their sh*t to have a house that is even almost tidy enough not to raise my pulse. It just seems hopeless and like I'm never going to have a home I love. 😔 If I could choose I would have a bright and uncluttered home like you. Maybe some day. For now though, I let your videos calm me. 😉❤️❤️
I was about to go clean my wallet and realized it’s empty
ѕυɴɴуxєм 23 OOO MY GOOODDDDDDDDD 😂😂😂😂😂🤦🏽♀️
Literally me
Donate wallet too then
Athhar P M 🤣yea right it’s worth more than I am
what a mood
Hahahaha
I never knew I was starting to be a minimalist until I went through this vid. Just last week when I opened my pouch and saw some unnecessary receiptssssss, out of nowhere I threw them all away (which I don’t do so often) and also last week, I had cut down photos on my phone from 9200 to 3000. Ghaaad I am loving this. To a more organized and peaceful life, self. Hahaha. Thanks for this vid ❤️ Great one
I DID It All In One Day LOL
@CC CC 🏅 ⭐️ 🙌🏼 Congrats to you. I'm assuming you had a small space, and/or not a lot of possessions to start with. Doing it all in one day isn't possible for most households with adults beyond their 20's-30's (more life experience very often also equals more furniture and household items, and a larger home. )
Gg man...i could not do it... I'm 12 and VERY emotional attached to my things
Hi this is Issy from OZ. Recently I have started decluttering becoming quite over enthusiastic. I have just watched your 30 days to minimalism and it is the answer to my prayers of keeping me organised and not make even more mess than I have just created in my enthusiasm. Thank you.
if I wasnt a teenager lives with his family you d find in my house one shirt and a cup of water with bread
I can actually understand that when I moved to the dorm I was surprised how little do I need for a comfortable life
Same here
I did it all, such as delete a photo in my phone, throw a paper which I don't need, give my high school book to my sister, and always give my shirt to my neighbor. That's simple but give me big effect in my life 😍
Your junk drawer looks so much better than mine.. Like mine is literally FULL
But I guess I'm gonna change that now lmao
I want to thank you so much for this great video and that totally possible looking declutteration project, I really needed that right now. I'm currently in my last year of school, I'm going to turn 18 by the end of it, I have to apply for future education and I also make my driver's license at the moment. Life is getting so stressful right now but once I took all my finals I'm gonna do this minimalism project, so thank you so much for giving me something I can look forward to.
What a great video! Thanks so much!
I am just addicted to this channel. I am a huge fan of pick up limes. I just want to visit the Netherlands to meet Sadia.
Great video. But I am really shocked by the dictionary "now called google"
1) google keeps track of your data
2) the act of searching in a dictionamakes is learn. It's a process and the search helps memeorize. Have you noticed that we often search the same thing online again and again and don't remember it ?
3) what do you don't when the internet connection is poor ? Speaking of being 24/7 under wifi is not healthy and now that we are forced to switch to 5g we will be irradiated day and night. A physics researcher friend confirmed that wifi iradation is harmful to the brains development for children especially.
I am so happy people like you exist in the world. Love you and your channel, you are a pride to Morocco. Bless you ma belle!
Wow.. Thank you for this vdo...
Omg just yesterday I watched Minimalism documentary, and I realised it is just what I needed. Every month I worry about how much money I spend, and then feel guilty because I know I don't need most of the stuff I get... and I'm barely 21! Thank you very much for this helpful and relaxing video. I'm gonna start today. ♡
Very nice. Thank you and God bless you, Jesus loves you!
When I feel like I need to do some de-cluttering, what helps me is to choose a few "sections" of my room or area, like today is the bookcase, once that is complete moving on to something else, like closet or desk. It makes it seem way less overwhelming, so i agree with the categorization method!!!!
Die bonuskaart van de ah😂
Dreamy Daisy heb je de app van de NS ook gezien?
I watched a video about minimalism just yesterday and the woman who was talking about it made not only myself but quite a few people in the comment section upset. She spoke with such a judgmental tone, as if we should be ashamed of ourselves for not living more like her. I wasn't going to make anymore searches through RUclips because of her videos. However, this morning your video popped up in my suggested list and I'm so glad I watched it. Not only were you informative, you were also very kind and understanding. This is a pretty huge lifestyle change for some people. The way you approached things, the advice you gave that this wasn't going to be the easiest and it wasn't going to happen over night... I mean your attitude alone was so refreshing that I subscribed almost immediately. With that I say thank you and I can't wait to see what else your videos have to offer!
me: wants to be a minimalist
also me: tries to do everything in a day
I've been needing to declutter before we redo rooms in our house but I never knew where to begin. This helped so much. I downloaded the printable on my phone and did 1 day if I still had time and was motivated I did more.
wow i didn't know you are dutch or live in the netherlands?! yay 💕
I have just found your videos on youtube. I am really impressed!! So much so I have sent some to my daughter who is in her second year at university. Your videos are all so interesting and not preaching in the slightest. I am a new vegetarian (due to health and am thinking of going one step further and becoming Vegan, your videos are really helping me with that.
You forgot about the kids toys 😅 that would take me 30 more days
