This is my all time favorite band. I don't know a word of the Turkish language, I come from a completely different country. They have so many songs that are true rock masterpieces. "Ayip Olmaz Mi" amongst many, many other. I first heard them when they performed at Eurovision in Serbia around 2008 or 2009. Wish more people internationally would hear this band.
Serbian's and Balkan people love the band "Altin Gun" - I think you will too, give it a try. 90% of their first two albums have #1 quality songs which is almost unheard of.
The origial song is from 2004. Bir derdim var means, I have a problem. The band Mor ve Otesi are together since 1995. They have many song criticising the status quo. Since Muse also come together in 1994, both bands were feed from the time they are living. That's maybe why the sound is sometimes similar.
@@PowerfulReactionsI would recommend you to have a look at the original album version as well. As you listen to it several times, you notice new sounds and echoes in the background. It is very rich. May or may not be for another video, that is your call.
More like “I have a Sorrow/Worry” where it’s closer to a feeling that would eat you from inside unless you spit it out rather than a “problem,” which doesn’t carry the same critical nuance.

I think Mor ve ötesi is one of the best bands ever. Their lyrics are incredibly deep, political, rebellious, philosophical, revealing one's inner voice, ironic, yet naive, serene and intelligent... Great harmonies, incredibly deep song structures, amazing guitar riffs, each of them extremely complex and finely crafted arrangements... A world band, one of the best in the world... 👏🤟
Please ask a turkish friend what the lyrics mean. I literally cried... bir derdim var means "i have a problem" as in a festering feeling, "that i cannot contain within me anymore.." if i leave, until where..? What good is it of i stay""i cannot ever explain, they could never understand" this song is a statement.. so the 300 or so people in the background sing "i have a festering feeling" as a chorus it is a statement.
I cry almost everytime I hear it. I have goosebumps everytime I hear it. This song is not just a song but a feeling. They give that feeling geniunly feeling troubled .
The place where the concert is held is not a newly built castle. It is a church built in 532 in Istanbul, its name is Hagia Eirene Church. This building is 1489 years old.

Hey Johnny I agree with you they always reminded me Muse. I've seen this show live and i believe it is a special show for so many reasons. The church Hagia Irene is more than 1600years old built in AC 300s. Today worlds greatest orchestras like Wienna and Berlin Philarmonics gives concerts there, has amazing acustics and atmosphere. Even though I'm not in the Jazz choir, im a part of one of the other choirs that creates the Philharmonic Choir, and these MVO concerts were really amazing and an honor to be a part of... glad you liked it :)
No both are true because mor ve ötesi is a game on words. Basically in turkish language beyond purple and ultraviolet are the same thing so it is just “and” added between words.
I love Muse and Mor ve Ötesi both but never noticed how similar they were before. Thanks, that was a great review ! Also thanks for making me feel old ~ the first time I’ve listened to this song was like ages ago. 😅
Believe me Lyrics are so meaningful as well. Harun(vocals) graduated from Philosophy Faculty and he is very intellectual as well. Their music really hits me and give me goosebumps with their nice melodies and lyrics :) Thanks for sharing my favourite band ! :)
You should consider seeing them live for you own sake. Your mind will blown away! I recommend you to go and listen their albums from beginning to end. It’s a magical discography. Enjoy your time!
You took me back about 30 years. I'm not saying anything negative and I don't want to put myself forward, this memory will stay here. We are young, unknown people who are going to play a concert, we are not going to make money, we are just going to play. Today the guitarist of the band “Mor ve Ötesi” had a problem with his guitar. It was time for a concert and he needed a working guitar. One of us gave him his guitar, of course. That guy today, if you ask me, is one of the most enjoyable guitarists in today's world.
I have a sorrow I have a sorrow, and cannot stand it anymore, no matter how far I go, no use if I stay. I couldn't get it through to anyone, they didn't understand it at all. Why everyone is hostile? Why everyone is hostile? We've forgot all of them, Noah's breath. Don't get close to me, we're different from eachother. Look! this is the last act. There won't be another play from now on. There will be no light, nothing at all. I have a sorrow, and cannot stand it anymore.
The effect there is called delay, one of the most frequently used effects. That riff is a very iconic one, because the timing of the each hit of sound you hear is perfectly done. The delay timing plus the incredible swingy play of the guitar they blend in so well. Which makes it an amazing riff. Shouldn't forget to mention the note progression and every time the cycle is done the feeling of arriving home :)
your reactions are so genuine, I love it. just keep digging into Turkish music, all kinds, see for yourself how deep the rabbit hole goes... and believe me, it goes deep... you'll never be the same for knowing about some of the songs that only Turkish people know. Şebnem and all the others is just the tip of the iceberg.
Thank you Johnny, a good reaction, they are a classical rock group, yes may be similar to Muse, but the singer's way of singing is more oriental for me :) Please check their eurovision song contest songs in 2008 with the name of "deli" which means mad, crazy... Surely the song is not a eurovision style song but a rock performance too :)
Johnny, could you also check Bulutsuzluk Özlemi & Duman (a very popular grunge rock band in TR) - Uçtu Uçtu performance, also its a good vibe you will not regret.
Omg, this song was playing in my head all the day! Great coninsidence. Thnx again. Greetings from Turkey. Hayde 8 Doğa için çal is a song kinda play for change

Hey, thanks for the reaction I really enjoyed it. As a Turk, I've grown up with Mor ve Otesi songs and loved them deeply. When I discovered Muse I just felt the same things over again with goosebumps, they have definitely a similar style, I was shocked. I've always called Mor ve Otesi as Turkish Muse too haha. And the reason is their inspiration. Mor ve Otesi cited Radiohead as their inspiration and influence, the vocalist guy Harun has said a lot of times that he was hugely influenced by Thom Yorke, the Radiohead vocalist. And as we know Muse, especially their early work has always been seen as influenced by Radiohead. So, I see this situation as, both Muse and Mor ve Otesi took Radiohead as an early inspiration for their music, but they definitely made their own way and style. I love both bands so much and I'm so happy that someone else other than me sees and appreciates it. I hope you will do more Mor ve Otesi and Muse reactions, lots of love :)
I am a huge Muse fan and I've always thought the same thing, Muse and Mor ve Ötesi are similar. Of course Muse is a huge band and being that huge gives them enough opportunity to change their sound via using new technologies.

bands name is literally "ultraviolet" as in sound waves
Interesting ☺️
@@PowerfulReactions it's not ultraviolet. It's "purple and beyond". Peace :)
i always watch you before i sleep.i love your comments about songs. 🥰
I have a sorrow
I have a sorrow, and cannot stand it anymore,
no matter how far I go,
no use if I stay.
I was in your channel to suggest you THIS song and you uploaded the video omg what a coincidence man, im freaking out rn!
Fyi, Mor ve ötesi and Şebnem Ferah sometimes performs together in festivals recently, think of the joy🤩
The effect there is called delay, one of the most frequently used effects. That riff is a very iconic one, because the timing of the each hit of sound you hear is perfectly done. The delay timing plus the incredible swingy play of the guitar they blend in so well. Which makes it an amazing riff. Shouldn't forget to mention the note progression and every time the cycle is done the feeling of arriving home :)
maNga ''Alışırım Gözlerimi Kapamaya '' reaction , please :)
Love from Turkey buddy. We love u.. ❤️❤️
your reactions are so genuine, I love it.
just keep digging into Turkish music, all kinds, see for yourself how deep the rabbit hole goes...
and believe me, it goes deep... you'll never be the same for knowing about some of the songs that only Turkish people know. Şebnem and all the others is just the tip of the iceberg.
Mor ve Ötesi is the best Band in Turkey and thus is my Song i love it. Its take me to an oder World ❤❤❤
Thank you Johnny, a good reaction, they are a classical rock group, yes may be similar to Muse, but the singer's way of singing is more oriental for me :) Please check their eurovision song contest songs in 2008 with the name of "deli" which means mad, crazy... Surely the song is not a eurovision style song but a rock performance too :)
Johnny, could you also check Bulutsuzluk Özlemi & Duman (a very popular grunge rock band in TR) - Uçtu Uçtu performance, also its a good vibe you will not regret.
Sure 👌☺️
Şu şarkılardan geldiğimiz noktanın varoşluğu beni öldürüyor.

As a Turkish person, Mor ve Ötesi is my favourite Turkish band meanwhile Muse being my favourite international band
Lyrics for people around the world:
violet & ultra - I have a problem
I have a problem
I can't hold it inside anymore
If I go, where to?
If I stay, what for?
I could never tell
They never understood
Why is everyone enemy
Why is everyone enemy
We forgot it all
Noah's breath
Don't come near me
You and I differ
I have a problem
I can't hold it inside anymore
If I go, where to?
If I stay, what for?
I couldn't talk about it
They never understood
Look, this is the last stage
No play after that
No light no nothing
No
No
No...
I've got a problem / I've got a problem
I've got a problem / I've got a problem
I've got a problem / I've got a problem
I can't hold it / inside
I have a problem
I can't hold it inside anymore

Mor ve Ötesi ❤ Türkiye gurur duyuyor sizinle
