I am the same way. I'm actually diagnosed with major depression, anxiety, OCD. My parents died back to back a couple of years ago, matter of fact today is the 2nd anniversary of my mom's death and exactly in a month my dad's. I blew a gasket and checked in to a mental hospital. Every hour was a different group. The one I liked was Music Therapy, they gave each person an instrument and a song book with lyrics and most of the songs were melancholic. The person giving the group when I asked "Doesn't make people more depressed, because I do this at home every night on RUclips, listen to sad songs" She said no, that it actually helps keep you in touch with your feelings and your mood for the moment that it actually creates endorphins that make you feel good, even if you cry. Anyway stayed three days and thought it was a good experience overall. But I won't be going back. Yes, I am a Major Depressive, but to watch these poor people with horrendous disorders was more than I could deal with. The ones who will probably never leave.
