I have been trying to understand chapter 5 for a few days unsuccessfully! Then it occurred to me that your videos are always easy and clear to understand. I am so glad to find this video, thank you very much!
I know I am behind the times; I've been trying to work through the Book of Mormon to understand it more fully. I love the energy you two have about the scriptures! It is how I want to be about them. Thank you so so much for that way you two delivered the Allegory of the Olive Tree. I actually really understand it. I felt the Spirit so strong. I cannot thank you enough. Bless you both.
I absolutely love your podcast. I loved the back and forth talk you reveal between you two great scholars. You both have so much talent in sharing your love of the scriptures. Bringing in so many resources makes for a expanded study. I learn so much from y'all. Thank you so much for sharing this podcast with us! Your time and expertise and creativity is always so so appreciated.
Thank you so much for the visuals for Jacob 5, and all of your visuals, they help so much! I so appreciate all the work you both put in for us. I listen to the ones we are in right now for Doctrine and covenants where I am learning so much, but wanted to start again in the Book of Mormon as well, it is such a blessing for me. Thank you ❤️
I like the explanation for the farewell "adieu" and find it a little funny about people complaining about the use of that word. Does it really come from French? I don't know but the Persians use it. The Arabic form is "وَداعًا" and is pronounced "Udaa" while in Persian, it sounds the same. I am not a Persian linguist but the French also use another "Persian" word "Merci" which means the same thing in Persian and French. So, those are my only two Persian words I actually know. Where Persians (Iranians) get their French influence, I have no idea but it is quite ancient (as far as I was told by a few Iranians who joined the church).
I know how you feel. It took us a while to develop those ideas when we first started the show and that's why we wanted to redo the first 12 episodes. In a couple more episodes Jon will start verbally announcing what the reading would be daily and eventually we make it part of the scripture-matic. Chapters by timecode was a suggestion given by our sister and they start in the Mosiah 29-Alma 4 episode. That said, I will work on getting those pieces of information in the next episode video description so even if it's not yet part of the show, you can have access to it so check the description in the future. Thanks for your feedback.
“no man can know of these things” I’ve always said the same thing, “How can Sherem say that with such assurance? If Sherem can know what Jacob taught was not true, why can’t Jacob “know” they were true. Where was Sherem’s authority? Great discussion guys. Thank you.
How do you “hear Him?” - President Nelson This video is one way I hear Him. Thank you for making this video. I think you would be interested in the features in the Apple GoodNotes App. You can download the Book of Mormon as a pdf and then mark it up. Along with many other features.

Listening to you from San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Glad to have you!
In this episode you quote a seminary manual from 1989. I was in seminary in 1989! Not so old!! 😂
Well done, I enjoyed your video!
Not to be critical but I do miss the time codes for each chapter and I hope the daily readings from the scripturematic 6000 will happen soon.

What does it mean that Sheram was "nourished for the space of many days" prior to his "enlightenment"
