The intent is similar, although the X9S is narrower overall so I feel it does require a bit firmer conditions to really maximize the performance. Crazy to say about the Progressor at 70 mm underfoot that it's the wider of two skis.
The Atomic is a bit harsher of a ride--the Stockli, even with the performance, is still a very smooth performer--that's what you're mainly getting with that brand. The performance is very similar as both are extremely high-performance options, the Stockli simply does it quieter.
I'm still on my old Atomic Race GS12 175cm but always feel like I don't do the 18.5m radius justice, albeit loving it's sturdiness. This sounds like a very good upgrade, however I'm struggeling if it should be 175cm vs 167cm. I'm 1.79 tall. What would you recommend?
What size of Atomic X9s would you recommend for an expert level skier 190 cm and 95 kg? I ski very aggressively my Atomic S9 172cm , Hero master R22 and use 110 wide K2 freeride skis for powder. I am thinking 183 cm for medium full carving turns is a good choice here.
Also a question - length: 167 gives 14.2 R but has 65.5 under the foot! The S9 has 68 under the foot but gives 12.5 R in 165 cm. So my question is, how does it play, because the s9 has a shorter Radius but the x9 has 65.5 under the foot...
On anything other than firm snow, it's tough to wrangle. When you're on smoother and harder snow, you can open it up a bit better than the S9, but you're basically getting the same energy. I'd say the radius makes more of a difference versus the width. 2.5 mm vs. 1.7 m.
@@SkiEssentials the x9 can open it up because the GS in it. But the s9 has a better angle cut on short turns, more playful, faster transition etc...? (Because it's short radius)
According to my experience, X9S are way faster in turn to turn than S9. That's why I decided to get them last year. Another difference is that with S9 you almost cannot slide sideways (they are wide under the foot), while with XS9 you can. S9 felt slower to get into the turn but keep it like on rails. X9S faster but do not have the grip of S9.
@@jroujinsky I had exactly the same problem with the S9, I could not slide sideways at all. Big issue for a ski that I would like to use all day and on all kinds of hill inclines. The x9s is much easier to handle. It gave me the S9 feeling without the drawbacks
Not great. The stiffness keeps them from being as compliant as we'd like for softer snow. For bumps, they're fine in terms of quickness and grip, but again, they're stiff, so you have to be comfortable with bending a race-like ski in order to access pure bump performance.
The comment got asked already, but i really would need advice. I am running a X9 since almost 5 years now and i quite like it it might have a radius which is slightly bigger then what i would consider as perfect. I am now looking to get new ones and want to decide between the new X9s and the Laser WRT PRO. But as the new atomics are new i cant really find reviews and nobody is comparing them to the wrt. I would really appreciate to get advice which one to get.
I think the simple answer is that you simply cannot go wrong with the WRT Pro. That ski is amazing. It does everything that a race-oriented ski like the Atomic can do, but it does it quieter and more smoothly.

Ottime opinioni, grazie per la condivisione!
How would you compare this to the old Fischer RC4 PROGRESSOR - sounds like same intent...? Thanks for all the great reviews !

I'd go with the 175 here, especially to take advantage of the sturdiness.
How does it compare to last year's atomic x9s .Was it a better overall ski?
I can't find any difference other than the graphic.

I agree that 183 is the place to be on the X9S.
Please tell me ,who is better x9s or head e race pro?
There's really no "better" at this level--both skis are top of the game.

How do they perform in moguls / chopped, heavy snow?

This model doesn't have ultra TI as it's 2022 model (green), which means it's "lighter"... How much of a difference does it make?
On the top end, probably not a whole lot of difference. In the mid-range, it likely makes the ski more accessible to non racers.
@@SkiEssentials so which one should I buy, I didn't understand fully :) the s9 vs x9? I'm a very good aggressive skier...
@@SkiEssentials another question, does the ultra TI give more grip on ice?
The S9 feels more like a race specific ski. Unless you want to make a thousand turns while not in gates, I'd go with the X9s.@@Nitaisouljourney
