Hey Skiers! I added this to the description, but I think most people missed it. We fully understand those who wanted to see Volkl, Fischer, Elan, more Rossi, etc. I'm sure it can sometimes seem like we have access to every ski in the world, but it's often harder than you might think getting every ski we want for these videos. We're ultimately limited to what's physically in our warehouse and what we can get quickly and easily from reps, brands, etc. Apologies we didn't have everything you're looking for in this video, but we always try to do our best and cover as many skis as we possibly can! Bob and I were both shocked when we realized we didn't actually have any sub 76 mm 2025 Volkl skis in the building, so we're right there with you for those who wished to have seen Volkl. Are you planning to do a tour ski comparison for 2025 I don't think you did one for 2024, is it a category that didn't get much traction or was it hard to get the skis?
@@rickjowle9069 Actually not a whole lot has changed in two years. The hybrid category has not done well and the touring specific skis are all very light and efficient--there's not a whole lot of variance here. There's a few new things that we carry--Atomic Backland series, for instance, is a good one that holds up.
Lots of carvy options for sure! It's tough to get the FIS stuff either on snow or in the studio. Additionally, at that point, you better know what you're getting into! They are so singular in purpose and application.

Despite meeting FIS requirements, there must be a difference between a Fischer and a Nordica and Atomic, and so on. Unless mistaken, about 5000 ski racer families (U12-18) in the Northeast (PA to Maine) could enjoy such a review, food for thought!.... You guys do a fantastic job
I began skiing in 2020. In the third season I joined a local club and participating in local tournaments. Last winter I also participated in national tournament on Atomic S9 (165) and Atomic G9 RS. For this season I’ve bought the S9 Fis (155). I couldn’t get the S9 165 to bite on steep icy slalom slopes, which was very frustrating, since I could see others could. I know a lot is also my lack of ability and technique, but I hope that S9 Fis will help together with a lot of training.
So happy this came out. I've been needing something for the front side to complement my Stormrider 88s's. I definitely want to see a Jeff in the moguls with these skis video.
@@tonyg3091 not really interested in watching anybody else Ski these skis in the bumps besides Jeff. Heck, a long time ago we used to ski the bumps on our 207 GS skis. It wasn't any big deal back then when you were young and fit.
Thanks for the great comparison! I've been thinking about adding a pair of narrow frontside skis to my quiver as a tool to improve my carving. I've never owned anything narrower than 88 and been enjoying my Stormrider 88 on groomer days. How much of a difference do you think adding something 68-78 would make for progressing my skills? Self-identified advanced skier, on the more aggressive side, mainly skiing CO and UT. Thanks!
@@SkiEssentials Thanks! As an aside ... I don't know if I ought to treat them as such, but the videos make a huge difference to how I extrapolate how a ski might feel. For example, the skier just looked that much more confident laying it over on the Multigara than the X9. I genuinely wonder whether that was the case?
So is there a substantial difference between Elite MT and Forza 60? I have a choice between these two and do not know which one to choose. 174cm 78 kg intermediate wanting to improve carving either Elite MT @169 or Forza 60 @ 163. Which one would you recommend? Thanks
Got to demo one that might be on that wall next year, the Salomon Addikt pro at 66 mm underfoot. It was a dam fun ski! Quite easy to ski with really quick bite at the beginning of the turn at whatever the incoming speed. It could make various shape of turns and the tail made it even easier I think. I got my best carv score of the season on those. Hopefully you manage to get some on your side! I think there was a distribution issue in the US because of the name.
Would Kastle MX 74 be good to make hard ice days more enjoyable? My M6 Mantras don’t cut it on ice and slide slipping down runs gets old quick. I go about 240
I rented the Rosi Hero Elite MT last year and really enjoyed it. My usual ski is a 90mm twin tip with a very soft flex, but I actually enjoyed using the Hero MT more than those skis off piste in chopped up and heavier powder. The Hero Elite MT didn't float, but it did a great job of cutting through the crud and not getting knocked around. My only complaint with the Hero Elite MT was that it was a bit of a pain in moguls and trees. Any suggestions for skis to check out that are similar to the Hero Elite MT, but are a bit easier to use/more fun in the bumps and trees? I'm 5'10" and 140 lbs. thanks!
Owning an Atomic redster X9S, everything you say is spot-on. It's amazing to get edge engagement and powerfull carving turns. The piste needs to be hard-packed or the ski is almost useless. And unforgiving, it will end each turn with a big rebound shooting you across the hill. This is great when you are in balance but if you lose concentration and balance at the wrong time, it will still go ahead and shoot you off. Good challenge though! But probably wouldn't buy it as my only ski. In terms of speed, it's very fast in the turns but when straight-lining, I can't follow my friend who is on a redster G9. disclaimer, I'm not a former racer or anything, just a carving enthousiast.
Exactly! The rebound at the end of the turn is my favorite thing about the x9s. I am eyeing the Q9/Q9.8 to replace them though, too often X9s are just too narrow to have fun. The front just digging in and practically stopping in place when the snow is too soft sometimes even feels painfull. I have to test drive the Q9 to see of they have at least a little bit of the rebound, I know I would miss it
@@Qrzychu92 I'm I tried the Q9.8 two years ago. It might be me because I wasn't really a good carver back then, but I didn't like the rebound and edge hold on that ski. Not worth the price imo. This was even before I ever tried the X9S. I'm now looking at the atomic Maverick 88 ti or the black crows Octo as an option for softer snow. But I doubt we can find any wider ski that comes close to the X9S in terms of rebound...
Great review - would LOVE, love, love to see Emily partner with Robbie to head up a couple of FIS ski reviews (SL and GS) in the depth and richness that you do with such aplomb for the rest of the market. Smaller market for sure, but for those of that live in that world, you’d earn our loyal patronage.
Thanks! The main issue with tapping someone like Robby for something like this is that he's a Stockli athlete and employee. On one hand, he'll give an incredible account of what it's like to ski on and race an FIS ski from that company, but on the other, there probably won't be too much of a counterpoint or balance.
Once upon a time i used to be a twin/all mountain only skier trying to look and ski like the mountain OG. One day my fairy skimother left me some golden (well more of an off red) Fischer Curvs. I was as repulsed as a princess being asked to kiss the frog. I did n't want to but wow i'm glad i did. Everyone should have a pair of narrow frontside skis for those hardpack sunny days when it has n't snowed for a while and the off piste is just off.
The E-Race Pro is the most race-like of the three while the Atomic is more of a high-end recreational carver. Haven't been on the Fischer, but it appears to be more like the Atomic than the Head.
i tried the wrt when they been released (to be fair I clearly noticed the lack of rigidity, I'm used to ski with the head fis sl 168 and they are way a head in stab and power but I will be really curious to test the pro version of the wrt)
To my surprise, you have not showcased a Vandeer frontside ski yet. Personally I think a lot of skier would have a better time and carving feel if the would purchase a ski that works better on the terrain they ski 80% of their time, I hVe noticed a lot of people choosing powder performance skis but never ski outside of groomed runs.
a little more definition on these skis would have been more helpful i think......their strengths and most important their weaknesses. its not always the best scenario to be too polite especially when reviewing something.....construction, flex, size is all good info, but one can read the specs on any web search.....a real review is expressing plus and minuses of each product and how they ski on their category....i feel..
One missing ski, because I don’t think it’s available in the US any more, but luckily I got one, is the Fischer RC4 CT. Unbeatable carver! I do also enjoy my FIS slalom (Blizzard) and FIS GS (Dynastar) As well as my Rossi Hero Elite plus TI and Head e-rally but the Fischer is my favorite!

Hello Jeff and Bob - another great video, you guys are a credit to the industry! Question for you...I'm a 50 year old dude who grew up on a pair of K2 Merlin IVs at 65 underfoot. Loved that ski as a directional carver on East Coast Pennsylvania slopes. I'm interested in getting that feeling back with one of the skis you reviewed here, but I'm wondering how these modern narrow offering handle sloppy conditions? I hit the deck more than once with the Merlins in my time at high speeds when encountering slop. Do these modern narrow skis handle variable frontside conditions better or is it still a risky proposition?
Even if you go to the slightly wider side of this wall you're getting a lot more compliance for when adversity is met on the snow. I think the Rossignol Hero MT or the Nordica Spitfire 74 do a fantastic job at navigating both on-trail carving and some mild versatility all while keeping a steady hand throughout. Certainly the wider you go the more balance and flotation you'll have but it's up to you how much you want to or need to tip the scale.
The Q is the stronger and heftier of the two while the X is lighter and narrower. I think most skiers who are looking for stability and power will lean to the Q while the X7 is lighter and quicker from edge to edge for more moderate skiers.
Unfortunately for Volkl frontside fans, we did not order skis narrower than 76 for this season. Focusing on Peregrine 80 and 82 for sure. But yes, the Racetiger GS and SL would have fit in fantastic here next to G9 and S9.
The Stöckli WRT Pro are amazing skis (as are the WRT). I used them the whole last season on the Italian and Swiss Alps. Loved them so much that this year i just bought the WRT Pro Odermatt Edition (same ski with different design). You must conduct them (and not be conducted by them) with good technique and strength: if you do it they are pure FUN.
@@SkiEssentialsany binding recommendations for the WRT Pro? I’m a Pivot fanboy but recognise standover height is a factor when you’re cranking those carves in tight 😂
@@DarkHarlequin-xm3os they come with a few pre-determined choices--I don't think you can just get the flat ski. We pair them with WRT 12 bindings and they work fine, but you can get a legit race binding and plate as well, you just have to search for that specific package.
Thanks for sharing! Got interest in head shape e-v8, but you mentioned it will enlarge your wrong ski skills. Do you think it’s a good thing for beginner-intermediate level? Or better to choose one with wider tolerance range for mistakes and wrong ski skill?
It's a very helpful ski when you're learning to carve, but if you're not quite at the carving phase yet, there may be some easier skis as these are pretty stiff and have a shorter arc. The Atomic X7 comes to mind as a good option on this list.

Great video @SkiEssentials! I'm doubting between Atomic X7 and Q7 also which length to pick. I'm 182cm(6ft) and 84kg. Skied on mostly narrow skis up until now, 70 and below. 164-167 in length. Which length would you suggest for me, 168 or 176 for Q7?
I like having a bit of extra surface area underfoot mainly for balance. The Q7 is still a very grippy ski for firm groomers, and I like the overall feel of the ski more than the lighter X7. I'd go 176 in the Q7.
I had the last years Montero Ar, I am now looking to get something 100% on-piste, most important, I have a pretty bad knee, I think something SL oriented with stability in mind, more than fast long turns, I need them to 'slow' me down...any recomendations?
The Rossignol feels a bit more substantial, and I also think it's more versatile. For learning to carve, with some room for error, I'd think the Forza 60 is a better choice here.
The style and application and performance are all quite similar. I do think the Head feels and behaves like a real race ski while the Atomic is a very high end expert frontside ski.
the supershape e-original is the second ski reviewed here. the e-speed and the e-magnum are missing but they could also have been reviewed in this category as a larger waist and wider turn options.
As mentioned, the Original is more of the slalom ski in the SS lineup while the Speed (also mentioned) is the GS style with a very narrow waist as well.
You guys reviews are always so good so i really wanted to ask you guys for a ski reccomandtion. I ski on piste and know that you dont need a twin tip (these are small rise at the back). But i want to ski switch and have a bit more fun than only carving. Some details about me. Ski niveau: can ski everywere confidently blacks are just charging down top speed 100 that i got on a black. can carve well. What do you ski: On piste only Where: Austria Solden skis that i have now: Rossignol hero elite multi turn Weight; 82 Kilo/180 pounds Length 196cm/6,4 I saw the armada declivity 82TI as a option but i really want to hear the opinion of you guys. i want a ski with small rise at the back that can carve really well and isnt that wide in the waist
The Declivity is great--feels like a front side ski but has all-mountain versatility. Blizzard Anomaly 84 and Rossignol Arcade 84 should also be on this list.
Alright guys, I’ve narrowed my search down to the following: Thunderbird r15/r13 (in my 165cm length the skis are basically identical in turn radius) and the head e-rally in a 163cm. Which you picking as your on piste carver?
I really like the Thunderbirds a whole lot and find them to be more engaging and versatile. The Rally is very smooth and strong, but I have a harder time getting it up on edge and finding the radius vs. the Thunderbird. Also personally, I prefer the wider platform of the R15 over the narrower waist of the 13, but that's just me.
@@SkiEssentials in the 165cm length the r13 and r15 actually have almost identical dimensions. The 13 actually being wider underfoot and on the tail. R15 (non wb) is 121/69/102 R13 is 121/70/105 I’ll probably pick up whichever I find the best deal!

I have to point out that you guys missed an opportunity to break the most skis on the wall record which I believe you just set at 27. Looks like you could have gotten 6 more skis in the middle here for an even 28! Your induction into the Guinness Book of Ski Review Records awaits gentlemen! Maybe some day you can get a wide angle lens, go outside and review every single ski on the market all in one video. You can get all your work done in one shot, drink some Red Bulls, get them to sponsor you and retire early to Bretton Woods. If anyone can do that it's you guys!
We hit a wall with our number of skis available, unfortunately! Without including rental/package level skis or the one set of Faction Le Mogul skis, these are the 22 narrowest skis in our warehouse. We did have to break our 100 mm comparison into two parts, with almost 40 skis in that range. While I'm not sure that Guinness keeps track of ski reviews, it's probably at least worth a call. I really enjoy the Nordica Spitfire 74 in the 180. It's very smooth, capable, and confident. I prefer the wider skis on this wall from a balance and versatility perspective.
Looking between the rossi hero elite st or mt. Is it fair to say the st is a bit more powerful/snappy due to its construction and the mt is more versatile due to its width?
Would your recommend this narrow for a beginner-intermediate who only skis about 7 days a season. I am looking to buy my first pair. I can ski most of the mountain, just can't do super steep double blacks.. and crazy moguls or bowls.
Opposing some comments, I dont think FIS skis need to be included. Mere mortals will never tell the difference and those who can, either have a contract with a brand or are perfectly aware what ski to take. You need to be on a world cup level where tenths of a second matters in order to make a difference between them.
Appreciate the counterpoint here, and mainly agree. I do think it's nice to show the top end of the top end (we simply do not have the skis to show) and if those skiers still want to go that route, then so be it. Personally, I think there's a lot of fun to be had on the next step down as the comfort level increases while keeping a very high ceiling.
I don't think the 68mm waist on the Head Rebels E-Race SL Pro breaks the FIS rules. The FIS rules for slalom specify the minimum waist (63mm), not the maximum. Rossi/Dynastar FIS SL have a 67mm waist.
65 is pretty specific and narrow. You should either have a race background or race aspirations in this width. The 75 offers more of a balanced platform for skiers who aren't totally focused on pure carving but want some versatility built in.
@ Thanks. Using a Head Core 94 today, but could be looking a little more groomer oriented ski, but wanting to be able to go outside the groomers if the snow is new and fresh. Kind of like the stability at speed, lightness and energy in the head core. Any suggestions for width/ model / brand?
Everything on this wall comes with a pre-determined binding, even the Lasers which look flat on the wall come with a SRT binding and a demo plate, we just didn't mount them for the video. If you have a flat ski and are looking for a narrow binding, the race bindings like Marker Comp 12 or Tyrolia Protector PR will come with a narrower brake and they have a narrower width overall.
While these skis would certainly and easily have fit in great along this wall, even finding the high-end of the performance ceiling, we did not bring in the Dynastar race skis for this year and are thus unable to show.
@@SkiEssentials I had a go at a ski test on the addikt pro, it's a really special ski, was very tempted to pick them up but couldn't justify another front side ski 😂
While we have featured many wider Elan skis starting at the 82 CTi and going all the way to Playmaker 111, we do not carry the narrower or race versions from the brand and are unfortunately unable to showcase their more race-oriented products.
Unfortunately, we did not bring in any of those models this year, so were unable to showcase their front side prowess and expertise in this comparison.
We certainly wish we had Volkls to showcase in this comparison, but we did not bring in any Racetigers or Peregrine 72's this year. They would have fit in great among this wall. We do, however, stock many Volkl race skis for our junior race lease program, and they work awesome in conjunction with our local race teams.

if you search a bit you will find Deb Armstrong and Tom Gelie on 65 mm Fischers in moguls. It is beautiful

I'd check out the Stockli Laser SC at 72, or if you want to go wider, the Montero AX at 80 mm.

Hey what is the difference between:
1. Head e race pro
2. Aromic x9s
3. Fischer Rc4 ct
The E-Race Pro is the most race-like of the three while the Atomic is more of a high-end recreational carver. Haven't been on the Fischer, but it appears to be more like the Atomic than the Head.
i tried the wrt when they been released (to be fair I clearly noticed the lack of rigidity, I'm used to ski with the head fis sl 168 and they are way a head in stab and power but I will be really curious to test the pro version of the wrt)
To my surprise, you have not showcased a Vandeer frontside ski yet. Personally I think a lot of skier would have a better time and carving feel if the would purchase a ski that works better on the terrain they ski 80% of their time, I hVe noticed a lot of people choosing powder performance skis but never ski outside of groomed runs.
a little more definition on these skis would have been more helpful i think......their strengths and most important their weaknesses. its not always the best scenario to be too polite especially when reviewing something.....construction, flex, size is all good info, but one can read the specs on any web search.....a real review is expressing plus and minuses of each product and how they ski on their category....i feel..
One missing ski, because I don’t think it’s available in the US any more, but luckily I got one, is the Fischer RC4 CT. Unbeatable carver! I do also enjoy my FIS slalom (Blizzard) and FIS GS (Dynastar) As well as my Rossi Hero Elite plus TI and Head e-rally but the Fischer is my favorite!
That Fischer is indeed a fantastic ski, very popular with instructors in Europe.

Unfortunately, we were unable to source the Rossi Master or the Racetiger Master for this comparison. And the Dynastar.

Hello Jeff and Bob - another great video, you guys are a credit to the industry! Question for you...I'm a 50 year old dude who grew up on a pair of K2 Merlin IVs at 65 underfoot. Loved that ski as a directional carver on East Coast Pennsylvania slopes. I'm interested in getting that feeling back with one of the skis you reviewed here, but I'm wondering how these modern narrow offering handle sloppy conditions? I hit the deck more than once with the Merlins in my time at high speeds when encountering slop. Do these modern narrow skis handle variable frontside conditions better or is it still a risky proposition?
Even if you go to the slightly wider side of this wall you're getting a lot more compliance for when adversity is met on the snow. I think the Rossignol Hero MT or the Nordica Spitfire 74 do a fantastic job at navigating both on-trail carving and some mild versatility all while keeping a steady hand throughout. Certainly the wider you go the more balance and flotation you'll have but it's up to you how much you want to or need to tip the scale.
A bit bummed not a single Fischer ski made it to either of the frontside categories :(

The Q is the stronger and heftier of the two while the X is lighter and narrower. I think most skiers who are looking for stability and power will lean to the Q while the X7 is lighter and quicker from edge to edge for more moderate skiers.
What is the best bang for your buck narrow ski, if you only look on pure carving performance
I think the Rossignol Forza 60 or 70 will work great for this blend.

the Volkl Racetiger SL is really missing here. I would put it just right after the Supershape e-original on the wall.
Unfortunately for Volkl frontside fans, we did not order skis narrower than 76 for this season. Focusing on Peregrine 80 and 82 for sure. But yes, the Racetiger GS and SL would have fit in fantastic here next to G9 and S9.
The Stöckli WRT Pro are amazing skis (as are the WRT). I used them the whole last season on the Italian and Swiss Alps. Loved them so much that this year i just bought the WRT Pro Odermatt Edition (same ski with different design).
You must conduct them (and not be conducted by them) with good technique and strength: if you do it they are pure FUN.
The Odermatt looks sick.

@@DarkHarlequin-xm3os they come with a few pre-determined choices--I don't think you can just get the flat ski. We pair them with WRT 12 bindings and they work fine, but you can get a legit race binding and plate as well, you just have to search for that specific package.

Got interest in head shape e-v8, but you mentioned it will enlarge your wrong ski skills. Do you think it’s a good thing for beginner-intermediate level? Or better to choose one with wider tolerance range for mistakes and wrong ski skill?
It's a very helpful ski when you're learning to carve, but if you're not quite at the carving phase yet, there may be some easier skis as these are pretty stiff and have a shorter arc. The Atomic X7 comes to mind as a good option on this list.

Great video @SkiEssentials! I'm doubting between Atomic X7 and Q7 also which length to pick. I'm 182cm(6ft) and 84kg. Skied on mostly narrow skis up until now, 70 and below. 164-167 in length. Which length would you suggest for me, 168 or 176 for Q7?
I like having a bit of extra surface area underfoot mainly for balance. The Q7 is still a very grippy ski for firm groomers, and I like the overall feel of the ski more than the lighter X7. I'd go 176 in the Q7.
I had the last years Montero Ar, I am now looking to get something 100% on-piste, most important, I have a pretty bad knee, I think something SL oriented with stability in mind, more than fast long turns, I need them to 'slow' me down...any recomendations?
If you like the feel of the Stockli, check out the Laser SC. More SL oriented and stable, but easier to manage than the AR.
Volkl WC FIS 165. Lots of fun. Once you are 65 under foot why not upgrade to the WC race ski?
I suppose preference of flex and weight would factor in to a decision keeping the WC at arm's length.

I have a choice between Atomic Redster Q7 and Rossignol Forza D60. Any advice on that? Skiing Austrian groomers, starting to learn carving...
The Rossignol feels a bit more substantial, and I also think it's more versatile. For learning to carve, with some room for error, I'd think the Forza 60 is a better choice here.
how would the atomic x9s compare to the head e-race pro (not e-sl pro)
The style and application and performance are all quite similar. I do think the Head feels and behaves like a real race ski while the Atomic is a very high end expert frontside ski.
No Head super shape, you consider the super shape has more all mountain then just frontside?
the supershape e-original is the second ski reviewed here. the e-speed and the e-magnum are missing but they could also have been reviewed in this category as a larger waist and wider turn options.
Second ski is a super shape... most of the other supershape models are over 75mm in width

As mentioned, the Original is more of the slalom ski in the SS lineup while the Speed (also mentioned) is the GS style with a very narrow waist as well.
Which of these in this width would you say is best for moguls? Perhaps with the best tail release?
Probably the Stockli SC. Certainly the best shovel for the bumps, and likely the best tail release from a predictability and management standpoint.
When performance doesn't match a price increase it is known as the law of diminishing returns...just an FYI

The Declivity is great--feels like a front side ski but has all-mountain versatility. Blizzard Anomaly 84 and Rossignol Arcade 84 should also be on this list.

Alright guys, I’ve narrowed my search down to the following: Thunderbird r15/r13 (in my 165cm length the skis are basically identical in turn radius) and the head e-rally in a 163cm. Which you picking as your on piste carver?
The Thunderbird's are turny-er. The Rally's want a bit more speed.
I really like the Thunderbirds a whole lot and find them to be more engaging and versatile. The Rally is very smooth and strong, but I have a harder time getting it up on edge and finding the radius vs. the Thunderbird. Also personally, I prefer the wider platform of the R15 over the narrower waist of the 13, but that's just me.
@@SkiEssentials in the 165cm length the r13 and r15 actually have almost identical dimensions. The 13 actually being wider underfoot and on the tail.

This is indeed an impressive stockpile of skis. If only a ski rental shop could offer such a choice in only one room. crazy.
We hit a wall with our number of skis available, unfortunately! Without including rental/package level skis or the one set of Faction Le Mogul skis, these are the 22 narrowest skis in our warehouse. We did have to break our 100 mm comparison into two parts, with almost 40 skis in that range. While I'm not sure that Guinness keeps track of ski reviews, it's probably at least worth a call. I really enjoy the Nordica Spitfire 74 in the 180. It's very smooth, capable, and confident. I prefer the wider skis on this wall from a balance and versatility perspective.

Looking between the rossi hero elite st or mt. Is it fair to say the st is a bit more powerful/snappy due to its construction and the mt is more versatile due to its width?
Fair and accurate. You do kind of have to really like short turns to end up with the ST over the MT.
Would your recommend this narrow for a beginner-intermediate who only skis about 7 days a season. I am looking to buy my first pair. I can ski most of the mountain, just can't do super steep double blacks.. and crazy moguls or bowls.
I'd keep it wide and light in this span of skis. The Head Shape V8 and the Atomic Redster Q7 would be good choices.
Opposing some comments, I dont think FIS skis need to be included. Mere mortals will never tell the difference and those who can, either have a contract with a brand or are perfectly aware what ski to take. You need to be on a world cup level where tenths of a second matters in order to make a difference between them.
Appreciate the counterpoint here, and mainly agree. I do think it's nice to show the top end of the top end (we simply do not have the skis to show) and if those skiers still want to go that route, then so be it. Personally, I think there's a lot of fun to be had on the next step down as the comfort level increases while keeping a very high ceiling.
I don't think the 68mm waist on the Head Rebels E-Race SL Pro breaks the FIS rules. The FIS rules for slalom specify the minimum waist (63mm), not the maximum. Rossi/Dynastar FIS SL have a 67mm waist.

Who would be candidate for 65mm - and who would candidate for 75mm?
65 is pretty specific and narrow. You should either have a race background or race aspirations in this width. The 75 offers more of a balanced platform for skiers who aren't totally focused on pure carving but want some versatility built in.
@ Thanks. Using a Head Core 94 today, but could be looking a little more groomer oriented ski, but wanting to be able to go outside the groomers if the snow is new and fresh. Kind of like the stability at speed, lightness and energy in the head core. Any suggestions for width/ model / brand?
Recommended narrow bindings?
Everything on this wall comes with a pre-determined binding, even the Lasers which look flat on the wall come with a SRT binding and a demo plate, we just didn't mount them for the video. If you have a flat ski and are looking for a narrow binding, the race bindings like Marker Comp 12 or Tyrolia Protector PR will come with a narrower brake and they have a narrower width overall.
Why not Dynastar Speed Omeglass Master SL R22 and Dynastar Speed Course Master GS R22??
Just go for the Rossi/Dynastar FIS SL ski, it is fabulous and you will love them, promise
While these skis would certainly and easily have fit in great along this wall, even finding the high-end of the performance ceiling, we did not bring in the Dynastar race skis for this year and are thus unable to show.

We would LOVE to ski the Addikt skis. They are unfortunately unavailable in North America.

While we have featured many wider Elan skis starting at the 82 CTi and going all the way to Playmaker 111, we do not carry the narrower or race versions from the brand and are unfortunately unable to showcase their more race-oriented products.

We certainly wish we had Volkls to showcase in this comparison, but we did not bring in any Racetigers or Peregrine 72's this year. They would have fit in great among this wall. We do, however, stock many Volkl race skis for our junior race lease program, and they work awesome in conjunction with our local race teams.
