I'd say she sounds better than most French people. Native French speakers can sound terribly nasal, and there's no space between words or sentences. It's terribly frustrating, because I can speak and read French, just not with natives :/
Her accent is so good you could almost pinpoint it on a map. Though if you listen to her longer interviews in French she'll occasionally make small grammar mistakes that a native speaker wouldn't like messing up the gender of a noun or the conjugation in a very common tense. That's probably due to lack of practice but that's the only thing that gives her away, the accent is, once again, perfect.
Her accent is almost perfect (it still slips in a tiny bit at times, noticeable only because I know English is her mother tongue); but what gives her away is that she still makes gender confusions at times, like here when she said "une problème avec mon genou" instead of "un probème..." But i'm still amazed at her accent - so hard for English speakers to get right- even after all these years. She really got it right.
@@19Edurne people make mistakes in their native language as well, so small mistakes are fine. An example here is she probably meant she was doing 'well' rather than 'good'. Wonderful Jodie. She is my contemporary and I watched her grow up on film alongside my own growing up. I have always been impressed by her fierce intelligence and integrity and boy is she a marvelous actress.
Wow, she does sound fluent in french. I cant count how many times someone speaks "in french" in an american movie / tv show where they are just repeating the text they memorized and the pronunciation is so off that you cant tell what they are trying to say.
Going to a French school as a kid, living in France, etc helps a lot. I've been speaking English since about age 4-5 but I haven't visited any English-speaking country yet and because I learnt the language by myself, I still make some mistakes, especially with pronunciation. Though it's mostly place names that I have trouble with. There are other things that I still haven't mastered. My vocabulary in general, including my native language, is not as extensive as it could be, and I still have problems with "in/on" and "a/an" confusion - that is difficult for foreigners. I use the language daily, but I type more than I speak (that's how I learnt English in the first place, via the Internet). Immersion is wonderful for fluency, but sadly I ain't got that opportunity.
Jodie foster 's got the most fluent French langage a French person as ever heard. She's basiquely bi-languale. It's amazing how she nails it, she sounds perfectly french. So much that she can play french movie characters. (a very long engagement) Nearly no accent , perfect flow, she even smashes and reduces words as we do naturaly ( g'noux, instead of genoux as instance) Amazing. In some other interviews she even use the word "quoi" at the end of a sentence, which means nothing, but adds emphasys to it. Says ouais (yeah) instead of oui (yes), kind of things only native French do.
Everyone has an accent. There's no such thing as having no accent. Some accents may be more socially, or politically acceptable, but every single person has an accent.
I wish i could communicate to Jodie Foster how much her own struggles have mirrored my own and how much she's been an inspiration. It's honestly depressing to think she'll never know how much she meant to me and many others. But I get it, she can't be responsible for everyone.
Saw The Incredibles in LA with a friend...two women and some kids sat in front of us and he leans over and goes "You know who that is?" and I said no, and he goes "Jodie Foster." So I sat behind Jodie Foster in the Incredibles. Totally expect this to be included in all her biographies
It wouldn't be in her biographies because that was Holly Hunter who did the voice in the Incredibles. Holly Hunter's voice just sounds like Jodie's Clarice Starling voice. lol.
Vous vous attendiez a ce qu'elle ait un accent américain alors qu'elle parle comme une française (moi aussi ça m'as énormément surpris qu'elle parle aussi bien français).
she is actually good friends with mel gibson, and he had helped her in various ways in past, as btw he had done others like for example robert downey jr. they publicly stood by him when mel was prosecuted in hollywood media. that is probably why question about married to him cropped up in google.
This will certainly be the best video I've seen in a year. Jodie Foster is the greatest actor of my era. And her boy Kit is a cool and very smart dude.
How was there no Silence of the Lambs searches? Not even the Ronald Reagan assassination attempt? Wow Note: I thought there would be questions about the incident because her name is involved with it. I know she had no part in it accept for being inside some crazy man's fantasy. But, I'm surprised it wasn't brought up. Though, no excuse for silence of the lambs questions not in video.
Joseph Wolfson She probably wouldn't have answered anything about the assassination attempt. I've read that she's straight up walked out of interviews if it was brought up.
The questions were obviously selected carefully picked. Nobody with a little bit of respect for Jodie would have chosen the Hinckley question for this.
Ethan McGee that event was only once and it's not like Jodie follows that as a rule. She answers the Hinckley question in interviews respectfully if brought up but she makes it clear it's something she'd rather not talk about.
lisbeth_starling I didn't know that. I thought there were more instances of her ending interviews because of the Hinckley question. Thanks for the info.
Joseph Wolfson while no question for the silence of the lambs surprised me as well, as far as Regan and Hinckley are concerned she doesn't talk about it, in the past 37 yrs since the incident, she has only talked about it publicly twice otherwise she cancel the interviews if question about it pops up
Always loved Jodie Foster but ‘Contact’ is one of my all time favourite films - it’s just a fantastically creative story, thanks to Carl Sagan of course, but Jodie was marvellous in it ❤
No, she doesn't. She believes that Hollywood has invested too much in them, actively and adversely impacting viewer habits. It's a business opinion, not a dislike of the movies themselves.
I'm so relieved there's no John Hinckley-related searches. My heart goes out to the Reagan family and the Foster family for the grief caused by Hinckley.

*" it's an honour &a privilege to be googled"* most celebs gets annoyed during these interviews but she like she it 😘 That's the judy difference
Is Jodie Foster gorgeous or what?? She looks amazing for 56 x
She looks amazing, period. I'm 22 and oh god, I wish I looked as good and elegant as her.
Lol how old do you think 56 is...?
@@weasley2o13 Dude, I'm 44. I mean I still look good for my age, but when the allergy season kicks in?... Jodie's a step up bud...
Yeah there's a lot of interviews of her on RUclips.
She is more than fluent, when she speaks french, you can't really hear any accents beside she sound a bit parisian.
@@telemachin She even dubs herself in french ! That's seriously amazing.
@@telemachin Well anyone raised bilingually will have no accent. She even points this out, because it's a given.
I love everything about Jodie Foster. I've always been a fan.
Jodie foster 's got the most fluent French langage a French person as ever heard. She's basiquely bi-languale. It's amazing how she nails it, she sounds perfectly french. So much that she can play french movie characters. (a very long engagement)
Nearly no accent , perfect flow, she even smashes and reduces words as we do naturaly ( g'noux, instead of genoux as instance)
Amazing.
In some other interviews she even use the word "quoi" at the end of a sentence, which means nothing, but adds emphasys to it. Says ouais (yeah) instead of oui (yes), kind of things only native French do.
Elle est diplômée du lycée français de Los Angeles.
What does Jodie said in the French part? I kinda curious about it 😁
@J-P Monette yeah I know, I meant the French part, in French hihi 😁
@J-P Monette oh you speak French? But I really want to know the French part. Because obviously Jodie said the meaning in English.
she speaks better french than most french people do ! no accent, high level vocabulary and grammar, she's so perfect !
I have always admired her ! She seems like such a real person.
Everyone has an accent. There's no such thing as having no accent. Some accents may be more socially, or politically acceptable, but every single person has an accent.
oobi o'doo Try telling it to speakers of General American. Doesn't mean they aren't wrong :P
I'm Irish and I don't have an accent to be sure I don't.
I wish i could communicate to Jodie Foster how much her own struggles have mirrored my own and how much she's been an inspiration. It's honestly depressing to think she'll never know how much she meant to me and many others. But I get it, she can't be responsible for everyone.
I would love to sit down to a large, leisurely dinner one evening with Jody and her wife. Just for the conversation. Sadly...
Holly Hunter's voice just sounds like Jodie's Clarice Starling voice. lol.
No Instagram - Twitter or Facebook ........SMART JODI !
oldngood watch her secretly have a wattpad and she reads fan fiction on herself and her characters.
@@boistired6825 , lol
can y’all stop
sa voix française est cristalline, beaucoup plus fluide... en anglais, tout semble plus par "accoud", et plus nasal: c'est frappant.
Moi aussi
I've been in love with Jodie for so long and this interview just makes me love her more.
I love this woman. I've had a crush on her since I was 8.
I've always crushed on her. Here I am 50 years old and I'm still crushing on her. :)
I love that she’s like “ No, I’m married to Alexandra Hedison”... Who, I would imagine is leaps and bounds better than Mel..
Oh, so she finally came out. I didn't know that. About time.
@@jaycee330 ahh. She’s just a private person.. but who didn’t know, really?!.. but I love her as an actress, so , whatever she likes 💜🏳️🌈
@@jaycee330 technically she came out publically in 2013 at the golden globes in an absolutly amazing speech
she is actually good friends with mel gibson, and he had helped her in various ways in past, as btw he had done others like for example robert downey jr. they publicly stood by him when mel was prosecuted in hollywood media. that is probably why question about married to him cropped up in google.
@Rickie j you know not all lesbians hate men right?
She should have more than 2 Oscars. Great actress.
Just got nominated for another one!
This will certainly be the best video I've seen in a year. Jodie Foster is the greatest actor of my era. And her boy Kit is a cool and very smart dude.
Legendary Actress, Truly
Classy, funny, genius and legendary
But she doesn't vegan though
I like that they use a physical board for the questions. Physical stuff is still so much more meaningful than stuff on a computer screen.
How was there no Silence of the Lambs searches?
Not even the Ronald Reagan assassination attempt?
Wow
Note:
I thought there would be questions about the incident because her name is involved with it.
Joseph Wolfson while no question for the silence of the lambs surprised me as well, as far as Regan and Hinckley are concerned she doesn't talk about it, in the past 37 yrs since the incident, she has only talked about it publicly twice otherwise she cancel the interviews if question about it pops up
She's so down to earth! In many interviews I've seen here, some celebrities act like a douche.
Always loved Jodie Foster but ‘Contact’ is one of my all time favourite films - it’s just a fantastically creative story, thanks to Carl Sagan of course, but Jodie was marvellous in it ❤
Agreed, that was an awesome movie and she was very well cast in it.
Yes! Loved the movie Contact, and Jodie Foster was absolutely brilliant in it!
I just love her. She makes me smile every time! I want her as my aunt
I love this lady, and loved her even more after watching this video. This is the most humble interview of this kind I have watched to date.
Hello Clarice
Have the lambs stopped screaming?
Jodie foster is really intelligent and beautiful actress ❤❤❤❤❤
I love her laugh and she is very intelligent. My favorite actress ❤
She's still very beautiful!
jodie, please be a marvel villain
Sodiq Ali she dislike superhero movies
No, she doesn't. She believes that Hollywood has invested too much in them, actively and adversely impacting viewer habits. It's a business opinion, not a dislike of the movies themselves.
She hates superhero movies
SHE IS TOO GOOD FOR THAT
She’s already a villain in Elysium. It’s not superhero movies but it’s better
I'm so relieved there's no John Hinckley-related searches. My heart goes out to the Reagan family and the Foster family for the grief caused by Hinckley.
It's so sad that the young celebrities these days are nothing like her.
ok
I think Emma Watson is... both classy and intelligent, and a good actress
Actually no one is like, past or present; she's uniquely brilliant
Ohh stop it
Oh pleeease...
2:54 best response to not being on social media. I've always liked Jodie Foster.
Oh my god, she sounds like a native French speaker. Her voice completely transformed! She just said "une problème" instead of "un problème".
Jodie Foster is one celebrity that I've always liked. She just seems like a really cool down to earth person and a fantastic actress.
There’s always bad grammar questions, it’s to be expected at this point, but this one had a pretty large amount even compared to the usual
She’s still beautiful
Does Jodi Foster give a great interview...... yes she does! I enjoyed that.
