I'd say she sounds better than most French people. Native French speakers can sound terribly nasal, and there's no space between words or sentences. It's terribly frustrating, because I can speak and read French, just not with natives :/
Her accent is so good you could almost pinpoint it on a map. Though if you listen to her longer interviews in French she'll occasionally make small grammar mistakes that a native speaker wouldn't like messing up the gender of a noun or the conjugation in a very common tense. That's probably due to lack of practice but that's the only thing that gives her away, the accent is, once again, perfect.
Her accent is almost perfect (it still slips in a tiny bit at times, noticeable only because I know English is her mother tongue); but what gives her away is that she still makes gender confusions at times, like here when she said "une problème avec mon genou" instead of "un probème..." But i'm still amazed at her accent - so hard for English speakers to get right- even after all these years. She really got it right.
@@19Edurne people make mistakes in their native language as well, so small mistakes are fine. An example here is she probably meant she was doing 'well' rather than 'good'. Although it could be argued the good she was doing was giving to charity but that is unlikely to have been what she meant. @@CanthusOfCandE Yeah, even native speakers get the gender of certain words wrong sometimes but definitely not the word _problème_ which is in the top 200 most frequently used words. I don't know if you did it on purpose, if so, kudos, because her french is precisely prefect: almost perfect.
(When she said "j'ai un problème avec mon genou", the prononciation of "un" was a little off imo)
Anyway, I prefer almost perfect to perfect...
The way she pronounced the gen part of genou was also a little off, in France, we slur the g and the n and don't really include too much of the e, her pronunciation of the ou part also had a little bit of an American accent, but overall her French is spotless
She has a cameo in the French film A Very Long Engagement.
Matthieu Poirier could you please translate her French part?
She basically said " my knee hurts " knee = genou
Hello Clarice...
Clarice :)
Awesome
You know she's never met Anthony Hopkins?! They never had any scenes side by side. They were all direct face shots and were filmed separately.
Thats wrong, Bradley. They did meet at the end of shooting, after the film was edited.
I heard "Hello Clarice" line was never uttered in the movie.
It's one of more famous Mandela effect.
I love that she actually answered the questions instead of sarcastic responses other actors give!
She’s smarter than them
I love all her movies really good actress
Wow her French accent and pronunciation is perfect!
She is totally fluent.
Mira Krm
It’s not she has an American accent.
@@tomsawyer4233 She does not. I couldn't tell she is American.
Rocco siffredi
I could in other interviews.
@@tomsawyer4233 i know her for a long time, so it's not very relevant, but if i were, for example, to meet her for the first time, i couldn't tell.
Is it just me or does she still look amazing for her age? I love her voice. She’s such a great actor. I would love to meet her in person someday. I can just imagine the great conversations that we will have. Thank you Jodie for taking the time to do this video.
Jodie Foster looks like that cool aunt and that evil businesswoman at the same time.
only if you saw Inside Man lol
True lol
She sure was evil in the movie Elysium.
@@SnowWalker1
Loved her in The Brave One. Got so excited seeing bad guys get killed that I screamed YAY and annoyed others in the movie theater. Just gotta live a woman killer of scumbags !!!
@@SnowWalker1 p.s. Almist made me want to buy a gun.😒
This is what people are like when they don't do social media- you know, engaging and intelligent....
Correlation =/= causation
and yet here you are
Lol!!
Oh, now I see why there were no wars and crimes until the late 20th century…
Well said!!!
is jodie foster a genius? is that even a question! ofc!
I seem to recall that her IQ was over 140 so, yes, that does make her a genius.
She is a genius
I would say so, cos most of the time she has a good list of films under her belt.
"when I was in my mother's stomach"
@@nicolacornolti7796 A genius would know what euphemisms and colloquialisms are.
Her french is so perfect. Very parisian.
She is great but her French is not so fluent anymore, which is a bit sad. l remember a great interview with Anne Sinclair many years ago.
Love her for so long. We're about the same age and I grew seeing her films and loving her all along. Elegant, inteligent, discreet woman.
The legend herself!!!👑👑
She is very sane and level headed for a Hollywood person. Would make a good President .
She’s WAAAAAYYYY too smart to ever even think about getting into politics.
You need to be a lot lot dumb to get into politics
@@zenituragaming5043 double that
@@brickellrich1 Smart people should be forced to get into politics, and the "politicians" should be shoved pen and paper into their hands to take notes.
Wonderful Jodie. She is my contemporary and I watched her grow up on film alongside my own growing up. I have always been impressed by her fierce intelligence and integrity and boy is she a marvelous actress.
I have always admired her ! She seems like such a real person.
As a matter of fact, Cate Blanchett said the reason she took the part in “Lord of The Rings” was that she had always wanted those pointy ears.
Who doesn't want pointy ears?
I love everything about Jodie Foster. I've always been a fan.
imo
Talented, smart, and seemingly a terrific person.
I like her and always will. She was fantastic in the movie Contact.
agree
Katya Zamolodchikova would agree with you.
She's so good in front of a camera I feel she's talking just to me across a table. It's almost kinda weird ... :)
She is tremendous talented
She's been doing this for 54 yrs and also happens to be a genius
Jodie Foster talking about Cate Blanchett ❤️ one of my favorite actresses talking about one of my other favorite actress..
ikr
Oh my god! I cant control my tears..stop it already
Same to me.
I love this woman. I've had a crush on her since I was 8.
Q: What is Jodie Foster known for?
A: Making really good vinaigrette
Me: lol
Lol
Is Jodie Foster gorgeous or what?? She looks amazing for 56 x
She looks amazing, period. I'm 22 and oh god, I wish I looked as good and elegant as her.
Lol how old do you think 56 is...?
@@weasley2o13 Dude, I'm 44. I mean I still look good for my age, but when the allergy season kicks in?... Jodie's a step up bud...
She’s fantastic! Very cool that she did this. She’s incredibly talented.
OMG, How beautiful she is! When she was 20, when 40, when 50+. She has amazing eyes, not form but look
I cannot explain it but I have been obsessed by her career since I was a kid. She is a fascinating person.
Please, make one of this with Gillian Anderson!
I'd love it!!
Yes, awesome
Anderson was fantastic in American Gods. Too bad she bailed after the first season.
Yet another child actress who is going quite well as an adult!
Such a tragedy 😔 (jk, obvi)
This was sooooo good. It made my day. The most common questions on the internet and their answers were far more interesting than those she gets asked on a typical Q&A. Awesome.
she's so charming! not even on purpose. she's just refreshing. and she's like - on topic of having an instagram - ' i am thankfully old enough to not have to'
Classy, funny, genius and legendary
But she doesn't vegan though
No Instagram - Twitter or Facebook ........SMART JODI !
oldngood watch her secretly have a wattpad and she reads fan fiction on herself and her characters.
@@boistired6825 , lol
Everyone has an accent. There's no such thing as having no accent. Some accents may be more socially, or politically acceptable, but every single person has an accent.
oobi o'doo Try telling it to speakers of General American. Doesn't mean they aren't wrong :P
I'm Irish and I don't have an accent to be sure I don't.
She may say shes not a Genius but shes beautiful down to earth and absolutely brilliant soul.
She attended Yale, very intelligent, but humble.
