Thanks for pointing out the Hardcore Punk side of Pantera, not a lot of people seem to acknowledge the Hardcore influence in Pantera despite Phil being from that scene.

I think of "domination" as thrash in the chorus and fast groove metal in the verses because of the sparse riffs

Technically Groove is a sub-genre of Thrash, aka Post-Thrash, similar to how Nickleback is considered Post-Grunge. This is why so many Thrash fans gravitated to Pantera and vice versa

I agree with the genres pointed out, yet I don't agree with all of the examples. The clip from Great Southern Trendkill (not sure which song) is far beyond their Thrash Metal days in my opinion. But to be fair, that's not totally objective.
