Thanks for the order Tim, it's going out today. One difference with the Challenger 5 wire kit is the CAN bus module will be different. Other than that, everything else is the same. I have created an extra set of step-by-step instructions that will be included.
@@Ilihiafarris You got this. 1) Make sure the CAN bus module has a good ground connection using the isolator's spare black ground wire. 2) Before you go to the trouble of adding the plug, check the isolator outputs with a test light to make sure you're getting all 4 light functions.. 3) Look at the table that shows you which signal function you get on which wire. You will typically need to cross colors to get the desired signal function to the right plug pin for the trailer.
@@Openroadoutfitters Is there an adapter I can plug into the end to convert it to the regular 5 pin connection, or do I have to cut that end connector off and make my own connection?
Great video. Thank you for sharing. I'm not sure where I'm gonna put my wires from the last section to the trailer. Will they mount under the fender some how or will the tire rub them?
I had leather saddlebags so I was able to easily tuck the harness into a bag. If you happen to have a trunk, you could coil up the harness, tuck it under the trunk and use a velcro cable tie to hold it in place.
@Open Road Outfitters The video you made made it extremely was. I just have to route the power to my battery, which is located in the front of my bike at the bottom. Thanks again.
You would typically install this isolating harness in front of any other module. That's because the other light-modifying modules use pulse width modulation to control the lights, which is kind of like turning a switch on and off hundreds of times per second. An isolator is made up of small mechanical relays and the rapid on/off cycling created by PWM generates excess heat and rapid wear, causing them to fail prematurely.
Even though the Challenger sand Pursuits are similar, they are different product lines and the Pursuit is wired differently. I have a 4 wire solution for both bikes. I have a 5 wire kit that I know works on the Challenger, but it has not yet been tested on a Pursuit.
I might have skipped that step in the video -- I've done it so many times it becomes automatic after a while. When you decide where you want to locate the isolator you can then measure out the length of the power leads going to the battery then cut them to length. When you size up the red lead going to battery positive, you can cut it shorter because you'll be adding the inline fuse on that side. The inline fuse is included with the kit. When you get it, the fuse wire is looped through the fuse holder so you just cut it in half to make it installable.
Clipping the top of the power ring is a great tip! Thanks.
Just ordered the 5 wire harness kit for my 2021 Challenger Limited. You made it look so easy. I feel I can do this.

Received my 5 pin kit today. Will try to install it tomorrow (Wednesday) after work on my 21 challenger limited. With me luck.

Hooked mine up today......couldn't have been easier! Thanks Dale
Thanks, hope the video was useful. It can look intimidating if someone isn't accustomed to electrical stuff, but it really is pretty simple.

I have a Custom dynamic magic strobe brake light flasher. Will the trailer lights now flash if this is installed after the CD module?

Will this kit work on the Challenger/Pursuit platform?

Very useful. Thanks
When or how did you do fuse?

@@Openroadoutfitters awesome! Thanks so much!
Where do I get the plug and play?
The link to it is in the video description, but here it is also. openroadoutfitters.com/indian-5-wire-trailer-harness/
