Hi I'm interested in joining in on it my 2018 Malibu is doing the exact same thing and giving me the same issues and I've changed and replaced so much on this car and the problem still isn't fixed.
@@SweetTWil I'm almost giving up on a suit because trying to find information and actually trying to start one is so complicated. Whatever you do, don't spend any more money trying to fix it because it can't be fixed. The 10-minute solution is even in GM's manual for the car, so they damned well knew about this issue. I watched another video on how to put a toggle switch in between the circuit from the ignition to the Anti-Theft and it doesn't work. Some people say they have Success With It, but not me and I'm a hands on guy that does all the work on my own car. I just deal with waiting 10 minutes whenever it decides to not start. Do you know the actual way to do the 10-minute disabling of the anti-theft system to restart your car?
It looks exactly like the autel BT609 battery tester. That battery tester is awesome because it also has special functions, actuation tests, and everything. I bought it not knowing it had all of those capabilities and use it for diagnostics sometimes when my other scanners are tied up. It also shows that the subscription is current for years so I’ll have to wait and see about that.
I have a 2011 chevy malibu that drove fine all day no problems and then I parked it now it cranks but will not fire over. I have replaced the fuel pump, crank shaft sensor, plugs, and fuel filter still have no luck
Always appreciate you sharing tidbits of knowledge! Any insight on scan tools is also helpful to everyone, whether they're in the market for one or not. Heck finding a feature on one you own, that you didn't even know was there, is fun.
I had a mechanic call me on a 2018 equinox that had a failed vacuum pump that he repaired, then the vehicle wouldn't start. Confirmed no injector pulse. Checked tsb and found out about reluctor on the cam issue. Told him to sell a full timing job including cam and reluctor assembly. All was well after that.
I just got a new battery a week ago nothing wrong till it suddenly wouldn’t start so had to keep trying. After 4 attempts it comes on. Had power and everything ie all dashboard and touchscreen radio. Also remote start stopped working almost a year ago. Any suggestions to what it could be?
I’ve had to fix a couple of these recently with shifted camshaft reluctors. I pulled up a pic of the camshaft on Rock auto and used that to get the reluctor close to where it should be and used a cam/crank correlation with the pico to get it exact. Didn’t know that they had a TSB with a detailed pic until after I was done 😂
2017 chevy malibu car didn't have brakes because the pump went out fixed that the car didn't wanna start we bought a new start put it on and it started now its acting up again could it be the camshaft sensor and the dash say starter relay changed it and it stll wont start help help help
whoa, whoa now! You need to come up with your own tags! "If I can do it, you can do it" is definitely taken! Even with credit attributed. So far I like what I've seen withy our diag style. But it's only my first day here. Let's see if the training fits my level. Wrench on!
Love this video! This kind of content is chocked FULL of information that comes off the top of your head. Im teaching my boys the trade while they finish school with the goal to open our own shop.
Sr. Can you please give me some advice iv jad my 2011 for a year it keeps breaking down alternator twice starter battery! Changed battery cable but the neg will not tighten down and cant order because of recall? Please help i spent so much money ibe been to shops ibe been to every mechanic and its never fixed i broke down 2day 5 hours on the side of the road smh any idea both battery and alternator are good slow cranking now but the battery was completely dead help
You need to call all the shops and ask them if they can perform voltage drop testing and how much training they attend. If they can not answer articulately, hang up, and find one that can. I competent technician can diagnose the issue, and fix it right the first time. No I don't know how much it will cost, no one will until they find out what is wrong.
When you refer to immobilized, are you referring to the flashing security light? I’m asking because in prior generations like early 2K the engine will crank, but not start. They are cutting fuel or spark, one of the two and you have to perform the security bypass procedure to get it to start. Is that considered immobilized or is that something different?
Is it okay to drive when you unplug those though. Because i did and it started but when i closed everything up iput them back on to test it and bam crank no start but now im stuck here if i cant drivewith them unplugged
Turn your key to the on position without starting it and see if your anti-theft light blinks. If it does, turn the key to on and do not start let it blink until it goes solid and then shuts off. The car should start after that.
You vacuum is probably broken I had the same issue it’s a dealer part Carquest usually can get you one. But replace the pump but there is a journal on the engine block clean that out with a atop or something because all the carbon from the oil plugs up the filter and doesn’t allow oil to get to the pump do not use compressed air

Disappointing to watch a video all this time then no result at the end. Can't wait for part two. Oh by the way I did buy the tool and sent it to my kids so they can give me codes when they got them.
@@DP064 to be honest, I have looked I can't seem to find a fuse for it. Others have said they've pulled a fuse, but I can't find one. What kind of vehicle do you have?

This is happening to my Malibu right now. Sometimes it starts right up and sometimes it takes four or five tries.

It's all good bro. You are easy to watch, well versed, make sense.

Hi, so replacing the sensors will solve the issue?
My chevy have exactly same issue,
More videos please, thanks Keith.
Hmmm, 20 degrees off and no cam crank correlation codes? Did the vacuum /brake code stop it from setting other codes? Interesting.
Guys the real problem is the key fob not reading security system start by reprogram the fab
My fiance just brought a used 08 Malibu it's cranking but not starting. Maybe it is the key fob .we only have a regular key
I just bought an otofix d1 lite scanner right before your video poped up 😅

Thanks as always for the great content Keith and sharing your experiences. More great devices!
I have a 05 malibu rarely starts on the first crank but starts on 2nd or 3rd

You said why moving that block around under the dash would start the car. Only talked about the scan tool!

Can the customer still drive ? My car is doing something similar to that
Please we are facing the same problem what can be the problem
AWESOME content brother keep at it and yes more off those videos thanks for sharing. cheeeeers from Canada.
My car does that because of the garbage anti-theft system. I just turn the key to on for 10 minutes, shut it off and it starts.
Great vid ! I wonder why no cam crank correlation codes
No idea
Cool video keep sharing please.thanks Keith.
This is the exact same thing I’m dealing with. I have a 2018 Chevy Malibu I was really hoping for the result and the how to fix it ending please🙏
Same here. No one will even work on it and I still have to drive it every day.
Unfortunately it's been 2 years and no one has figured out my problem.
Is it okay to drive when you unplug those though. Because i did and it started but when i closed everything up iput them back on to test it and bam crank no start but now im stuck here if i cant drivewith them unplugged
Now I've taken them back off and it won't start still. What the fuckkkkkkkkkk
I have a 2016 Chevy Malibu and its doing this exact thing.. What do I need?
Needs to be properly diagnosed first.
Oh so then your video wasn’t for purpose of helping people just promoting the tool gotcha

@jessedeschamps962 found out in fact was the vacuum pump.. already replaced it :)
@jessedeschamps962 but on the process of it breaking..it made my camshaft out of line so I had to put it back in time

I mean, that is what I said.
My wife car(17 malibu) is doing the same thing, I ran cross video. Any idea what's causes this?
Needs diagnosed.
I have to wiggle my fuel box and it cranks right up
LOVE IT keep it coming!!!
This might seem like a dumb question but, since I'm not familiar with any of these scanners, do they require wi-fi in order to function?
no
@@JOHNPHUFNAGEL Thanks for the info. I'll be looking into them.
Intro was dope🔥🔥🔥
That tablet reminds me of the APPlite tablet

Did you want me tear it apart with no approval? I feel like the result was pretty definitive.
Just want to know the problem.. my car is doing the exact same thing
Me too
Yep, I showed the diagnostic process. Not a silver bullet video, everycar is different.
It works🎉 Thank you😎
Love it keep em coming
If the anti-theft system is malfunctioning it will shut down fuel injectors and fuel pump.
Can I take that fuse out and start it?

@@DP064 I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu, which is notorious along with other models from GM that have a faulty anti-theft system.
On some cars, yes.
That doesnt work.
Someone must have been at those cam sensors before because the red locking tabs were already undone, wink wink.
I just f hate Malibu that's 1 of the shirts American vehicle
