Maybe they didn't mention it because the Black Album wasn't recorded there. The Black album was recorded in LA at One On One Studios. There were, however, some guitar overdubs recorded at Little Mountain with Hetfield, for that album, but everything else was done in LA. No drums for that album were done in Vancouver.
Wikipedia says: “In October 1990, Metallica began recording at One on One Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California, to record the album, and also at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia for about a week.”
I could be wrong but I think it was just James and Bob to do vocals and some guitar overdubs. There is footage on the "Year and a Half in the Life" DVD but I haven't watched it in ages.
Anything that was recorded there , drums in particular, sound magnificent.
Just recorded there last weekend. Still a legendary room, and Hipposonic is carrying on the legacy with flying colours.
Yeah ok bud
It was a magical place
I can picture James hetfield holding the tele talking to the camera in that front door
bob rock bursts out the door: fucking hetfield, were recording a god damn albu-what the fuck
that's what started my desire and ultimately purchase of a blonde tele.
Can’t believe they didn’t mention Metallica, or the fact the Black Album was recorded here...

Didn't Metallica do the black album there? Anybody know?
