In California, no nets are allowed to scoop them. Only by hand, crab snare, crab cage or crab hoop. You guys are lucky.

@juliemanarin4127 that's the Department of Fish and Game regulations. When you go fishing and hunting, it is best to follow the rules. Otherwise there will be less and less to catch or hunt in future years.
