  • Edit: The "Fluke" is actually a Winter Flounder. Fluke (Summer Flounders) have eyes on the left side, while Winter Flounder have eyes on the right side.
Finally home from college! Decided to head to a local creek in Bayport, New York. Estuaries are one of my favorite body of waters to explore mainly because of the amazing biodiversity. Hope you enjoyed this video!

Love your voice over. And love the rolling footage. Feels like very natural and fluid, and not overly edited, which I like. Great info, too.

thats a winter flounder not a fluke, used to be the most abundant fish on the east coast, pop. crashed in 6 years starting around 1988

Haha I know. I was told it was a Fluke by the people I was with but never got around to fact checking that. Didn’t take the time to check which side the eyes were on. Good catch though!

Get a SEINE NET 15-20 feet long 4 feet deep for the creeks, works much better than cast net.

I do have a seine net! Currently it’s in Florida right now where I go to college. I plan on getting a new one for NY soon. Thanks for the suggestion.
