I miss this Diner so much! I remember going here as a kid, to eat. The fans were always fascinating to me. It was such a cool install, especially huggers installed like that, over the counter. I remember pulling the chains on them, and stuff. I remember when these were rainbow, but they painted them. It's a shame that these fans are gone, because they were major child to me. Also it sucks that the Diner itself is gone, and is not a Mexican Taco Joint, which is honest to god ridiculous, that it became that, they should've left it alone, and keep the way it was, and not ruining it, This was an amazing diner, with a weird, but yet cool install.
So many childhood memories. My dad and I used to go there all the time. I think I was the first one to post pictures of this place and the fans on the internet. Now it's a Mexican taco place, which I was initially upset about, but their food is pretty good. I still miss John's.
