The Largest Typical Buck To Ever Walk The Earth!

  • These Sheds belong to the largest typical whitetail to ever walk the face of the earth. Coined “The General” these sheds were originally picked up by a Nebraska farmer in 1958. The sheds would sit in a dusty barn for 37 years before being discovered by an outfitter in the mid-’90s talking to farmers while scouting a new area.
According to North American Whitetail, the original owner of the sheds told the guide that there were THREE bucks of this size roaming the area when he found the sheds. The sheds boast matching 32-plus-inch main beams, 7-inch mass measurements, and 14” g2s. The estimated net score came out to be 218 1/8” with an estimated inside spread of 23 6/8”.
If this deer would have been shot by a hunter, it would have easily smashed Milo Hansen’s current world record of 213 5/8”. These sheds beg the question “what other world-class racks are sitting out there in dusty old barns waiting to be discovered?” Be sure to check out the full video in the comments and let us know what you think of this buck!

They aren't that smart, they are reclusive. Imho, a matriarch doe of 7-8 years old , is the smartest deer in the woods. She has to expose herself daily to raise fawns and plays hunters for a living . Mature bucks are just nocturnal . Momma does will bust you everytime . I've known several matriarch doe deer that when they showed up, I might as well go home , lol. They would pick me out everytime and I often hunt at 30ft or more up a tree .

No one can hunt. It is a natural gas pipeline about 3000 acres. I have lived in Montana, Utah, Idaho, and California. I have been in all of the central to western US states except Washington, you would not think such a huge buck would exist in South Texas, but it did. It is by far the biggest Whitetail I have ever seen in person. The amount of time the deer here have to build their rack with green plants is longer than many other states. You have heard of a Florida Black bass? Same thing, it's warmer longer, so they get bigger. This bucks rack was wide and tall, and had about eight points coming off of the main beams, and another 6 branching off of the tines. He was about a 32 points.

They don't get that big and old by being dumb! Knew of a monster years ago, saw one of the sheds and it had 18 points on it and was a very tall and unusually formed rack with main beams that were massive in diameter. You could stand it upright on 3 of the top points like one of those Hurry-canes on TV, and was so tall I could have actually used it like a cane! My friend would watch that deer every fall trying to bust that rack off his head on a rock pile, sometimes successfully. Smart deer right there! He knew what was up! I'm a horseshoer and go to mini barns around the old community. This gentleman I work for has been shed hunting for a little over 45 years and probably has roughly around 2,000 mule deer 5,000 to 5500 Roosevelt elk sheds and probably close to 3 to 3500 Columbian black tail sheds he's got a three-story Barn built in the mid-1800s and it's halfway filled up his garage in his house is halfway filled up as well. He showed me around there's room on the couch and that's it has never turned a single one into the record books and I could damn well tell you that there was at least 75 to 100 that should be in there. & props to whoever read this whole thing cuz I probably wouldn't have 😂

While cleaning I found an ancient absolute monster mounted in the basement. I brought it upstairs and asked what they wanted to do with it and she said her grandpa shot it when he was young and it had been down there for years. Long story short it freaked her brother out so it had to be kept in the basement and it meant a lot to her dad so she couldn’t get rid of it. Breaks my heart. My uncle was a taxidermist and he’s shown me some massive deer people brought him but this deer smoked all of them. My dad had it scored and the one side came out at 89". That would put it close to 200" depending on spread and what the other side was it had 7 perfect typical points and mass that me with large hands can hardly get around it all the way up close to the tip. It's by far the most massive antler I've seen and would be close to a record and doesn't have the beam length of those. There is another set of sheds , that I think would rival this buck . There is a replica mount of that deer at a big mom and pop sporting goods store , uncle lees ( I think ) in Kentucky. Most impressive I've ever looked at in person . Going off my fading memory , it would have major deductions per B&C standards because it had 8 very impressive typical tines on each side . B&C considers an 8 by 8 unusual enough to be considered atypical . 2 tines would have been called atypical and been major deductions. All the tines would qualify as very typical in origin on the beams . Insane row of 10 " to 13 " tines on both sides, matching side to side almost perfectly . I think it was from Iowa or Nebraska . If scored typical as it sat , it would have scored well over 200, but as is , under B&Cs 7x7 rules, it would have over 20" of deductions .

I'm not a hunter , heck I feed the deer in my yard. I wish I put a photo of the deer near my house, I only see him once or twice a year during the rut, by man he's close to this size.

That buck would never beat the Hansen buck. A couple deductions based on the G2,3,4 sharing a base and doing it on both sides, or something like that, just ask the Hansen buck legal team.
