So... Anyone want to talk about good dialogs and animation? Oh, come on. I can't be the only who misses those times we used to have a decent animation, dialogs and a good plot back in the games.

Garrus was that guy that would try to start up a conversation to be polite and show interest in the people around him then accidentally come off as racist not meaning to.

Like in ME1 where he insulted Tali blaming her for the Geth attacks and such xD
It's funny how everyone talks like that, but in real life if you talked to someone about "your people" like that it would come across as extremely racist, even if it wasn't intentional. Just replace krogan/quarian/turian/human with a real world ethnicity. All they're missing is someone saying "You're a credit to your species!" or "You're one of the good ones!"

There's an easter egg in one of the Archon's files on Voeld (I think) in Andromeda, that mentions some of turian strengths being superior reach and flexibility. Cracked me up.

Hadn't played Andromeda yet, not planning in a while, once I heard it has open world in it, it reminded me of Inquisition, and that really ruined the game for me, as focus wasn't on story so much anymore but on collecting. :(
I basically just finished it and let me tell you, its not as bad as people make it out to be. First off, I completely agree with you, the open world and crafting/questing is way overdone and not only stretched the game wayyyy too long it also took away some of the epicness the story could have had, like the old trilogy did. That beeing said, its a hell of a lot of fun to play and the characters are awesome, heck I'd go as far as to say the conversations of the crew on the tempest are actually better than the normandy ever was, it actually feels like a family, even if that is proably the only thing MEA actually does better than its predecessors, with maybe the combat.
Don't let people spook you, theres plenty of great things about MEA, but damn, theres so much that could or rather should have been done differently/better.
Thank you for your opinion. I am planning on trying it, when able. It's just not on my priority list right now, but I will try it for old times sake. :)
Just look how Garrus have grown. During his convo with Wrex on ME1, it shown that he look up and respects Shepard greatly. While on ME3 he be like "Yo Shepard my dude lets scope some reapers"
Going through deadly missions together is an excellent icebreaker.

The Tali segment is the best. It reminds me of when Garrus tried talking to her in the Citadel in ME2 and Tali threatened him with a shotgun.

I prefer the one when I brought Tali and Wrex with me. And Wrex starts talking about the quick shotgun reload he taught her. And Tali reassured him she can take care of herself. And Wrex expressed his worries for her because he's getting old, and even said she was his favorite quarian. Then she called him the crazy head butting uncle she never had.
That's why I romanced her.

@@jakebishop7822 yeah but that was hundreds of years prior to the beginning of ME1, and the level of pain the Krogan people who had nothing to do with the events of the past had to go through was inhumane (or inkrogane or insalarian) even then biological warfare on an entire species is just something I think is generally bad. I’ll always side on the krogan with this one
Wrex overshadows everyone in every conversation. The combination of krogan mentality and that funny yet threatening voice is unbeatable.
I had bromance with wrex and garrus as my bodies.

mass effect elevators best loading screens ever it actually keeps you in the game and it had some good moments with the comedy.
Until you're on the 10th playthrough and you just want to get on with it

Garrus is by far my most favourite character in the series, and BTW, i miss those conversations...
As do I, they're one of the things I always really look forward to every time I play the first Mass Effect. It was nice that they threw that one last one into the Citadel DLC....makes it all the better if you have Garrus and another of the old party members XD I'm glad all of the Dragon Age games have kept the party banter, and that we don't have to be elevators in order to hear it, haha.

There really wasn't :/ They had specific places on the various hub worlds where a squadmate would have something to say about the world or that particular spot, but there really aren't any spontaneous conversations in the game...except for the one spot on the Citadel where Garrus and Tali talk about the elevator conversations in the first game...hopefully Mass Effect 4 will take a card from Dragon Age and have spontaneous conversations take place in the world, or will have conversations between loading different places like the first game did.

mass effect 1 had that and most of three. I still wonder why 2 was like that. Still love the games. It's just since kotor I love small banter in the walking around moments.
3:50 Given the Citadels attitudes towards the Quarians, I think Garrus is likely the only member of the Council Races to say "I'm Sorry" to a Quarian about anything and actually mean it.
Sounds more like he is mocking the quarians to me
the best dialogues were between Garrus and Wrex
This is missing Tali sass on Garrus. Can't remember which game it is but it goes something like,
G "Don't you miss our elevator conversations?"
T "No."
G "Aww come on. Don't you remember you telling us about your life on the Flotilla?"
T "I'm ending the conversation"
G "Tell me again about your immune system"
T "I have a shotgun"
That's an ME2 conversation that gets triggered at a specific point on either the Citadel or Illium, I can't remember which.
You'd think this far into the future they'd have faster elevators. But noo...they also have music. You'd be hard pressed to find elevator music in actual elevators today.

Especially on the Normandy SR-1, you'd think that in the 2270s elevators will be faster.
Citadel elevators were built long time ago.
well a elevator can only move so fast without hurting those inside or stimulating zero G as the floor is traveling down faster than you can fall.....
or simulate higher gravity by moving up super fast making the G-froce brake your legs/ spine or just leave your blood pooled in your boots...

Fun fact: that elevator isn't actually moving.
Fun fact: Shepherd always forgot to press the button so everyone was forced to stand around making awkward small talk for ten minutes before someone would press the button for the five second trip.
It's interesting the bit where he's curious about what the Normandy can do in a fight. I imagine he probably got his answer to that shortly after the events of the first game when the Collectors destroyed the Normandy. It got destroyed with ease. It's mostly meant for stealth.
Darkstar263 And then in Mass Effect 2, assuming you bought all the upgrades for the Normandy SR-2, then she's able to handle a fight.

Garrus is one of the karakters that really developed in the games. ME1 he was the fresh boyscout eager to follow a Spectre. ME2 Shepard's Death obviously put him on a dark road to Omega trying to make a difference. ME3 he is more relaxed in tone and grew into his own element. Still holding Shepard into high regard but a very capable Soldier in his own right.
The elevator music is the best part of it. I was always dancing to it, and when I'm going to play ME3, I will dance again.
I like the touch that Wrex criticizes Garrus for being too eager to see the Normandy in combat. Come the beginning of ME2 and Wrex was more right than we could've known.
Garrus is by far the best character in mass effect and I love most of them.

I do miss the conversations between characters in ME2. ME1 had the elevator conversations, and ME3 had the actual dialogue scenes on the Normandy.

That's a dialogue in ME2 that's triggered if you have Tali and Garrus in your squad on... it's either the Citadel or Illium
Oh god the elevator music gets me every time. The remix of the main theme is so funny.
My squadmates almost NEVER spoke to each other in the elevators. (Xbox 360 version, for reference.) I always got the news reports.
It seriously irked me.

I never understood why people hated the elevator rides... they're just as long as the loading screens from ME 2 and 3
I play the PC version. The loading screens were nowhere close to as long as the elevator rides.
That, and hearing the same dialogue on a repeat playthrough can get really annoying.
Tali already said she didn't miss the elevator talks in Mass Effect 2 if you bring them both on the citadel, yet Garrus still asks
I always loved when you all just stood there staring at the door. I always played that stock 10 hour music loop during these scenes.
I missed almost every one of these elevator conversations because I kept on just getting Citadel News in the elevators

I loved those conversations.
See, the banter was still good back in ME1, but there's that one clunk between lines. Imo, the VAs were really good even back then. It seems to have been more a programming(?) issue than an actor one. And considering that they were all new roles and most of them alien, that's impressive.
This is great, but I'd love a comp with all possible ME1 elevator conversations. These are just the ones that feature Garrus.
