Bahahaha!!! This is so dumb. You know Bluetooth has a max range of 30 feet (give or take a few), right? There are only three neighbors within that range (though its most likely the people right next door, over the wall, that are messing with them). Just use a Bluetooth scanner app to find them. Do it at night though so the number of potential false positives is minimal. When you identify them, you can send them a cease and desist letter and potentially push further action if they don't stop.
They could also go after the manufacturer for making a product that is not secure, has no means to be secured, is a known issue that should have been fixed long before they bought the tub, and is a nuisance that is resulting in emotional trauma.
Hahaha it's the son!!!!!!
I bet it is 😂😂😂
Bluetooth can have a max range of 100's of feet. Depends on the protocol and the antenna.
There's probably some backdoor in the way that it was designed that hackers can access. Or it's a random neighbor or something stupid.
from 10 m (33 ft), up to 100 m (330 ft) ... Depends on many factors ....
We did this to a bar we got kicked out of years ago with a wifi touch tunes jukebox. We just sat in the parking lot and selected boy bands for like 3 hours. Money well spent.
Jokes on you, a percentage of that money probably went to the bar, so you were just donating to the place that kicked you out
@@ingamelevi1929 We were the ones laughing, so no.
Someone’s phone might be accidentally connecting. And they’re probably trying to figure out why they can’t hear their phone. 😂
I have a Bluetooth speaker that one of my neighbors seem to connect to once in a blue moon... I can tell when I hear a lot of spanish randomly coming from it(I don't speak spanish) IT also makes a sound when connected to, so I hear it then shut it off....
God forbid they starting playing Adult spicy videos through that hot tub speaker....
but if they are accidently connecting they have to put the "universal" code dont they?
Did you watch the video? They need the universal PIN to connect so it's definitely on purpose.
@@helpis0ntheway If its a universal 1234, they might be trying to connect to something else, and the hot tub grabbed it first.
So thats an easy one.
And after that, if they are set to auto connect, they would never have to put it in again.
(Much like the home owner SHOULD be doing, apparently she has no idea how bluetooth works if she has to put the pin in every time.)
It's probably the same code for a different device also
You guys know this is your neighbor right messing with you guys right?
Meanwhile one of their neighbors is wondering why their headphones quit while they are in the middle of playing on-line casino games…
Hahahaha the casino game noises got me 😂😂😂
@@SleepyPuppyCrypto Yeah I just gotta think if someone were doing this deliberately they’d be getting Rick Rolled, or 10 hour Hamster Dance, or James Brown’s Celebrity Hot Tub Party, or…
Hahaha! I thought this was going somewhere else when I read the title. I thought somebody actually stole the hot tub and drove off with it! 😆
I thought that same exact thing whenever I first read the title lol 😂
I would disconnect the speaker wires from inside the panel. Problem solved.
Exactly. And they don't even need to do it permanently. Disconnect it long enough to make the neighbor give up trying to connect, then re-connect it later. But in the meantime, they would need to bring in some other kinds of NON-wireless speakers to play music, so the hacker would not notice when they went back to using the tub again.
Ask the manufacturer how to pull the fuse on the radio speaker buy your own portable Bluetooth speaker that you can change the default code and make your own password for the new speaker.
Was this solved yet? My theory is it’s one of thier next door neighbors. They were playing thier music too loudly for that neighbors taste and he’s getting his revenge. It’s totally someone over the age of 40 playing casino slots
One of their neighbors doesn't like a big wet boom box so close by, right outside their doors, and is taking some revenge. The fact that this couple seems oblivious to how loud and obnoxious the speakers are explains WHY they're getting hacked.
They need to actually talk to their neighbors. The hacker has to be within a short range. Either work out a time of day when you can use it without p!ssing anyone off (thereby taking away the motivation for the hacking), or disconnect the speakers.
And if you just want to escalate the situation, take up playing the bagpipes. Until you master them, even your Scottish neighbors won't like it.
Can't change the password? What is this 20 years ago? It's 2024 but no change password function is weird
Weird combined with a lazy company...
Dont buy things like a hot tub with bluetooth
Yeah, it is kinda stupid...
How are u gonna blame tha person for buying something they want ??... lol wtf smh
@@stabaholic187 It's not what they wanted they didn't want other people to use their Bluetooth speakers by accident or on purpose.
Wow! I thought they were victims until she showed how she blasts the hot tub music. Clearly, these 'victims' are the neighborhood a$$holes. They complain about hearing the weird noises while in their home but never consider that neighbors might not want to hear the hot tub music in their homes.
Yep, thats the first thing i thought too... These peoples pronouns are Me, Myself and I
You live two feet from your neighbors, yet want to play speakers outside. Relaxation doesn't include music. No matter what music you choose, there are others that just want some peace and quiet.
The people who need to see this message will not see it,sadly.
at first I thought the news broadcasters had an unnecessary condescending tone when introducing this story, but now I see how entitled these homeowners are and it is justifiable.
Good job. You just explained to EVERYONE how to hijack their neighbors hot tub
Well, Skynet has to start somewhere…
It's obviously one of the neighbors that's able to link into her Bluetooth. There must be a way to secure that
2024, this is not news.
It's local news, so it may
So physically disconnect the speaker, get a new blue tooth speaker…..
If you have to “enter a PIN” the logical solution would somehow change the PIN. I would contact the dealer and ask if it’s possible to. It sounds like they THINK the tub requires a PIN but it doesn’t and is automatically connecting with the strongest Bluetooth signal.
This is a family who is not taking enough time to actually research the problem.
Ewwww !! I don't know why people buy houses so close together! Major rip off
Your hot tub when not in use is going into "Pairing Mode" because it has power still.
So, its someone in your immediate area for bluetooth travels not far and they grab the connection and that pin is a dumb default pin.
You're answer is
Finding the neighbor
Or
Bring another bluetooth speaker outside
Id play a little and act like im going to use it and see whos home at certain times of days when its happening.
That's not a "hijacking", it's incidental interference. I, and neighbors of mine, had similar issues not long ago with bluetooth devices in our apartment spouting all kinds of weird $hit.
No, a bluetooth speaker can't have interference, it's someone connecting to the speaker intentionally.
@@DaleylifeMaybe not intentionally.
Fun fact about these type hot tubs is that it’s not unusual for it to be heated all the time like the water heater in your home. It’s well insulated so it’s as efficient to keep it heated as it is to heat it occasionally.
Need to make friends with a local ham radio club. Maybe they can pinpoint the signal while the offender is connected.
There is an easy fix, app-wise.. only allow the adding of WHITE-LISTED control devices. Do NOT rely on a 4 digit pin.
White-list only the IMEIs of her and the husband's cell phone. Tie this to account.
This has to be one of the useless pieces of journalism.
Sounds like you got a elderly neighbor that is confused
open up your laptop, and turn your blue tooth on, look for the available user names.
If you see a neighbor name, now you know who to talk to.
It could be someone's iPhone that was set to auto connect, and they were using the 1234 to connect to something else, and it connected to the neighbors hot tub first.
If she has to put her PIN code in every time, she is not set to auto connect.
As an aside, she should be able to turn the tub sound system off with its own power button.
How the hell is this on the news.
Нам бы ваши проблемы...
People really need to consider hiring IT security consultants for the in home tech people are starting to use daily. That is someone else blue tooth is trying to connect. Also, it looks like one of their neighbors also has a hot tub, so looks like your sharing the password with your neighbor.
Is there a Casino near by?
, Sounds like sounds from a casino
This is why I limit tech in my home lol
Don't play your music so loud that you have to talk over it. If people would put themselves in other people's shoes, respect and kindness, would return.
She probably was blasting the speakers and made her neighbors mad. Why not just turn off the speakers ??? Maybe she should not annoy neighbors within 30 feet of another residence. I’d do the same because it’s rude.
We are, they idiots? One of their neighbors. A kid outside is doing it. So Bluetooth only have a reach of like 30 feet, 20 feet I don't remember. But you have to be really close.
The latest current Bluetooth specs have a normal range of up to 400 m and an outside clear field range of up to 1000 m or better. This does depends on which protocol data is being relayed over the Bluetooth connection of course as each protocol has its own specification which may limit that range. However I've been able to maintain audio connections to my outdoor Bluetooth speaker at every corner of my 2 acre property except one which has a tree line blocking the view.
The 20/30 feet rule is a legacy holdover from when Bluetooth first came out but the tech & protocol spec today is way more efficient and advanced.
😂 These people obviously need to talk to their neighbor. Someone obviously accidentally connected and they don't realize it.
Maybe *change* the PIN? If the PIN can't be changed, it would probably be reasonable for the manufacturer to replace the device.
They tried, it's a universal passcode that's set by manufacturer
@@darcsyde87 Then manufacturer should *definitely* remedy the situation since the product was made without the ability to change the passcode. Ridiculous.
The same button to pair is the same to disconnect a device. If you reconnect, it should prioritize your bt device 😑 if it is the latest Bluetooth tech, you can fix it on your own. The pair number is for your safety on your device and not the speaker.
Change the pin?? LOL at least just turn the volume down or put it on mute! 😂😂😂
It’s probably some poor old person trying to play their slots and getting no audio 😂
why does a hottub even need speakers?!
thats like a toaster, connected to the internet..... *WHY?*
Lets all sing the Idiocracy song.
"The world's gettin' dumber. Dumber dumber dumber. The world's gettin' dumber. la-de-dah"
The youtube loops that could be played 8-10 hours long. lol
Do they have a spare ipad or an old phone they can connect and leave connected? Not a great fix but it'd keep the other person off
one of her neighbors is a ultra boomer and doesn't know i think.
This is when it pays to be poor! I’ve never had any problems with my inflatable hot tub and JBL speaker off to the side. Also you don’t need a hot tub. It’s a luxury!
Expensive doesnt mean secure bluetooth products installed
Some Bluetooth dont work right with specific phones and will connect to them without a passcode.
Someone's probly just putting there 4 digit phone code in to unlock it and its connecting to there hot tub at the same time with the same code 😂😂😂
ummmm disconnect the speaker
Lmao they pissed their neighbors off by blaring music and they are messing with her
That's company should fix it or change out their hot tub.i bet the hot tub has wifi and they are connecting to their wifi and its popping on their Bluetooth speaker also.its got to be one of her neighbors areound her back yard
Definitely a bored neighbor kid lol
They seem kinda young to be living in Sun City, considering its a 55+ town.
Switch off the breaker at like midnight or 1am boot them and change the pin. Are people really this dumb now?.
Somebody’s cheating done had somebody over dipping in and connecting phone to the tub case closed
It’s fairly simple to change the pin number I would think 🤔
Yeah, you can scan 4 digit PINs in a few minutes.
It would be easy for the manufacturer to install a switch to kill power going to the Bluetooth speakers when they're not using it.
Jealousy is what's going on. Nosy neighbors with issues
Can't you just turn off the Bluetooth when U r not in the tub
They're probably too intelligent to figure out how to do that...😀
💁♂️ Don't change the pin. That would be common sense. 👍
Turn off the Bluetooth. Problem solved. How is this a story ?
This is NOT in Sun City. Sun City is an only 55 + community.
All bluetooth use the same code or no code bluetooth because bluetooth is only good for like 50ft so armed with that knowledge you know that they are close. second once you connect to a bluetooth device with your phone it is always paired with it if it is available so the Neighbor only paired with it once.Probably by accident and every time they use their phone it pairs with the speaker automatically the way to fix it is when it's happening knock on the closest neighbors door and ask it they are playing candy crush or play this song they will be surprised im sure once you figure that out have them unpair from it problem solved
How dumb can you be? Obviously the kid next door coincidentally has the same 4-Digit password for his Bluetooth😅 whenever these people are listening to their hot tub he probably thinks someone has hijacked his speaker.
0000 or 9999?
And scanning them all is under 10,000 numbers.. so it can be brute-forced in under a few minutes.
Im seriously surprised that a maker in the area is not helping these poor people out. Ida been fixed this problem. Wy@ Arizona makers?
Simple solution.. TURN OFF THE BT SPEAKER!!!
SMDH
Wow, first world problems. I wish this was the only major problem I had to deal with, FFS
What a nightmare! My thermostat was hacked recently. SRP and Honeywell helped but it took a few weeks.
Buy goats....piss the neighbors off for real😂😂😂😂😂😂
These are the same hackers that take over Ring camera Audio/Video signals. They talk to you and watch you. Ha ha ha. Turn your cameras off until you leave the house. Ring Corp. enables these hackers. (liability ? ) Bluetooth ? , a two year old can hack.into it. .I agree, the bluetooth hack is local -(nextdoor?) But Ring hackers can be virtually anywhere. .
"We need a technician!"
Change the pin
Buy a cheapo Android tablet, use the breaker to reset the hot tub and using the tablet like they were doing with their phones connect to the hot tub before the neighbor can and leave the tablet on connected to the speaker full time with the tablet always connected to the charger. Do that long enough the "hacker" may eventually give up. They can use the tablet to play all the music they want when they want.
I guess there is no way in the hot tub to just disable the bluetooth speaker, no internal fuse panel?
Lucky im not your neighbor i would of played la chona and a 10 hour loop of el sonidito
It.s your Neighbor
Probably some HOA karen near by
Somebody close by has it
Turn the fuckin bluetooth off then
My wife boots my phone all the time lol
Buy some faraday fabric or a bluetooth jammer.
its a neighbor
That is funny absolutely hilarious as long as it doesn't happen to me
You cant change the password wut the
Take the speaker out.
Hahahah, unplug it
First world problems...
lol I did it.
😂🤣😂
Hot tub dealer sounds suspicious. Thanks, banner university hospital laughs too.
Could be someone with a flipper zero😂
Sounds to me like a neighbor needs a rather physical discussion on bad behavior...
This is intentional… not by accident….. they have to deliberately find the blue tooth, click on it, and put the pin in.. if you havnt figured that out then you have no common sense…
Did u even watch tha vid dude ??... yes they figured that out dummy , watch tha full vid before talking out of ur azz next time
next time dont let the code be visible to everybody? its messed up but dont have it on display for them to be able to do it saves alot of trouble in the long run
Bluetooth has a 30 foot range if that. Come on people. You can't figure it out within 30 feet?
