What is missing Gabriel is a discussion of the need for a democratic centralist socialist party movement: talk is ….! Organization is tough.

The good cop/bad cop analogy is just moralism. Communists have a criticism of the rule of law, democracy, human rights-- and dismissing it as mere "ultra leftism" isn't a refutation of its arguments against it.
You can't fight fascism by acting as a foot soldier of the currently existing democratic form of rule and its bourgeois ideals.

It's clear Gabriel Rockhill has never read Karl Marx's Capital Vol. 1. When he answered the question about whether colonialism is an aspect of capitalism, he responded by quoting Lenin and not Marx's Capital.. He is also confused into thinking present day China meets the standard to be considered a socialist country.

My goodness what's up with this new crop of communist who run a full throated defense of Chinese capitalism. Either the world has gone full batshit (or) these guys are agents.

The WEF (a openly fascist outfit) touts China as the model for the world. You would this this would give some Leftist pause.

He is not alone in the opinion that "present day China meets the standard to be considered a socialist country".

Yeah, lots of socialists are wrong. Many more Marxists are aware that China has been on the capitalist road since Deng.@@dinnerwithfranklin
