Another great video from Cadence well done James and Chappy, plus very nice to see Monty making a guest appearance he seemed to be enjoying his day out on the Wye with James! 👍🦆😉🎣🤔Tight Lines Steve Amison
Excellent demonstration of how to fish a stick float James, well explained and superbly filmed by Chappy. I totally agree with the rod selection. The Cadence CR10 15ft is perfect for stick float fishing.
Love my dace and roach. Definitely going to start fishing a little closer in. The two shotting patterns is an eye opener. Thanks James and Ian. Cracking film
Brilliant again lads, a tester for Chappy with the weather but as usual made it look like a walk in the park! Inspired me to put the Cadence 14’ match #2 in the hold-all and head off to the Swale tomorrow for a stick float session😎
Well done james and chappy tough conditions and a quality net of fish and video, enjoyed that and got me ready for a session tomorrow. hope you bought monty a fish dinner on way home :-) Danny
Brilliant video James, Chappy and Monty.Thank you for the advice and tips. Fished 93 a couple of times this weeks and yes the Wye is on fire at the moment. Also hope to catch up with you at Upton next Wednesday. Oh and could you also do a few videos at Eign please. Naturally Monty was the star of the show!
Hi James Been watching your videos for over a year now... but particularly enjoy the Wye vids. My father Alan Solomon was the organiser of the original South Wales winter league way back in the early - mid 80's, which very often had legs fished in Belmont / Hereford. I fished myself back then and was Welsh junior champion one year and a junior Welsh international. I fished for the Glamorgan Rebels.. whilst the Cardiff Nomads were always the team to beat back then. I just wondered if the "Dave Roberts" you mention is the same one from all those years ago... ? I remember many of the old names.. Clive Branson, Richie Candy, Clive Roberts,, Spud Murphy, Richie Bainton and on and on........ I can't begin to tell you the amount of memories and so on some of these videos dredge up - amazing :) . I live out in the Canary Islands now.. no coarse fishing here full stop... feels like a different life to be honest. Anyway, thank you for the work you and Chappy put in to these videos. If I ever move back to the UK I will be up to date with what I need to do as opposed to harking back to the old methods and so on...... And what a handsome fellow Monty is too! :) Cheers, Gary
I didn't know that, cheers! Not my favourite thing Carp fishing (commercial anyway) would prefer the old ways, especially river fishing. I'm on Fuerteventura (different island and dry as a bone.. no stillwaters or rivers) but its easy to hop between islands. Thanks again.
Wowsa 🎣 ! Very enjoyable video ! luckily to have fished that peg too ! Agreed the Wye is an awesome river ! Nice one James ! Tight Lines and merry Xmas to you all at Cadence !
Another excellent upload Cadence team. James, going to be doing some slider fishing on the river Don, Conisbrough, deep water, steady flow, over halfway across, with heavy waggler, which rod out of the Cadence range would you recommend?
@@cadencefishinguk Thanks for quick response James. I would start off on a 0.10 bottom, adjust if needed throughout the day, you can get some decent bream. Having watched Stephen Whitfield, on an upload from BagupTV, he was using the Cadence 15` No1 for his slider work. So it is a 15` CR10 and a choice of a softer No1 or slightly stiffer No2...always willing to assess advice from accomplished anglers....tight lines James.
Hi Caius, yes the #1 is softer than the #2. I think I would go for the #1 version with 0.10 hooklengths. No problem to contact me and we can discus ( jcrobbins@cadencefishing.com)
You said you always put a small split-shot directly below the float, how far below that first shot do you start putting another shot? Do the numbers of shots you put on the line help slow down the drift of the bait? If so, would the speed of the drift be more affected if you put more of the shots closer to the float or further down away from the float? Thanks ahead if you could answer my questions, I appreciate it.
Hi Robert, yes the Wye is an exceptional river! However I've caught on the stick close to the bank on other high rivers like the Severn, Trent and Warwickshire Avon. Typically when they are dropping as opposed to a rising river. Cheers James
Can't stop watching the channel I'm glad I stumbled across it, also received my new feeder rod today 12 foot no3 what a quality rod it is thanks 😊
Brilliant 👍👌😁
Can't tell you how much I love these videos please keep them coming
Cheers. Chappy
Enjoying these Friday nights 👍🍺
Looks like James has settled in at cadence , great to see .

Fishing that close id use my trusty 12ft match. .
Them 15ft look too cumbersome. .
But great vid, never tire of seeing the float dip under 😁
Yet another great river fishing film Thanks James and Chappy. Whish I could find that line in the shops
Hi Neil, I but the Pro Gold from Lanes in Coventry. The Vespe line can be purchased on www.vespe.com
Cheers James
Thanks used to use Pro Gold when I carp fished about 20 years ago

Thanks Paul. Yes it was tricky. Wetter than it looked.
Great to watch, I really enjoy watching your videos and the tips you pass on and Monty 👍
Excellent and informative as always.
Well done! Fantastic video! Thank you!

The power of RUclips is amazing isn't it ! Chappy
Gary, there is carp fishing on Gran canaria
I didn't know that, cheers! Not my favourite thing Carp fishing (commercial anyway) would prefer the old ways, especially river fishing. I'm on Fuerteventura (different island and dry as a bone.. no stillwaters or rivers) but its easy to hop between islands. Thanks again.

Tight Lines and merry Xmas to you all at Cadence !
Absolutely brilliant video James, I’ll have to save me pennies now to get a CR10 #2 for fishing in Shrewsbury 👍
Not that many pennies required André, that's why cadence makes sense😄👍
Nice Chappy!
Time to get that kit in the wash, James!
He's not nicknamed swampy for nothing!!!
Hi Pat, not much point on the Wye and in this weather! Will b e ok until the Spring 😜
Stay downwind, man. :-)
Excellent video again James. Do the decent chub ever show up?
Yes
Great informative video James.
What knot do you tie your rigs on winders to the mainline with.
Cheers Bert
Hi Bert, I use a full blood knot. Cheers James

Hi Caius, I would go for the 14ft #2 or 15ft #2 versions. What hooks and hooklengths do you typically use on those venues? Cheers James

my fave method of fishing , love to travel there for a days fishing . are there day tickets available james ?
fitman42 Hi! Yes day tickets are available from Woodys Angling Centre. Cheers James

Makes me wish I was better at fishing
keep watching, keep learning, keep practising ;)
What have you put in the maggots James, turmeric?
hemp on hook?
But we need to bare in mind that kind of fishing really is only possible on the wonderful wye and 6 inches rise , on my river will ruin it ,sadly
Hmmm, won't argue with you Robert. However, I would say that deeper rivers do produce close in when carrying extra water. Chappy
