      Watching the gold medal game he looked like the 2022 curry who was down 2-1 and just decided to take the series over. And the wide eyed French players looked like Tatum and jaylen when Steph curry couldn’t be stopped even with double teams running at him all game. Steph even told them after game 3, “enjoy this win because it’s your last.” Then proceeded to put on a legendary master clinic for three straight games. The wide eyes and desperate look that Tatum and jaylen had was identical to these French players helplessly chasing curry around the court as he just stopped running off ball screens, took the ball in his hands and ended them so quickly it looked unfair.

    Curry just demonstrated why I always say that any “all time Dream Squad best 5” lineup would have to include Steph Curry. Because he is by far the BEST and ONLY player who can spread the floor that far. Any other player, including MJ, can be replaced, leaving you only slightly worse off. But who can you replace Curry with? How do you replace his gravity and floor spreading? So many great big men you can swap in or out. So many great shooting guards from midrange that can swap in or out.
    But no other player can pull the defense out of position by creating his own shot from that far out at a career .639 efg. From freaking New Zealand he’s at .639 efg, STEPH CREATES MORE FLOOR IMBALANCE, AWAY FROM THE BASKET, THAN ANY OTHER PLAYER IN HISTORY.
    I don’t know why it took people so long to understand this argument. There was nobody on this year’s team USA that could take the Steph role. There is nobody from history you could have brought in with a Time Machine who could replace Steph. The ultimate perimeter neutron star of gravity.

    • @josephhandy8767
      @josephhandy8767 3 месяца назад +3

      Curry was getting cooked by unathletic white boys from Serbia lol. And I LOVE Steph, think he the best PG ever, but all time starting 5? Naw he too much of a liability on defense to be on that squad. On top of the fact that when the stakes are high, we have seen Steph multiple times go cold and hot, so it’s really hit or miss with any jump shooter, Steph is just the greatest at it. Just take this squad, let’s say you put Steph with the bench squad instead of the starters, he don’t have the same impact because basically they can take the ball out his hands. With Bron and KD on the court u can’t do that because both of them are elite off the ball and on the ball. Steph ain’t NEVER seen this many wide open shots in his life as he seen during this tournament. He knows, so I’m just happy he stepped up and did what we all know he can do

    3 things to say:
    1. To witness Lebron, KD and Steph together is a treasure to keep for the rest of our lives.
    2. Yesterday I broke up with my GF and I was certainly feeling low. Then my favorite player ever made of this one a better day. Steph’s impact is absolutely beyond imagination.
    3. That one in the back has to be a PRS Semi-hollow. I’m a PRS lover 😅

    As a Steph fan, the only thing I've ever disliked about LeBron is the utter lack of humility. "King" James, "Chosen" . . . come ON. Be great by being great, not by telling everyone how great you think you are. That said, for years I've wished LeBron would join the Warriors and him and Steph get their fifth (and sixth? and seventh?) together. Greatness recognizes greatness and despite being bitter rivals for a decade and constantly getting in each other's way, they love each other like brothers and play amazingly well together. So happy they did this together, them and KD greatest trio of all time.

In both situations it came down to a team being more than a sum of its parts and neither of the two in question care who gets what personal award as long as the end goal is accomplished. But part of the reason Serbia was up so much that game was because Steph was giving up OPEN a threes constantly and they were knocking them down. Thats always been Steph’s knock. It’s not on offense it’s on defense and if he’s not making shots, he doesn’t effect the game much any other way. Yea his gravity helps a lot, but it doesn’t matter if other players aren’t capable scorers. We have seen too many greats be able to take over games on both sides of the court.
