Guyanese Potato ball is actually a very plain simple thing. My grandmother who was Indian made it all the time. I dont even remember it having green onion. Also it doesn't need that batter coating and extra work. It's just a simple egg coating that was used for the batter to brown it. Well yours is the closest I've seen to the original. I see people adding a whole bunch of unneeded things
Thank you for the recipe. I do have a few questions. Is that culantro or cilantro (coriander leaves, Chinese parsley). When you soak the split peas, do you soak 1 cup of dahl or do you soak enough and use only the 1 cup after the fact. I am asking this because I am thinking that the 1 cup of soak split peas will not yield 1 cup of batter.
Hi there! Culantro is what I used (but you can use regular cilantro and it will be good too). Also I used split peas powder not the fresh soaked and ground peas. I would need to do some recipe testing to come up with measurements for that
Matthew I think some of your dishes is really good. What gross me off a little bit is your hairy hands .There is a way you can eliminate that problem by wearing a glove on your hand to prepare your menu. As a form of Trinidadian
I learned something so new today.Keep on cooking Matthew and I’ll keep on watching and learning more.Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
