In our country Bangladesh,We are Using Lifan KPR for a long time.Never heard something like this. You will see available bikes here already crossed 50k+ k.m & still running without any problem. We have a Facebook group Of Lifan KPR user in Bangladesh. But never saw something like this.Maybe something was wrong with the Battery!
Everyone saying that this changes their mind about buying one. Why? This exact thing can happen with any bike or car or atv no matter the brand or model. Unless this is something this particular bike is known for, I think people are a little trigger happy in condemning this particular brand-model bike. Don't let the unfortunate happenings of one bike dictate whether or not this bike is or isn't worth the purchase. Do your research and find out more before making any decisions hastily.
Dang man. I'm sorry. I just got my KPM 200 a couple weeks ago. If you can, try and diagnose what happened, so those of us with similar bikes can get ahead of the possible problem.
The ticking sound is most likely the engine being in gear making it engine braking, I've got that already. My Hero 200S has the same frame and the battery and solenoid is in the same place as this. I believe the soleniod or the regulator/rectifier started the fire. Most likley the regulator/rectifier was over charging the system and the battery exploded My 200S has 30,000km on it, with the only serious issue is a busted engine bearing at 22,000km and a recent charging issue. Because it a carburated bike, it don't rely on the battery to run
I really don't believe it was the bike I believe it was that old battery had did that it might got overheated and started to fry some of the wires and you may have one or two wires that you couldn't see that had got exposed and touching each other yes I do believe it messed up the voltage regulator but when you put that new battery in there may have been some other wires touching that also can cause the fire
It has full coverage so I filed an insurance claim. That $700 offer looks good about now lol. I wouldn't want anyone else to get stuck with a lemon though.

Have you contacted your dealer to see if this is covered under warranty yet?
I had to file it on my motorcycle insurance. The bike was declared a total loss by the insurance company.

Is the company have anything to say about this?
Wow I’m so sorry
Damn bro, sorry to hear that. Part it out....... I will pay for the handles, windshield and your new red windshield pieces, exhaust, etc....
The insurance company totaled it out.
Damn that sucks. I guess I'll get the Kawasaki Z400. Maybe I might get a Benelli 302s or an SSR Bucaneer Cafe.
Both of those are good looking motorcycles.
Do you still have the exhaust?
So how long did you have your kpr?b4 it started giving you problems...I have 2017 with 1500 miles
Around 600 miles over the last 5 months.
This is the first time I heard something like this from lifan. They need to reimburse you, your warranty is still active
