great vid mate again, lots of use full information, in my opinion inj on cyl3 is the reason, u can see inj on cyl2 is trying to reduce injected fuel as much as possible to correct it.
I had a similar problem with the last adaptation staying white no matter what. At the time I had just installed noxem and deleted all adaptation so the last adaptation staying white really bugged me. I also checked the misfire counter and cyl 3 had a lot, if I remember correctly, around 30 misfires after a slow 30 min drive (mostly stratified). I got a new injector, replaced it, wrote the new values and deleted the adaptation again. In ~30 min all of the ones that had to, were black. I continued to check on the adaptations every few weeks and noticed that sometimes the last one is white sometimes is black, my best guess is that in some cases it's deleted and need to be re-evaluated, so it waits for the conditions to perform the test. Right now the engines runs great, when I first got the car I freaked out at the first cold engine start, everything was shaking and vibrating, seemed like the car was breaking in half. Right now cold starts are great, no hiccups or vibration. Also last week I checked the spark plugs out of curiosity and because I know they're kind of a wear item. They looked pretty much like yours and I've also seen some spark plugs from another n43 which were completely black, so you should have no worries there. One more thing, my faulty injector (because was so faulty) would also trigger check engine light (I think it's more then 3 misfires in a row) sometimes when I would rev it until redline (in load); you could try that, not to trigger the check engine light, but to see if the misfire counter gets higher if you drive higher in the rev range (if it's the injector, it should, in my case at least)
Hi Jani, i like your video's they nice and clear, very helpful. i can't tackle my problem. The car hestitate "a small hick" while driving every now and then. i notice it happens when the car goes from stratified mode to homogen mode. (always when the lowest dot moves,i get a hickup in the engine) things ive noticed: injector 2/3 are 5% higher then 1/4 multiplicative bank 1 is -13% bank w +4% (changes then driving to abouy b1 -4% and b2 +7%) seems a bit high? caused by? lamda b1 before cat, lambda behind cat and nox is replaced, adaption values reset several times after each sensor replacement.
Again a Great tutorial. Keep up the good work! Got to go and try diagnose mine as well. Current error 3073 Zylindergleichstellung uber Laufunruhe /zyl 4 gives me headache lately.
The car is also misfiring along with having a very rough idle. From time to time, the car will switch itself off 20 seconds after starting. Another thing I will say, is that there was a VERY strong fuel smell exuding from the car. The cars also had its ignition coils and spark plugs done last month, so those are out of the question when it comes to what’s causing this issue. Plugged in my diagnostic scanner and pulled out these codes. 29F1 - Fuel Pressure, Plausibility 29CF - Combustion misfires, cylinder 2 29E0 - Fuel Mixture I’ve ordered 3 refurbished injectors off of eBay and will install them then see if that rectifies my issue.
I wouldn't go to order refurbished injectors. Personally, I went astray and also ordered 4 x refurbished before disassembling the engine. They were full of crap. They are just a waste of money! I hope you get your car in order! 👍
I also have the same engine and i am struggling with idle issues for some time now(it feels like a misfire and the engine is shaking very subtle every couple of seconds or so, but no fault code or a visible change in the RPM). Changed the coils, spark-plugs, valvecover, injectors to index 11(i know 12 is the last index, however I already had two index 11 on the engine since I bought the car, and decided to buy two more of the same). The only code i keep getting back is 30EA even after desuphurisation, and a couple of weeks ago the Nox sensor failed which only made the issue worse. I consider trying out Noxem, a replacement for the nox sensor, which will hopefully allow my long term adaptations to also be made. From my understanding even the Nox catalytic converter goes bad after 100K+ kilometers and my car has 145k now.
noxem is the way to go, i have heard lots of good opinions about it on bmw forums, my nox system is working but i know there is only about 15% live left in it
Good video! I’m getting P0175 (running rich bank 2) and also check engine light. Went to the dealership and they said it was the low pressure fuel sensor. Went ahead and change it myself... deleted codes and it came back after a few trips. Now it comes and goes. Also got inpa and it triggers the code every few hundred km. There was also a misfire on cylinder 3. Now, my question - is bank 2 cyl 3+4 or 2+3 as shown in your video? I’m thinking of changing injector 3 as that cylinder was the only one with misfire...
Bank 1 keeps cylinders 1 and 4. Bank 2 keeps cylinders 2 and 3. You can change sparkplugs and ignition coils between banks first. If misfires moves different bank, problem is sparkplug or ignition coil. If misfires continue in cylinder 3, then you can evaluate injector. Also It is advisible to check lambda probes values, Nox system also. Nox system can also cause these kind problems. Good luck 👍
Thanks for clearing that up! The weird thing is that I got the misfire and check engine light right after changing the spark plugs. They were changed at the dealership so I guess they know how to do their job, so perhaps a faulty coil pack... I’ll get that changed as I have some spares and hopefully that will take care of it. Love your videos, I plan to diagnose it again in INPA, I wasn’t even aware you can click ⬇️ to see the continuation of the report...
You can Google it. You can use example Scan Master, Touch scan or similar software witch is compatible with ELM327 adapter. Trial versions works well...
dude michael i did found ur comment recently about the problem wirh the oil pressure and the hydraulic valve on another vid and it solved my problem! many thanks btw! 😂
Learnbits went just fine in the past, as in my video about a year ago: ruclips.net/video/sk4sTM4Wgn8/видео.html I think the adaptations fail because the injectors are leaking and some misfires... But let's see how it goes, it's a little still in progress 😉
hi! i think your videos is very interesting. i have a 2007 320i with n43, it took me abot 1 month to get INPA to work, getting the right version. i have replaced my nox sensor, and followed ur instructions on desulphation. it did work! 30EA code gone! but now my car failed MOT because of exhaust values. do you think it could be a leaking injector or what do you think? Thanks for ur videos!
when the tester checks emission during mot, he need to find a GOOD moment to do a test (ideally when lambda shows 2,5) otherwise mixture is reach -> more fumes
@@Mr93jacob not at all, i have done my mot 2 weeks ago, with bimmer tool connected so i could see lambda values, and once they got 2.5 tester started the test....and it passed mot....have a word with your tester to confirm
you can do a test as i did for leaking injectors. disconnect electrical connection from injectors and start the engine (i mean it will not start) turn engine like that for about 20 sec. then take off plugs if some of them smell fuel you know injector is dead/leaking. Oh, just after 24 hour engine sitting you can also check spark plugs. I mean you dont have to do all just 2 and 3 cylinder. here how one was testing: ruclips.net/video/C0QzJJyFq2s/видео.html i was lazy to remove my injectors. I am chassing 2A26 error :/ i think it is cat conv, but i am not sure. I do also have some missfires, up to 5 sometimes like you, if i drive long. But, it is not that consistent as with you. Cause sometimes i dont have them. as for 30EA, it complaings about 300mg that you have! means nox kat is aging soon, very unfortunate :/ noxem is the way. I installed it too, got sick of all this crap with 30EA, i would get it too quite often. and my nox seem to age. as for your last adaptation I would assume it could adapt after longer trip. For me it was also like that, but after long drive it adapted. For you it didnt, I guess it has to with missfires then. Im sorry that you so much trouble lately, as me too :D I just said, fuck it, ill drive it. and just clean my error, cause it wont allow stratified charge. Maybe ill change cat conv, but as I said i am not sure it is kat. So i m just driving the thing
Thank you for the information! Let's see where this problem of mine ends up. I think the injectors have been leaking for a long time and this has caused the NOx Catalytic Converter to lose its efficiency because of it. I will replace the new injectors next. Let's see how things go. 😉 And adaptations may take some time if the car has been driven for a long time on a "fault". I'm still trying to bring the NOx system back to life, but let's see how it goes. If it can’t be restored, then I’ll probably end up with Noxem. Hope you can solve your own car problem! 😊
Yes, this N43 engine is a package that is sometimes difficult to understand. For example, a non-functioning NOx system cripples the car, not to mention the adaptations of the injectors, etc ... The final solution can still be found, at least I hope so. Slightly still under study. Stay tuned! 😊
