Awesome video, dude! I love your calm demeanor while discussing the meta here. While I was largely disappointed with the new cards we got in the Witchwood expansion (as opposed to the Kobolds cards, which I loved), I can still see their value - Blizzard is shifting the meta calmly and quietly, using this expansion almost more like a patch than a whole new batch of content. The meta didn’t actually change too much from late Kobolds to early Witchwood, and as I’m writing this in mid to late Witchwood, it still hasn’t changed much. But the fact that it is changing and evolving naturally, rather than being forced by aggressive printing or allowed to fall into anarchy by printing cards that define power creep (*coughgadgetzancough*), shows to me that Blizzard is in general happy with the state of the game. And I can see why - a game where control and aggro are balanced enough to have most decent decks at around a 50% win rate is something to be applauded!
Everything has a counter. It's just would you want to lose more against other match ups by putting in the counter cards. It's a balancing act and one slight change in the meta can make your positive win rate deck into a negative win rate deck. So you keep tweaking, putting a card in, taking a card out. Until you find you put the same card in you took out a few week ago cause the meta came full circle.
Elemental Shaman Ayyy! I'm a budget Elemental Shaman! No legys. Only purples, but Kalismo's servant + The battle cry doubling elemental work great! I also run 90% elementals and a few tech cards.
Spiteful decks are frowned on because 1) High roll, 2) Sucks all the nuance out of your deck by only including 2-4 high cost spells. The deck is balanced if control builds around, e.g. needing a way to deal with a 12/12 on turn 6 (or 5 w/ coin), which Cubelock already forces with their potential for turn 4 giant (faster, but not spell immune). With that in order, I'd say the only RNG that sucks is not having any answers drawn by half your deck.
hey penniless is there a way we can contact you to talk about hearthstone and give our sides of the stories because you need to remember if you see 10 agro pally's in a row that doesnt mean that they are seeing your deck and you need more perspectives than 1
i suggest you make a penniless discord for us to give you our side of the story and for you to see how other decks do that you done play or cant play at that moment even before hsreplay or any other sites do.
Feel free to Tweet at me, preferably a screenshot. @PennilessPriest I probably won't respond directly, but rest assured that I keep an eye on what my audience has to say.
I don't really get why people complain so much about terrible cards being terrible. They basically even out random gain cards, no? Like the portals, so you're not guaranteed to get the best minion. Or things like babbling book or tome, so you're not guaranteed to get the kind of spells you'd all ready have in your deck because they're good.
You're right, it totally is possible to justify the existence of snap freeze. It's existence doesn't just affect decks that contain it, but also decks that contain cards that have the potential to select it for some effect
Pala is so good at the moment from a statistic point of view that doesn't care about ranks, because on these ranks, which effect the statistic, most of the players are still too dumb and lazy to tech proper against Aggro. There are enough counter to Pala. Just play them...
And the entire set of witch wood is dead because agro and tempo plagues the fucking game oh and cubelock but at least cubelock has some counter? Honestly I’d play against spiteful decks than agro SMOrc cause at least I’d have a chance to counter through mid game and late game
I understand the decks i play (lady in white) and (elemental mage) are pretty bad i still try to have fun with them cause that's how i enjoy hearthstone
it's really easy to counter aggro add more tempo, more board clear, more taunts, more cheap minions. It's just the same decks will lose to control cause you can't pressure.
Thats what i call a tier 1 video
"If you ever think Control Decks are going away, your wrong"
blizzard in 2021: whats a "Control DecK"?

Back to gadgetzan rock, paper, sissors meta.
Playing my fav deck of all time: handlock, couldn't be happier!
Still better than karazan
Snap freeze might be bad, but you forgot all about our old and beloved Shatter
somewhere hidden in the meta I'm still playing my Quest Warlock deck...

Great meta description loved the video!
Snap freeze is good...
When it costs zero mana, have "infinite" water elementals, and get it off ruby spellstone
Everything has a counter.

I've been playing elemental mage. It's not working.
Mostly due to lack of collection, I've been playing Even Warlock.

Get good and learn how to counter decks.
Maurice040684 I have a perfect win rate against cubelock current but agro still wrecks me

kaifeiyu true but I want to play fun decks that don’t require op cards since I’m f2p and I don’t even play ladder and I see these decks 24 7
I got win with OTK Mage in witch wood (I was sooooo lucky)
Chilli Corbett I have a 62% Winrate with this deck lol
