    That was fortunate for the home owner that the water pressure was able to release gradually down the pipe rather than all over the floor. If you insist on wet wipes, just put them in a trash bin.... not down the drain. "flushable" just means they get past the toilet... no guarantees beyond that point.

      The world used to function just fine without eels and high pressure jetting before wipes, there’d be a lot out of work if everyone stopped using them.

    Judging by the relatively neat basement and care the homeowner took in covering things, I figured on wipes being the culprit. They won't be having fun with wipes again. Those were certainly some stubborn caps. First time I saw you pull out the heavy artillery in the form of the grinder with a cut-off wheel.

    That was a tough cap, how can the lead shroud be so stubborn to get out? But you got it done. Looks like they may have used a blow torch an soften the lead for a tight seal. Great job Donald.

    I have 2 question, one how do the water and other stuff get in their, two how do they go up the drains

      It gets in through the toilets and sinks and they actually go Down the drains, these are waste water lines, everything is going out.

    Question, why do you that tool? Wouldn't it be easier to use a jetter such as the one on Drain Addict, which is more flexible and won't get severely tangled in anything?

      👋 they can be Installed both ways, by screwing or tapping in. Most people tap them cause they are soft lead caps.

      those nubs are actually to let the cable rotate freely in his hands, if you use just a plain rubber/latex glove, the cable will just grab the glove and rip it off

    well now i see why you don't even attempt to clean a loaded gusher with the snake through the out-cap and the trap, it's because it can be tightly packed at the in-cap like in this case and there would be no use trying to break the clog. and i remember your comment about your conserns about damaging the pipe this way

    Thank goodness that one wasn't under pressure. They would have had a full on stroke. You should make them watch a few of your other videos to make them realize what could have happened. Something tells me that would keep them from ever buying wipes again.

    Are you concerned about the flammability of the sewage (Methane) from sitting in the pipe that long? I'd be wary of using a grinder that creates sparks in a long-clogged drain, but it might just be me overreacting.

    Can't you use a smaller chain snake? I see the German drain cleaner Kempinger uses the one that he sits on. It's a lot easier to carry downstairs.

      Kempinger uses a sectional easier to carry usually takes longer to setup more likely to make a mess but mostly preference both tools work under different principles.
