That was fortunate for the home owner that the water pressure was able to release gradually down the pipe rather than all over the floor. If you insist on wet wipes, just put them in a trash bin.... not down the drain. "flushable" just means they get past the toilet... no guarantees beyond that point.
Wipes, wipes and more wipes. Gosh when will people put them in the bin. Never fhought you would get in to unclog it...wow. Stay Safe from a Tasmanian Fan ❤🙏👍🤗
Great video Donald, tough one yet again taking the beast down the stairs, tough caps ,never seen them that tough to get off before. Think they will get toilet paper now, nice couple..
Good morning Donald 🙏 🌄 great job those caps were tough to remove and all those wipes I guess people will never learn not to flush wipes keep up the great work and keep the videos coming 😀 👍 👏 💪
That was a cool removal. Stubborn as piss traps, wipe city, really nice and pretty knowledgeable customers, and also just seemed like a good atmosphere. :)
Judging by the relatively neat basement and care the homeowner took in covering things, I figured on wipes being the culprit. They won't be having fun with wipes again. Those were certainly some stubborn caps. First time I saw you pull out the heavy artillery in the form of the grinder with a cut-off wheel.
That was a tough cap, how can the lead shroud be so stubborn to get out? But you got it done. Looks like they may have used a blow torch an soften the lead for a tight seal. Great job Donald.
_…When the Monkey Wrench IS not enough…_ 😂 Dang Donald this episode deserves to be called _Obstruction: When Everything Prevents Me From Doing My Job_ 👉🏽 and I mean everything from the moment you started.
Kept thinking about Ollie and his angle grinder with no guard 😂 And the time his buddy wouldn't let him use it. I'm far too much a plumber/drainer fangurl 😂
Question, why do you that tool? Wouldn't it be easier to use a jetter such as the one on Drain Addict, which is more flexible and won't get severely tangled in anything?
those nubs are actually to let the cable rotate freely in his hands, if you use just a plain rubber/latex glove, the cable will just grab the glove and rip it off

"You gotta invest in some toilet paper!" Yeah, I gotta say, if "drain videos" on RUclips prove anything, "flushable wipes" is more of a gamble than anything.
well now i see why you don't even attempt to clean a loaded gusher with the snake through the out-cap and the trap, it's because it can be tightly packed at the in-cap like in this case and there would be no use trying to break the clog. and i remember your comment about your conserns about damaging the pipe this way
Thank goodness that one wasn't under pressure. They would have had a full on stroke. You should make them watch a few of your other videos to make them realize what could have happened. Something tells me that would keep them from ever buying wipes again.
Are you concerned about the flammability of the sewage (Methane) from sitting in the pipe that long? I'd be wary of using a grinder that creates sparks in a long-clogged drain, but it might just be me overreacting.
Kempinger uses a sectional easier to carry usually takes longer to setup more likely to make a mess but mostly preference both tools work under different principles.
I love the lady "I appreciate what you do" Good work as always
Yes she was nice. Thanks 👍
She created such a mess. So stupid.
Wow, a clean basement! I love how she had everything covered up and no junk on the floor. Smart!
Right?!
Wow. That was a tough caps removal. But you’re the guy for the job. Well done.
Thanks again 👍

The world used to function just fine without eels and high pressure jetting before wipes, there’d be a lot out of work if everyone stopped using them.
@Gary Fishman still had roots an collapsed piping
Sure right on that one!
Lots of skills being used, also very polite with the customers, good job.
Thanks 👍
You tackled that cap removal and snake out like a boss Donald. Nice job!
💪😉👍
What a way to start my day !! Well done 👍
Thanks again Caniac 👍

That was a tough one, but you got it as always. Well done! 5* service with those shiny new caps :D
Thanks! 😁
First time seeing an angle grinder needed, tight on space.
Great job, your customers loved it 😅.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Great job👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Wow Donald, you earned your pat for that one. You rock
Thanks Bobbi 💪😉👍
Wow those caps were definitely stuck on there good, what a mess! Great job getting it flowing again!

And think someone thought they were doing a good job threading those in that deep. Good job Donald, make the trades great again.
Thanks Scott 👍

With no laugh track
@@KevinWta ... ya know, adding the proper soundtrack like that once in a while might be hilarious!
😆 🤣 sure was!
I love how you told them to invest in some toilet paper!!!!! so true!!
Lol 👍
The last wipe you pulled out at12.02 was like the flag of surrender 😅
Lol
49.95 + 49.95 including removing that top cover.
💪😉👍
Good stuff man! Hope this work week goes fast for ya
Thanks! You too!
That was a cool removal. Stubborn as piss traps, wipe city, really nice and pretty knowledgeable customers, and also just seemed like a good atmosphere. :)
They were nice customers 👍
Those wipes keep you in business!!!
Definitely.
You definitely "WIPED" that one out.
😆
wonderful video and great work..
Thank you.
My man has to be the best plumber ever cuz he has been doing this for like 2 or more years
2-3 years on video, I've been doing this since I was a kid, helping my father! Thanks for the comment 👍
Love it. I just got back from having to pack a dumpster..
Glad you enjoyed 😉

Love this channel!
Great! Glad you enjoy 😉 👍

Now Donald, i think thats the first time i have seen you have to get out a grinder to get the caps off they were tough, great outcome well done 👍👍
Thanks, yes Taylor the first time on camera I believe. 👍
Great job!
Thanks 👍

"I truly appreciate what you do. I really do appreciate it"......... That'll be $600 ma'am.
Lol 👍
Sweet little couple ❤
They were nice!
Next tool to add to the working box: C4 for armored caps.
Lol
Another amazing video thank you Donald this was an awesome unclogging. 🗽🍎🐀🌽✌️💯
Thanks for your continuous support Kimberly 👍 🙏 🙌
Damn... that job had you working. Take the next day off. Those lids were Gorilla glued!!😮
For sure!
FLAP ‼️.

LMFAO ya‼️✔️ classic bra‼️
😉👍
I have 2 question, one how do the water and other stuff get in their, two how do they go up the drains
It gets in through the toilets and sinks and they actually go Down the drains, these are waste water lines, everything is going out.
@@NYDRAINS Ok thanks for answering my questions!
Np
2 new caps 👍👍😀

Caps from h3ll Garrett 😓👍

Thanks 👍

🌺 Buggers, this one proved to be stubborn! Wipes, wipes and more wipes = job security, lol! 😂 🌺
Yes they are!
Question, why do you that tool? Wouldn't it be easier to use a jetter such as the one on Drain Addict, which is more flexible and won't get severely tangled in anything?
Indoors tends to be a bit more messy with a water jet,in some cases when it's utterly necessary.
@@NYDRAINS Okay, that makes sense.
Don't forget to get some new sparks for the grinder next time you're at the hardware store!! Orange ones - not blue!! 😂
Lol
Never saw you resort to an angle grinder and cutoff disc before.
Not on camera but I did have to whip it out a few times.
Hello. I don't know anything about it, but I'm asking. Why do those metal lids hit if they are screw-on?
👋 they can be Installed both ways, by screwing or tapping in. Most people tap them cause they are soft lead caps.
Pipe colonoscopy 😂 ✌🏻😎
😆 🤣 😂
Looks like they put JB Weld on it.
Felt like it!
Where did you get the machine drainer from?
Spartan
I am a new subscriber. What type of gloves are you wearing? Are the 'nubs' for traction? Ty
those nubs are actually to let the cable rotate freely in his hands, if you use just a plain rubber/latex glove, the cable will just grab the glove and rip it off
Link is in the description, they are pvc chips and rocks for grip and protection 😉 thanks for the support 👍
Hope you charged extra for the 35minutes it took for cap removal Donald! Glad there are no house traps where I am!
Sure felt longer then that David. 😉👍
STUBBORN OLD BOY😮😅
You'd earned the $49.95 by the time we were four minutes into the video, those caps put up a fight on this one Donald.
Lol they sure did Glenn 👍
Nice job Donald! Do you get splashed a lot because of that snake machine?
Can't help it sometimes Audrey 🤷♂️ thanks 👍

The Hutson? 😂❤
Were those iron caps with lead outer rings compared to the new all-lead caps. They had no way to bend until you cut them. Old school.
I believe so, they were tuff 💪
Goodness, thought it impossible to get in.
Me too! 😉
Broken caps, scale and a mountain of wipes, covered in POOPOO!
🤢😉👍
those caps made you earn your keep good gosh

Flowing like a river but....
don't eat the fish!

Wipes after wipes what a great long day hopefully next invest in toilet papers. Great job there
Thanks 👍
@@NYDRAINS your welcome
"You gotta invest in some toilet paper!" Yeah, I gotta say, if "drain videos" on RUclips prove anything, "flushable wipes" is more of a gamble than anything.
I'll never flush a wipe of any kind. I bet people do in my apartment building.
I sure of it!
Why is it black??
Sitting there for a long time with bacteria causing the color change.
well now i see why you don't even attempt to clean a loaded gusher with the snake through the out-cap and the trap, it's because it can be tightly packed at the in-cap like in this case and there would be no use trying to break the clog. and i remember your comment about your conserns about damaging the pipe this way

"The pleasures of owning house". I've said that many a time
😉👍
Why don't you use an adjustable on the caps until something gives? Would be faster surely?
Not with those caps 😫
Thank goodness that one wasn't under pressure. They would have had a full on stroke. You should make them watch a few of your other videos to make them realize what could have happened. Something tells me that would keep them from ever buying wipes again.
Lol
"Wipe City", someone reword that song and make a video with clips of sewers and wipes. lmao
Lol
Why was the cap so hard to remove. It is the first time I've seen you use an angle grinder on a cap.
It's been sitting there a very long time and got rusted up.
You can add a cheater pipe on the end of that wrench to give you more leverage.
Maybe but that cap wasn't budging nomatter what!
Good
Thanks 👍
Are you concerned about the flammability of the sewage (Methane) from sitting in the pipe that long? I'd be wary of using a grinder that creates sparks in a long-clogged drain, but it might just be me overreacting.
Rare to have any issue couple times I've seen it the blade just flames a bit just let the smoke out and keep working.
More concerned of all the other 💩 and nasty stuff that's in there that can make you ill 🤒 😷
Those caps hadnt been open for a long time
Long long time
Can't you use a smaller chain snake? I see the German drain cleaner Kempinger uses the one that he sits on. It's a lot easier to carry downstairs.
Kempinger uses a sectional easier to carry usually takes longer to setup more likely to make a mess but mostly preference both tools work under different principles.
Sure it's easier on the back, but I wouldn't use nothing else, this machine is a beast 💪
She sounds like a nice lady!
She was!
Why do people flush baby wipes?
🤷♂️
I just want to say do you take some videos and show them to new people on the job
No, these are not educational, just entertainment.
Man you need to keep you some creep or Kreel Oil on hand.
😉👍
Instead use the flushable wet wipes
Those were flushable wet wipes! 😳
Unfortunately, until wipe flushers block there sewer too often, they will not change
🤷♂️
I thought about sewer gas and sparks...
Lol 🤯😉
A piece of the metal cap fell in the pipe and you did not take it out, at first... but then you did
🤷♂️😉
You should own stocks in wipes they are keeping you business
😆 sounds like a good plan 👌
163🤎🤎🤎
Guess the caps are 50+ years old?
Maybe less
Why do people throw cloths down the toilet? And they are large too.
🤷♂️
I’ll wager most folks don’t listen & go to a stockpile of wipes and . . . .
I dout it 🤷♂️
👍💪🇫🇮
👍👍
Too easy. Always a trap .lead, plugs? Screws in not hammered. 😮
