Jhope was a part of the rapline even from predebut. But he is very experimental with his rap style. Of course rm and suga were underground rappers and they do the heavy sort of rhyme, wordplay and storytelling. Jhope does all that and then adds something of a performance element to the rap. he also sometimes twists the korean language in various ways to force it to fit his sound. Means that some stuff in his lyrics only make sense if its said in his cadence or accent. Something that baffles lyric translators. He basically completes the rapline. The bts rapline have 3 different styles and they still are able to fit together in songs. Its really fascinating. Jack in the box is an old school hiphop genre album.
i got barricade at lollapalooza and waited like 12 hours to see this live. SO WORTH IT i still don’t think i’ve fully processed seeing hoseok up close😭 he played both new songs from jitb and songs from his hopeworld mixtape, and i’m lowkey kinda depressed cuz idk if i’ll ever see those songs live again😭 i’ve peaked as an army HAHA i’m even in the official video they uploaded💁♀️
This whole video gave me a Fight Club vibe! I love how he combined an early 90's boom bap rap beat with 90's grunge rock. I saw him perform this live at Lollapalooza and it was fire! This whole album is amazing!
Would be great if you could give the whole album Jack In The Box a listen. It's a short 22 minute album but very concise and well-put together. If not, perhaps after Arson MV reaction you could do his Lollapalooza performance for More and Arson (you could get both clips of these performances from BTS official channel BangtanTV) just to see his reinterpretation for Live performance, with the live band - which was totally awesome! Definitely looking forward for more jhope reaction in the future! Subscribed!
I think straight to the Lollapalooza performance is the way to go. Enjoy BTS More yt channel has English subtitles for the whole concert and I understand the translation is impeccable.
This is just an appetizer compared to his Lollapalooza performance. It was insane! 🔥🔥🔥 I couldn't look at Hobi the same way as before after that night.
OMG y'all NEED, NEED, NEED to check our his Lollapalooza set, it was off the chain! If you liked the experimental sounds of More it'll be right up your alley.
Stormy obviously wanted MORE! 😂😂😂 Glad to see you both back! And please, check the whole album, it's really awesome and feels like a breath of fresh air. Also, as others said, his performance at Lollapalooza was fire. He mixed this album and his earlier work Hope World plus a couple of songs from BTS albums. 💜💜💜 P.S. MORE is different from the rest, but all songs are very distinct in their sound. The beat in ARSON is absolutely sick.
JHope is so creative and brave! The whole album is so incredible and I hope you’ll listen to the entire album. It’s great to see you guys again! Good luck with the move. 😊
you can afford to loose kid rock fans, LOL for the exact reason you gave. ROFLMAO. Love J-hope. Vocal fry, with rock, and hip hop. This is something new, I love it. I am also ARMY and listen to BTS everyday. They can't be put into a box, BTS covers it all and does it better than most. you're going to have fun.
Everyone in the comments section already mentioned about J-Hope's Lollapalooza performance and I would like to recommend it to you too. It's absolutely insane. Do check it out guys, you won't be disappointed.
Thank you for your reaction. I'm glad you enjoyed the song. I hope you'll consider doing an album reaction to "Jack in the Box". An amazing album. It's only 22 minutes, but it has 10 tracks and j-hope manages to pack a lot into it. It tells a story from beginning to end. There's an English-subbed visualizer video of the whole album on the "Enjoy BTS More" channel. You've probably already heard that j-hope headlined at Lollapalooza at the end of last month and he was incredible. When he accepted the invitation to perform there, he thought he was going to perform 5-6 songs, but it turned out that he would be a headliner and had to create a 1-hour setlist. In true BTS fashion, though, he worked hard to prepare and the show went flawlessly. What's most heartwarming for us ARMY is that we can see the strong bond between the members even in this solo endeavor. V came to the set of this MV and even did a cameo (in the mannequin scene). Jungkook came to the album cover photoshoot. Jimin flew all the way to Chicago to attend the show. Before the show, J-hope was under a lot of stress of being the first member to perform on his own, at an important festival no less, that he couldn't eat or sleep well. When Jimin showed up, j-hope said that it was like Jimin was his light. He gained his appetite back. Their after-show livestream was so adorable, with Jimin unable to stop praising j-hope. I'm looking forward to the solo albums from the other members. I'm sure they'll all be as good as j-hope's, in their own unique ways. RM said that he was 90% finished with his album, and the next release might be his.

I’ve always loved rock and metal and when i first heard MORE i absolutely flipped i never thought Hobi would go for something like this. Its reminding me of old school garage bands type of music. He’s so brave stepping out of his comfort zone and doing this and i think that is amazing as an artist. Do check out Jack In The Box from start to finish if you can his album tells a story and its so well made you can tell he put his heart and soul in it. Also cannot wait for you to react to Arson and his Lollapalooza performance which is absolutely incredible! A true frontman he owned that stage.
Missed you and your reactions! Good to see you again... Jhope is a storyteller and he did a perfect album, well constructed, well performed, well all!! He put his soul in it and, well, you know, he has a so beautiful soul! Even his dark side is awesome!
Hobi is part of rapline. His whole album is very 90s in different ways. Hobi is pretty versatile and experimental with his art. We all expected something bright like his last album, Hope World but this was something else entirely and soooo good.

To me that made the song stand out more and people remember it so well. J-hopes More, gave me Linkin Park and some Korn feels. Linkin Park because they were able to mix rap and rock so well together. The Korn vibes came from the actual music video, it reminded me of Freak on a Leash, in the way the camera moved and the darkness. I missed your guys reactions, i am glad your back. Keep up the good work you guys and your right Kid Rock sucks!
Hey Guys! Welcome back! I thought you were done with BTS for sure, from the comments you got from the last reaction. I'm so glad! You have a lot to catch up on!
Welcome back! The whole album Jack in the Box is so good. The lyrics and message are top tier. It's short so if you can please react to it in the sequence the tracks are put together. Also JHope's performance at Lollapalooza is a must watch. He killed the show. It's so good that I have watched the whole thing more than 6 times already.
Ok so you kept your word 😊 I think that I want you to stay true to yourself, that is most important. Since you are here to react I’d much rather you be honest than to agree to just agree. welcome back! I'm sure others will have already said this, BUT you can see the entire j-hope set from Lollapalooza on BangtanTV, yes, j-hope live. I think you will enjoy seeing him perform live! also... I think doing an album listen would be in order for this album entitled Jack in the Box would be great! he tells a story with it. it's in a specific order for a reason. please consider doing that - either over several videos, or all at once. we will watch it. no worries about your audience losing interest with a long video! thanks and I hope all is well!
"J in the box" is piece of art 💜 Jhope was few interviews told meaning of this album. With IU Palette (they even sing together) and Zico ep.1 (5 min + bonus).
Truly missed you guys!! Hope everything is well with you both. 💜 Hope you check his entire Jack in the Box album as well. And if you have extra time, his whole performance on Lollapalooza. He made history as the first Korean artist to headline a major US music festival and also he sold the most number of tickets in Lollapalooza history.. Such a legendary stage and he totally killed it!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Welcome back ! You wanna know if there is more songs like More or not...? You should listen to the whole album. It is really well done and if you do please listen to it in order . Ty 💜
Just want to said a lil hello to you guys .. long time no see hope everything doing well for both of you ..miss you guys reactions and thoughts to our boys .best wishes 💜
I knew you would like it Kyle, we definitely have the same taste in music. You will probably like the whole album , based on the idea of Pandora opening the box. The only thing left inside was Hope(J-Hope). Like others have said check out his Lollapalooza performance. Being a little older it reminds me of the Beastie Boys and Folk Implosion(Nothing Gonna Stop) and even a bit of Iggy. Very Punk Rap. He even has several shout outs to Wu-Tang clan and ODB on the album. The whole album really reminds me of the 80's and 90's. As you guys said refreshing. Can't wait for you to hear more 😘💜🖤🤘🏻🤘🏻💥
Jhope's merchandise sold out worth 1 million dollars at Lollapalooza, first korean artist with TXT made it history to performed at Lollapalooza, aside from 150,000 audience live there's 15 millions watched jhope at weverse, HULU More audience too.. In 31 years according to Lollapalooza organisers its only Jhope and TXT sold out tickets, well done ARMY'S.
Loved the reaction. If you get a chance watch his Lollapalooza performance. Also, it would be great if you listen to the whole Jack in the Box album, you want variety JHope will give you it. This LP is a masterpiece, he poured his heart and soul into it. Poor Hobi was so nervous about his first solo performance he couldn't eat, he said he lost 11 pounds. 😱 Thank goodness Jimin flew to the US a day before the concert to support him. Glad to see you back. 💜💜
Many of us have made connections between JITB and specifically "More" and Fight Club. I think maybe that could be why it gives a very much 90's vibe. So J-hope here has rebranded or renamed himself as Jack and Jack's whole journey (as in the album) starts with the release of More. Hence Jack Moore, the protagonist of Fight Club. The MV shows Jack/J-hope in an office environment, with blank faced people working the 9 to 5 and he seems pretty done with it as well, yet on the other side of the wall it shows him to be singing with a band or in other words having a secret club of his own, a double life much like the main character in Fight Club. The song on the other hand also goes along with how hungry for more Jack always was; from wanting a perfect life to the perfect apartment with the neat IKEA decore. Here J-hope talks about his passion for wanting more and more too. Then after More, "Arson" was released, in which J-hope sings about and shows how he's burned everything from his past and now is at a crossroads where he doesn't know if he should burn more or put out the fire. Just like how at the end of Fight Club we find out the main character burned his own house down despite wanting it so bad. Somehow representing the struggles and hate/love relationship with the hardships of their job. Though these are all speculations or maybe some very similarities, yet still can't deny that JITB was one of the greatest releases this year!
@@VictoriaLovesMusic i used the word "here" at the beginning of that sentence, meaning on JITB album, not in total. And if you watch all of the videos and interviews where he talks and explains about the album he refers to himself as Jack (moving on from his "Hope" world era to his "Jack" in the box era). Plus, at the beginning of his lollapalooza performance he introduced himself as Jay, so it's pretty normal for him to do and quite nothing out of the ordinary for fans to acknowledge. Artists can have as many alter egos as the extent of their art expands. Hope that clears it up 😊
Omg his Lollapalooza set is a must-watch 😍😍 Please please watch the whole thing from start to finish because it's so well put together and entertaining! Great music and a phenomenal performer! He really is an artist AND an entertainer. It was a record-breaking debut, he was actually the biggest pull Lollapalooza has had in the history of the festival, both online and tickets-wise! 🤩 The manager of the founder of Lollapalooza said he has never seen a crowd like this one so that says something about the hype there 😄 He was under a lot of pressure being the first one to go solo in a way so he practiced really hard. Fortunately Jimin went with him. I think Conscience said it well in their review of the show (which was great btw): “There has never been a group as popular as BTS and so there has never been a performance debut from someone this gobsmackingly famous.” I think that summarizes pretty well how iconic this performance was gonna be and Hobi couldn't have delivered better 🤩
Oh and by the way.. I dont know if you guys are thinking of creating a patreon account, but i hope you can create one and deep dive to every album and MV of BTS.. I just love your insights and your discussions and interpretations.. I'd love to be part of it if you do create one!! 💜
I think it goes back to my intro into rap and hip-hop WAAAY back with "Walk this Way" with Run DMC and Aerosmith and to a lesser extent "Bring the Noise" with Anthrax and Public Enemy. It's a great fusion and being a fan of metal and BTS I loved it. I think the hardest regular BTS song is "Danger" which I love also. Glad y'all are back. P.s. not a Kid Rock fan myself so 👍 also love Stone Sour and Slipknot
HI! Glad you are back. I so wanted your take on this MV. The entire album is interesting and unique. Some of the fandom are not thrilled with this album because they are accustomed to JHope's "sunshine" attitude and behavior. This is far more raw and revealing. He has been happy Hobi for the fandom for more than 9 years and it was time to show this part of himself. Good for him! If you haven't had a chance check out his headlining performance for Lollopalooza this year Check it here ruclips.net/video/6ak5yOmj8W8/видео.html . There are clips and fan cams all over You Tube of that concert. Next you may want to see the second single released from Jack In the Box, ARSON.
You should check the whole album Jack In The Box (that’s were MORE and Arson come from), there might be some things you might like and his performance at Lollapalooza was amazing!
HOBI made history at lollapalooza. His show was PHENOMENAL! You guys really need to check it out. His new album “Jack in the Box” tells his story. HOBI is totally old school hip hop. If anyone in the group is gonna experiment with their music and vocals, it is definitely HOBI. He wanted to explore his darker side. He isn’t always rainbows and sunshine all the time. He asked us all to listen to it from start to finish to really understand what he has to say. Damn, I love that man. I admire him so much. As a person and artist.
i love how real your reactions are and if you enjoyed this jhope solo i urge you to watch his lollapalooza performance. it’s more than an hour long but bangtan tv (their official channel) had it broken in parts
Ohh my gosh you guys gotta check out J-Hope Lollapalooza... Totally agree with you bout Kid Rock.. You guys forgot all about Rage, they were before Korn and the rest... The show was off the chain.. Hobi broke so many records💜💜💜
Please note the subtitles quality is rather bad. J-Hope came in as a dancer so my own theory is that he has more of a clean slate, music wise, compared to the others in the rap line. My impression is that the three members: Suga, RM, and J-Hope form the creative backbone of the group.
Check out his performance at Lollapalooza

If someone is rude, they will need to fight me lol!
Thanks again it was awesome!
welcome back!
Thank you for the reaction 💜
Stormy falling off the table… 🤣
They are them love finally seeing them individually like this love Yas upper peninsula michigan
Hey guys!! It's good to see you back at it. As most everyone has already commented ... Lollapalooza!💜
"J in the box" is piece of art 💜 Jhope was few interviews told meaning of this album. With IU Palette (they even sing together) and Zico ep.1 (5 min + bonus).
Truly missed you guys!! Hope everything is well with you both. 💜
Hope you check his entire Jack in the Box album as well. And if you have extra time, his whole performance on Lollapalooza. He made history as the first Korean artist to headline a major US music festival and also he sold the most number of tickets in Lollapalooza history.. Such a legendary stage and he totally killed it!!! 🔥🔥🔥
For sure you'll love his Lollapalooza performances.
Check the box at the end of the video. It has all the rooms in it.
MUST SEE:. JHOPE Lollapalooza performance, especially Baseline/Cypher 1/Hanging segment. Also What If featuring Wu Tang sample
That “effect” is a robotic camera.
Welcome back! We missed you!
welcome back💜
Welcome back !
You wanna know if there is more songs like More or not...? You should listen to the whole album. It is really well done and if you do please listen to it in order .
Ty 💜
It’s like a whole new genre of music!
Can't wait for you to hear more 😘💜🖤🤘🏻🤘🏻💥
It made me think of Korn, Limp Bizkit and Rage Against The Machine
Jhope's merchandise sold out worth 1 million dollars at Lollapalooza, first korean artist with TXT made it history to performed at Lollapalooza, aside from 150,000 audience live there's 15 millions watched jhope at weverse, HULU More audience too..
In 31 years according to Lollapalooza organisers its only Jhope and TXT sold out tickets, well done ARMY'S.
hey! welcome back!! thanks for the reaction. im excited to see your Arson reaction too!
Though these are all speculations or maybe some very similarities, yet still can't deny that JITB was one of the greatest releases this year!
he didnt rebrand himself as jack he still goes by jhope.
Hope that clears it up 😊
Hi guys, glad you're back.
I subbed just cuz the cat fell 🤕 😂 great reaction!
was waitin for this....!
🤩 The manager of the founder of Lollapalooza said he has never seen a crowd like this one so that says something about the hype there 😄
He was under a lot of pressure being the first one to go solo in a way so he practiced really hard. Fortunately Jimin went with him. I think Conscience said it well in their review of the show (which was great btw):
“There has never been a group as popular as BTS and so there has never been a performance debut from someone this gobsmackingly famous.”
I think that summarizes pretty well how iconic this performance was gonna be and Hobi couldn't have delivered better 🤩
Kindly please check out his Lollapalooza live 🙏
The whole album is fire 🔥 watching it live was amazing to!!
Looking forward to Arson! 🔥
Hi! Please react to Jhope Lollapalooza performance Baseline,Cypher 1,Hansang,Arson,What If,Stop,Equal Sign,Pop,Just Dance
Gonna have too. It’s been a while since we reacted to a live performance.
You should check the whole album Jack In The Box (that’s were MORE and Arson come from), there might be some things you might like and his performance at Lollapalooza was amazing!
Tienen que reaccionar a J-Hope en Lollapalooza!!!!
OMG YES FINALLY
i love how real your reactions are and if you enjoyed this jhope solo i urge you to watch his lollapalooza performance. it’s more than an hour long but bangtan tv (their official channel) had it broken in parts
That cat is so frickin cute😍.
Wow this time you guys got new ornament, i still can't believe how lively its looks like 😂😹

You gotta check out his performance at Lollapalooza.. out of this world
You really need to check Jhope's solo debut Lollapalooza performance!Don't miss it💜
Ohh my gosh you guys gotta check out J-Hope Lollapalooza... Totally agree with you bout Kid Rock.. You guys forgot all about Rage, they were before Korn and the rest... The show was off the chain.. Hobi broke so many records💜💜💜
WHERE WERE YOU GUYS! How u been?
Jhope music reminds of the 90s hip hop, like wu tang clan, tribe call quest and Cyprus hill
“Kid Rock is 🗑 “ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes , please react to Jhope full performance at Lollapalooza🙏💜
Please note the subtitles quality is rather bad.
J-Hope came in as a dancer so my own theory is that he has more of a clean slate, music wise, compared to the others in the rap line. My impression is that the three members: Suga, RM, and J-Hope form the creative backbone of the group.
