SKETCHING AMERICA PART 12 SAN FRANCISCO (art travelogue)

In 1995, artist Giles Whitehead embarked on a 2 month trip across America, travelling by train, bus and tram, recording his experiences in sketchbooks, a written diary and a cassette tape recorder. This is one of a series of recordings of selected parts of his diary enhanced by sounds captured on that pocket, analogue cassette recorder. In this, part 12, Giles talks about his experiences in San Francisco, visiting City Lights Bookstore, The Art of Star Wars Exhibition at The Center for the Arts in Yerba Buena Gardens and the spectacular Chinese New Year parade through Chinatown.
