      How much exercise per week??

  • @sojoecherry
    @sojoecherry 6 лет назад +86

    I had terrible cellulite and I was very self conscious about it. Even around my knees so never wore a dress above my knee or shorts until I changed my workout routine. I do 5 minutes warm up riding the bike or rowing as fast and hard as I can. No wussy warm up a serious hard core warm up the I hit weights. Heavy weights doing walking lunges with weights, dead lifts with heavy weight, squats with weights and then leg press machine and leg extension machine. It changed my life!! 3 times a week and after 6 weeks I was blown away at the change in my body. I also did the exercise Sarah showed where you roll the ball toward your bumb and couple of there ones. Usually 55 minute weight training. Also incorporating arms and chest in there. I would do 4 different leg exercises 12 reps 3 to 4 times and then some chest and arms.. I cut out my half hour of cardio completely but made a point to not be so lazy in my every day life so that I was moving more and therefore burning calories. Drink tons of water and I went vegan. Bought veggie burgers and veggies dogs for when I was craving the taste of meat but not wanting the grossness or cruelty of it and other meat replacements and made smoothies with Vega One citrus flavour protein powder sooooo good and watched the cellulite melt off me. Got slow cooked oats and threw in a banana and omg so good! I've never looked back. I'm 50 btw.

    2:05 is where it starts
    Summary for those who want a quick set of notes:
    1) Go for a walk every day, or make sure your run. Studies prove increased circulation helps with the appearance of cellulite.
    2) Water - flushes out toxins and anything else sticking in your body. Lemon and Lime helps.
    3) These workouts: 6:49 Plyometrics Aerobic styled workouts. Help increase circulation. Jump Squats, jump lunges.
    4) Food:
    - Antioxidant rich foods. Berries, Acai berries, Camu powder, anything that's a deep purple or red color. Berries, pineapples, papayas, natural green tea, and acai berry powder.
    - Vitamin A and Iodine. Seaweed, Spirulina, Kale, and Baby Spinach. The deeper green- the better.
    - Healthy fats: Walnuts, Flaxseed, Flaxseed oil, Hemp seeds, Omega 3- Cod Liver oil.
    - Collagen: Bone Broth Concentrate.
    - Hydration: Water, Coconut water, cucumbers, kombucha, green tea, caccao nibs(?)
    5) Every single day, Minimum 3x a week. 5-10 minutes of Dry Brushing.
    Dry brush your skin everywhere before you hop into the shower. The direction you do it is always towards your heart. Long strokes up your arm, same with stomach. Don't brush so hard it leaves scratches, but just a tingling sensation. Calves upward motion, thighs, circular motion and pressing a bit harder. Jump in the shower, apply a nice moisturizer afterwards.

    At 35 & being a mama, what has been working for me is:
    spinning 3x a week,
    megaburn lagree pilates 3x a week
    (those workouts are no joke!)
    & reducing my added sugar intake.
    I didn’t have a lot of cellulite till I hit my late 20s but these things have seriously helped my body as I’ve entered my 30s.

    Dry brushing does indeed help increase circulation back to the heart, but it is more so focused on the lymphatic system rather than the circulatory system!
    The lymphatic system is responsible for removing metabolic waste from the body parts and largely relies on movement to transport the waste towards the heart and where it can be removed, therefore dry brushing is a super useful technique to encourage this removal process.

    • @BrunetteGiant
      @BrunetteGiant 7 лет назад +10

      theFitty Well, the cons have literally been apparent in Sarah’s life - an extremely low-carb diet is not very sustainable for your brain health, can affect your energy levels in the long run, make you lose your period, etc. Plus, you don’t get to eat what you crave and somehow have to make it up with meat and all that, with very little fruit. If you crave rice, you can’t have it, or you can’t have much. If you want a banana, mango and pineapple smoothie, you can’t, really, even though your body craves it. (Paleo-based is different than full Paleo, btw.) Plus, meat is demonstrably bad for you! You will find studies upon studies upon studies that will prove how unhealthy it is to literally have dead flesh going through your body in GENERAL - nevermind every day, every meal, all the time. Simply look up studies on the Paleo diet - it’s completely unsustainable in the long term, and it’s a bit strange that you think that there aren’t many cons, when there definitely are.

      Geneva I don't think that's true :-) I follow a ketogenic diet and it's healed me immensely! I believe there is a right way and wrong way of doing everything, just tell you could be a healthy vegan, or you could go begin and experience detriments to your help! It just takes a lot of research, and preparation.

      Geneva Paleo diets are definitely sustainable long term for some people. My parents have been eating this way for a long time. Also a lot of paleo people still eat fruit. There's no reason you can't have a smoothie...

    *Is it just me, or do Asians generally face less cellulite then other populations? I don't know, I've just rarely had another Chinese or Korean or other Oriental friend deal with something like cellulite.*

    This video was very encouraging, thank you! I found light walking, swimming and proper hydration produced visible improvement in my skin's appearance in just 3 weeks so I can attest to the benefits but I wondered if I was doing enough. I'm definitely going to add dry brushing. Looks like it not only works but feels phenomenal. I'd also recommend hot stone massages and those knobby rolling pins some spas have. Not only are they deeply relaxing massage techniques that lower cortisol levels, they improve circulation and manipulate the fascia to help minimize the appearance of cellulite. I hope that helps someone.

    I have cellulite on my lower half of my butt to my mid thighs and I'm 12. I don't mind it, but I don't want to be unhealthy so here's a little background:
    I'm a recovering anorexic, I exercise often, lift weights, do strength training and cardio, eat healthy (with the occasional chest meal) and drink lots of water. My mom has cellulite, but it's because she's overweight and has a slow metabolism. My grandma also does from what I remember, but she's dead now so I can't say. I'm 109 pounds. (gained 15lbs over a span of a few months)
    Is that cellulite normal?

You are still young, there are so many happy things waiting for you...cellulite is a small thing compared to the rest. Accept yourself. Don't let anything become in between your happiness.

I've never had so much cellulite in my life, mainly in my thighs! probably part of ageing, so I'm guessing there's a lack of collagen in my skin, plus I haven't exercised enough and the imbalance of hormones at this stage is one to blame. You can also start doing interval runs to get used to running at higher speeds. I had a knee injury a couple years ago so I had to stop running for over a year and that’s how I’ve been myself back into “running shape” either 40 seconds on 20 off on a treadmill or sprinting up a hill and walking down.
      That can help you build endurance for distance runs if that’s what your goals are, or you can keep working on sprints and speed! I think both will work just fine and they’ll both improve your cardio!
