  • Everyone Woodworker should have a wooden mallet. We made this one out of exotic hard words. African Padauk and Honduran Mahogany. The colors are amazing and it is a very tough and sturdy build. I want to say thanks to my wood working mentor who helped me with this build. Let us know what you think about the build in the comments below. Link to the products we used can be found down below. They are Amazon Affiliate Links. So, if you feel like supporting us, feel free to purchase a new tool or product for your shop and help us out as well. We like to use scrap wood to reduce waste of material. It makes it more challenging since we have boards of different sizes and thicknesses. However, this gives us a great feeling knowing that we are giving pieces of wood a second life that otherwise would have been discarded. Beautiful work! Question, why do you cut the mallet part in half then glue it back together? Does that make it stronger? Thanks!!

Thanks for reaching out and watching! The reason I cut the mallet part in half and glued them together was to get a thicker and wider board length. The stock that i had was not wide, and the mallet portion would be narrow. By cutting and gluing the way I did, I was able to control the thickness of the mallet itself. I would guess that it does not make it stronger.

@michaelsweet8327 no problem. Hopefully this will help you create your own. It is a fun project that takes some time and effort. But it is well worth it in the end.
